I want to share my recent experience with Top Tier Trees, who I simply cannot recommend highly enough if you need trees taken down or pruned. My experience with them was nothing short of phenomenal in every way. I'm not sure my description of the tree I had taken down would do it justice in terms of how HUGE this Willow Oak tree was (approx. 55 inches in diameter) as well as how complex this job was to take the tree down. (It had to be taken down as large branches had fallen, etc....) Given the location of the tree, they couldn't use a crane (so they had to take it down manually) -- and there were loads of utility lines in the area that were at risk if one of the heavy pieces of the tree dropped down on them. (I was quite nervous about this part as if my sewer, gas, or water lines were damaged, this obviously represented a LOT of money in repairs!) I was fortunate to be able to work directly with the owner and head of the company, David Hall, throughout the entire process -- and let me tell you, he did a truly phenomenal job in setting expectations, outlining the what if's, determining the best/safest/most viable path for taking the tree down, helping me manage a VERY stressful situation (in terms of the utility lines, etc.), and much more. David is extremely knowledgeable and was always able to explain things to me in an honest and informative way ... and the company as a whole made what can be a difficult process easier in terms of managing getting permits, working with the city, etc. The crew that took down the tree ... whom I should really call "tree artisans" ... were equally as phenomenal ... SOOOOO incredibly skilled at what they do. It was amazing to watch them at work over the two days of the job, and I am convinced that their level of talent, conscientiousness, work ethic, etc. is unmatched by any other tree company. We recently used Top Tier to do a large job on our property. They removed 12 trees in total, 6 of which were very large. They also trimmed a number of branches that were hanging over the house. From start to finish, everything about our experience was great. Our initial visit with their arborist didn't feel as if he was trying to upsell us on removing more trees. He was very thorough in his inspection of the trees. They were very efficient and left our yard spotless, even removing some brush and fallen branches from the yard that weren't part of the project. The stump grinder spread out the materials from grinding and you can't even tell where the trees used to be. The next day, a truck came and collected the large logs they had stacked at the road. Throughout the process, they took great care to protect the rest of our property and lawn. Aside from the missing trees, you would hardly know they were here. We got 4 quotes for this job and I still can't believe Top Tier was the lowest bid. I would have paid more for the quality of work they did. I highly recommend Top Tier Trees. They did an outstanding job in every way. Their price was competetive and reasonable. They removed two very large trees, one dead and endangering two neighbors' houses, the other about a 100 ft tall pine in danger of breaking in two and falling, due to a big canker at its center. Owner David Hall is extremely knowledgeable about trees. He immediately identified both trees and was unfazed by their size and location, even though they were impossible to access with machinery, and even though heavy limbs hung over my neighbors' houses and fences. No problem! Working hard and cheerfully, three friendly, expert professionals, one of whom did the tree climbing, managed within a day to take down both very large trees using ropes and chain saws, cleaned up perfectly, then chipped and hauled away all but the few very largest sections. Those were picked up early the following morning. I was amazed. Top Tier was absolutely amazing to work with for our very large maple tree removal and stump grinding project. Chapman was our point of contact and was phenomenal to work with. He was so personable, professional, answered all of our questions, and was very quick to respond via email. The team that was sent to our house to remove the tree was highly skilled and wonderful to work with as well. They took great care of our house as they were removing it which was a difficult task as it was extremely close to our home and they also took great care of the surrounding neighbors' yards and homes during the process. The stump grinding was also a very simple and enjoyable experience! As far as value money wise, we had multiple quotes written and Top Tier was one of the most competitive price wise and very reasonable. I cannot say enough good things about TTT! They did a major project in my community last summer. I heard nothing but great reviews from everyone that participated. At the time, I didn't think my trees were that far off that they needed to be taken down, but this summer if became evident that they did. Naturally, I reached out to David and Mandy. David came just a few days later, went over everything with me and gave me a fair quote. The crew showed up on time and had two trees gone within an hour and that included stump grinding and cleanup. We have used them a couple times and we're very happy. The last time we true dot use them a tree had fallen in our backyard but was hung up on another tree. We called to get them out and the soonest that was available was a few days later. They looked at pics and assured us it shouldn't fall and to stay away from it. It was hovering over our fence and we were worried about losing the fence. David came out a few days later and talked to my husband. He said he could take care of it really quick so that our fence wouldn't be damaged. He had to go get a saw or something from another site but he'd be back. He didn't come back or call. My husband had to call him hours later he said his truck got stuck or something. Well the tree fell on the fence that night. He said he would stop by to see if there was anything he could do to help. Never came back. It's unfortunate because I really liked them and referred them to friends and also have to spend a lot on fence repairs. read more

I had Top Tier Trees remove eight trees total (large and small) plus stump grinding. I've had several tree cutting companies do work at our house over the years, so I know how they compare and how the process often goes. David Hall and the guys at Top Tier were the best of the vendors we've used, in that they did what they said they would do, were very thorough in their work and clean up, and were all around really nice guys. Much of our work was in hard-to-get-to locations in our yard, so the removal was more of a challenge than the take-down. If you are realistic about this sort of work you know that it will likely be rough on your grass or "below the trees" plants, but Top Tier did all they could to minimize the damage or worked to fix things as they went. There was also a sincere interest in my satisfaction from David afterward, which is not always the case once payment is made. Extremely professional service. Top Tier Trees and their owner Dave is an company you can trust. I was concerned about a very large tree behind my home, and Dave made time to come out and inspect the tree to give me his professional opinion. His years of experience in the field was obvious after discussing the health of the tree, type of tree, risks, etc. I was ready to pay $2-$3k to have the tree removed, but (knock on wood!) Dave confided that this type of tree rarely falls, and this tree in particular is in very healthy condition. He said if he lived in my home, he would not have it removed. Judging from how he spoke and the information he conveyed, he was very confident in giving this recommendation (although there are never any guarantees when it comes to trees). He could have said the tree was a risk, and taken my money, but that's not how he operates. So, I give Top Tier Trees my highest recommendation. read more

Top Tier Trees recently took down a diseased tree in my back yard. The tree was huge--about 70 feet high and 6 feet in diameter at the base. They were able to complete the job in just two days. Using only ropes and cords, the main cutter did an incredible job removing branches, limbs, and trunk, while the support crew handled lowering the sections as they were cut and transporting them out to the street. It was done in a very professional manner with limited damage to the grounds below considering the complexity of the work that was done. They then cleaned up the area removing all the remaining debris. It was all done at a comparatively reasonable price and followed the terms as set out in the agreement. Brett took time to walk me through everything during the estimate, even taking photos to go along with each line item. The two ladies I spoke with in the office were always prompt to respond and polite. On the scheduled date the team came out and they were all awesome! They walked me through everything agin to make sure we were all on the same page, and followed up with me throughout the day. All in all with 8 massive trees, stump grinding and a ton of brush removed it took 2 days, and that included the large tree trunks being removed from the side of the road. With everything going on with COVID19 I was worried I would have a tree on my house for weeks. Thanks to Top Tier Trees it was gone the same day. David was at my house less than an hour after I called, walked me through the process, sent me a clear and easy to understand proposal on the spot with a very fair price, and came back out with a crew a few hours later to do the work. I used this company on a recommendation of a friend. My overall experience was exceptionally good. I did not realize when they set up the appointment (for which they were right on time), that the folks at AT&T would be "installing" my fiber optic internet the day before. The cable was not yet buried and laid right next to the soon to be stump. The crew from Top Tier laid plywood over the cable and the demolition of my huge tree proceeded without incident. I had a great experience with Top Tier Trees. I had a dead pine that I was a little worried about taking down by myself because pieces were falling off and I thought it could be dangerous. Top tier removed that tree and another adjacent pine that was starting to look a little rough. They showed up on time and were friendly and professional. There was on glitch with picking up the logs. It took a few days because of a mechanical issue with one of the trucks, but they kept me up to date and let me know where things stood. I was very pleased with their rates too! read more

A great tree company that kept my interests and concerns first. Expert crew and a company is only as good as its employees. The owner insists on hiring great people. Top Tier removed a problematic 100 year old tree that posed a threat to both property and safety.
