Appalachian Tree Service in Kennesaw, GA, just expertly removed 2 huge - extremely tall - trees from the edge of a hill that is very close to our house. I couldn't imagine how the trees could be brought down safely but they did it! I had observed them 2 weeks prior as they removed a tree at my next door neighbor's house and was very impressed with the quality of their work. Another aspect of our situation here is that it's not possible to bring much heavy equipment up to the back of our house but that wasn't a problem as they either carried the debris or rolled the logs to the debris trailer to be hauled away. I reached out to Ryan initially a year ago and received a quote for removal of trees in our backyard within our fence line, but shortly thereafter, discovered I was pregnant. Needless to say, tree removal became the least of my worries and we put it on the back burner. After her birth, we started to revisit home improvement jobs and quickly remembered the contact we had made with Ryan. I highly recommend this company. We had two large trees that needed quite a bit of trimming. They came out right away and gave us estimates. Their pricing was very reasonable. Scheduling was very easy and all of the workers were very professional and had us check their work as they went along. When they were done the owner of the company came by to make sure we were happy with the work. One reason we decided to go with this company is that they were the only company (out of 3 estimates) that didn't try to encourage us to completely remove the trees. Today I had 5 trees removed by Appalachian Tree Service, my 4th visit from them in the last 7 years. A tall dead pine tree, covered with pine beetles, was next to my neighbor's fence and it was unsafe to climb. It took them several hours to figure how to take it down without harming my neighbor's fence. The picture shows the top of the diseased tree being cut from an adjacent tree. Their concern was always for my fence, my neighbor's fence and the safety of their workers. Work was completed very professionally with ongoing consultation with my neighbor and me. We have a dozen big Bradford Pear trees in our yard that require regular maintenance in order to keep them healthy. We called Appalachian Tree service to crown these trees and shape them. Their response was fast and their work was unsurpassed. This was a pretty big job but their crew finished the work and cleaned up in record time, especially considering how bad the weather has been. I wasn't sure if our trees needed removed or just trimmed, during the initial estimate they said they could just trim for house clearance. So my job ended up being pretty small but they were great to work with. The crew was about 5 minutes late and the crew leader apologized right away. I was pleasantly surprised. I called another tree service and couldn't get a callback. A neighbor recommended Appalachian, so I submitted an online request for an estimate. Within an hour, Ryan called me to let me know that Sean would contact me. Sean came to our home the next day, gave me a verbal quote, and then emailed me the paperwork. Our job was initially going to be coordinated with other work that they expected to be doing in our community, but Sean ultimately contacted me to set a date with us so that we could be taken care of. On the scheduled day, they were a little bit ahead of schedule and Sean contacted me again to make sure that they could start a little sooner. The work was done expertly and with great care for the lawn and the surrounding landscape. In our case, they HAND CARRIED the trunk sections from our yard to the curb! The December storm that dumped nine inches of snow on us took down a bunch of trees in our yard, and damaged many others that either needed to come down or be pruned--at least 28 trees overall. They did everything they said they would do--and a bit more--and left the yard looking good as new. They are true professionals. Their insurance was provided in advance listing us as additionally insured, per our request. We have used several other tree companies in past years, obviously never reusing the ones prior. We had four trees removed and pruning on a massive pine that was previously hit by lightning. One was a completely dead, massive oak tree, with a ~4' base. We were afraid it would hit our shop if it fell. The very well-trained team of 4 guys (led by Devon) set up a pulley system with their hauler (which had it own crane within the bed) and dropped it perfectly. The second was an over-60' tall pine. One guy climbed it, cutting limbs off as he went up; and they again chainsawed/pulled the rest of it over, dropping it perfectly in place. The third was near our house, and again cut/pulled over. The fourth was over a river stone bed. They took great care of our property, and cleaned up everything beautifully before leaving. They even left us some of the wood for firewood. They didn't ask to be paid before they were done, as some companies do; and made sure everything was done as we asked. The hauler had to come back the next day to get the remainder of one of the bigger trees due to it being dark; and they did it first thing. The owner, Ryan, even made a sudden schedule change for us to the next day, as we had a last minute personal emergency. So grateful for their professional service and very reasonable price! Someone else would have quoted twice the amount due to not having their own equipment. We have already recommended Appalachian Tree Service to two others, and will definitely use them again. read more
