I reached out to Wood's Tree Service after they were highly recommended to me by a family member. Andy gave me what I thought seemed like a fair quote and on July 13 he had a crew out bright and early to trim my tree back. He sent me a photo when it was done and I was pleased with the work. With that being said, this review is to warn others to run the other way. The events that unfolded after the work was done still have me stunned, as I'm not sure I've ever been treated so terribly. Screenshots included. After the work was complete, I asked Andy to please let me know how to pay him - which was at 8:01 am on July 13. He never responded. At 12:23 pm I received a text from a random number asking me how I'd like to pay. I asked if I could pay with a card - she said yes, but there'd be an additional charge - or I could also do PayPal. I agreed to PayPal and she said to send the money to emilynwood13@gmail.com. I asked for an invoice as I didn't send comfortable sending a large amount of money to an unknow email - one that doesn't indicate a business at all. She sent me a picture of a paper invoice and I paid it - she said she received it. This was all in about a 2 hour window. The next afternoon I receive another text saying that the payment was showing on hold. I checked into it and Truist had flagged it as suspicious and potential fraud - I confirmed that it wasn't and Truist removed the flag. I told her this and to please let me know if it doesn't release. Her next message to me was rude and angry stating she'd "never had this happen EVER!!" My response back asked how it was my fault - I never use PayPal and I randomly sent a large about of money to a weird email address - so yeah my bank thought it looked suspicious. I said that maybe if they sent professional invoices from PayPal and used a business email address it wouldn't look so shady. About 5 minutes later, my phone rang. It was 8:30 pm and I missed the call because I was putting my son in bed. It proceeded to ring 4 more times in a 2 minute window until I finally answered the 5th time, a bit infuriated as it's quite rude to call someone over and over again at 8:30 pm until they answer. It ended up being Andy. He started the conversation as if he was just perplexed and asked if I could please explain what was going on. He said his wife handles the billing and he didn't really understand how the PayPal and everything worked or why this may have happened. I explained how the whole scenario (no professional email, no invoice through PayPal, the fact that I never use PayPal) looked suspicious to the bank, rightly so - so it was flagged. As I was trying to explain maybe the 3rd or 4th time he cut me off and said "you know what? You just got a free job." I was stunned and asked why? It made no sense as I literally already paid it - it was even showing as out of my bank account. I realized he was insinuating that I was doing something wrong. He just kept saying over and over again that I got a free job. I asked him to explain why and his response was "I could tell you, but it wouldn't be very nice". I said you already have the money - it's out of my account. He said well if it shows up, I'll refund it. I was just stunned over all of this. After we hung up, I sent him 3 screenshots: proof of payment from PayPal, the deduction showing in my Truist account, as well was a fraud alert email Truist sent. I'm not a scammer and I pay for work that is done for me and I just was trying to make sure he understood that. His response "U got a free job. End of story." Long story short, I didn't get a free job, nor would I ever expect to. Truist released the hold the following day after I confirmed it wasn't fraudulent - and obviously it wasn't refunded, as it shouldn't have been. I don't ever expect to get something for nothing - but I also don't ever expect to be treated like a shady scam artist. The whole exchange was so unprofessional and left me feeling horrible. The work the company does may be just fine, but if you want to be treated kindly and respectfully, I highly suggest you look elsewhere. read more

So we made the decision to plant a pool in the ground in our backyard. We had three large trees that had to be removed. One of the trees was literally almost arms distance from our home. We were concerned to say the least. We called Woods Tree Service to come have a look, the price was excellent, they were very punctual and showed up with a team of obvious professionals that made short work of the dying trees. These guys went to work right away and it was amazing watching the whole process unfold and the trees come down. Absolute professional's , I would have to say that if we need this service again, I know I am calling Woods Tree Service to come back. Excellent work, I cannot say how happy we are to have used their services. I just had more trees taken down by Wood's Tree Service. The first batch was at the start of the Pandemic. They did a superb job both times. Only this time they were were between my two story shed and gazebo. These are huge Leland Cypress that are 30+ feet tall. WOOD'S TREE SERVICE did a TERRIFIC job as usual. They removed, hauled and ground all the stumps. It was a freezing cold morning, they finished the job by 1:00pm. Then Kip sent a text telling me the job was finished ( great customer service). The stumps were ground and they left my property in Awesome condition. I will have The Best Tree Service in Cartersville back. Kip and his team did a wonderful job removing huge trees that were leaning toward my house. He was very aware of my budget, worked with me to make the most use of his day and did a wonderful job. His team was so efficient, and used lots of different ways to take these very old trees down without any damage to my home. They inadvertently ran over a sprinkler system head (my driveway has a wonky turn) and immediately took steps to fix it where as my movers did the same thing on the other side of the driveway and totally left the scene.
