When we left around 1:15 pm, only five other customers were there. The food was horrible, not one person in our group liked their food! I ordered a salad ($26) and chose to add steak as my protein. When my order came, it was totally wrong! It was a well done steak (ordered medium rare) with side of broccolini and fries. I ate one bite of the tough steak ($40) and decided not to eat anymore. I did eat the sides and found them to be average. When asked if I'd like a box to put my leftovers in, I declined. Others in the group ordered shrimp and grits, salmon, and chicken. The shrimp and grits were very runny, the chicken dish was too spicy and the salmon was undercooked. Needless to say, looking at their most current Health sanitation ratings for 2024 was an 80, and 2025 shows an 85. The buildings and grounds showed signs of neglect as well.

Omg, this is one of the most hospitality locations I have visited:) The atmosphere and customer service is so generous.It honestly seems perfect.The wines are great and well explained during each pour during the wine tasting. This was a new selection of wines from my last visit, and they tasted remarkable!Their food is scrumptious. This place will always be one of my first visited locations when it comes to taking friends and family.to introduce them to wine, food and travel.  Our wine guide, Caitlin, was very professional and knowledgeable. I came to meet friends with whom we will continue on to a local farm stay for the weekend. We sat outside on one of their covered patios. We packed a lunch to have with a glass of their wine. The tasting room looks like a barn and is very welcoming inside. There are plenty of seats for everyone. The warm weather had me wanting a white wine with my lunch. I chose their pinot gris. It has a crisp taste with notes of citrus. On my first visit I had a flight of all their offerings. My favorites are the Sweet Pea white blend and the Franc the Tank red blend. The old tobacco barn across from the tasting room offers another space to hang out and enjoy the view. There is also an accommodation below that makes for a unique holiday experience.

We visited Iron Heart Winery and had the most amazing experience!…read more Our beautiful hostess Deidra, poured some outstanding bourbon and several excellent wines during our tasting. She shared so many fascinating details about the winery, as well The Salty Stash Distillery located about 20 minutes away. We spent the day surrounded by the stunning scenery of beautiful Virginia and loved hearing about the history of both establishments. My only disappointment of the day was they were out of merchandise featuring the Iron Heart logo which I'm absolutely obsessed with! The Salty Stash logo is pretty cool too; we learned it's designed as half the owner, Adam's face, and half of his late father's which makes it all the more meaningful. If you're ever in the area, Iron Heart Winery is a MUST! You won't be disappointed! We will be back every year! Shout out to Jazzie as well who wasn't our hostess but was so much fun and made our day enjoyable. My apologies for any misspelled names. Thank you for making our day so wonderful!
