Again, with options of this place, and Big Foot, why would ANYONE go to Starbucks? Woods offers excellent drinks, and fast and friendly service, even the drive through goes fast! The drinks no matter what you get will satisfy you're thirst! I do agree with Melody though, the parking here is very limited, specially when they are busy- at that point you most certainly would want to go through the drive through! It's hard to give a 4-stars to coffee cafes, but this is more than just a cafe. Definitely date-worthy material lol, as it's quite the ski-lodge decor. This is a great place to meet with friends in Ferndale. I perfer their coffee to Starbucks. I'm an iced coffee drinker and I like that they ask before just topping the drink with whipped cream (lactose intolerance sucks). The ambience is cozy and I like the multiple levels. I Suggested that My Bike group stop here on the way to Bellingham. When i was at the till to place my order I asked the price of trail mix and the cashier just assumed the sale and when I declined she gave me the ice-queen treatment for the rest of transaction. Also Wood's WI-FI check-in process is both cumbersome and only partially functional. The restaurant is beautiful with good energy, a good vibe, and lots of sunlight. It was a chilly morning so I sat by the fireplace in the big comfy chairs. It's nice to frequent a coffee joint that isn't the Giant Green Siren. This specific location was a bit hard to find. It's visible from the highway, but that is actually the far side of a strip-mall-type shopping complex. When you exit the I5, you're taken to the opposite side of the complex. The staff were friendly, but as a walk-in customer I was practically ignored (they were all on their headsets taking drive-thru orders). However, once I had someone's attention, they answered all my questions. None of the food in the display case was labelled/priced. I got this cheese twist with spinach and artichoke. They offered to heat it up and it was a good thing they did. It was so dry, I don't think I could have chewed it cold. Coffee was tasty. I got an Americano, and when I asked for soy they passed me the carton which was nice. They also answered my questions about the beans for sale (which also didn't have prices). Overall, a good alternative to Starbucks. I would definitely go back--and they have several locations in the area. read more

The staff continues to provide lovely smiles, humor and consistent quality. Drive thru window is not as user friendly. Difficult to use and not big truck friendly. We've been coming to this Woods about once a week, sometimes twice, as an alternative to our friend's preference for Starbucks (he likes Woods too). I always get a misto at 140 degrees, and they make it perfectly. And don't get me started on their bagels - made in their own bakery in Lynden! On the menu: Soy chai tea latte + zucchini loaf. We also snacked a bit on the parental's bear claw. Such a delightful pitstop on the way to Vancouver B.C. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy with a wood cabin feel. The drink sizes were all different trees so I thought that was cute. Workers are all very friendly. The baked goods are made fresh daily and it shows. The zucchini loaf had subtle flavor but very moist. We all RAVED over the bearclaw though. It had very distinct almond flavor and had a surprising balance of being flaky on the outside while still maintaining a moist and velvety center. One of the best treats I have ever gotten from a coffee shop. Our chai teas were better than warm milk but nothing to write home about. The parents are quite critical of coffee and really enjoyed their drinks. Overall, a resounding 5 tiny spoons for Woods!!! read more

The girls here are SO wonderful! The upstairs space is a great area to take full advantage of all of the great light the cafe gets. Woods just added a veggie Mediterranean breakfast sandwich so they now have me even more sold than before! Traveling from Vancouver back to JBLM WA area and had to stop and fill up for gas, found this on yelp and it was worth the turn. Indeed it is lodge style decorated, from bear designed coffee products, to slabs of wood tables, wild fresh flowers, and tree hugging mirrors, this is definitely a cozy spot. A few gamers were playing cards in a separate room that was oh so nicely decorated with wheel sliding door for an entrance and comfy seating. There is an upstairs so you can come here and perch for a bit. I'd hope that others who live nearby take advantage of this cute place, even if some of you don't like coffee you can relax here, read, listen to music.
