We visited Chateau Morrisette to celebrate my nephew's graduation from Roanoke College. We had a light lunch at the restaurant before going to the winery for a wine tasting. The food was excellent. I had wonderful crab cakes. The Charcuterie board was amazing for the four of us. I totally enjoyed their Cabernet Sauvignon 2017. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The setting in the Blue Ridge Mountains was beautiful. The feel was very Italian. I would love to go back.

Amazing experience! Love that they are super dog friendly and the dog treat tasting bar was so fun! Lots of seating outside with beautiful views and a nice area inside with things to buy and tasting area. Staff was upbeat and helpful. Lots of wines to try! My favorite here was the Cabernet. We also got a nice cheese tray to compliment the wines. Will definitely be back when in the area!

Had an absolutely amazing time visiting this winery. Tasted all the wines we wanted at no cost and Madison was a great host and a pleasure to talk with. We ended up purchasing nearly a a case of wine and had lunch at the restaurant which was also just as amazing. Top to bottom, this winery is a must if you're in the area

My husband and I went on Saturday (6/8), being my first time I had high expectations due to the fact that I was told this place was a great place to have wine. I surely was not disappointed, everything from the service to the overall ambiance was fabulous. With breathtaking views to the two very friendly dogs (Barnabus and I can't remember the other dog's name) was a lovely touch. We tried a few types of wines and we narrowed down to the Red Mountain Laurel which was divine. Overall, I would highly recommend visiting Chateau Morrisette whenever in the Floyd area. I would definitely be coming back.

Off the parkway with incredible views. Nice patio area with live music sometimes. Today there was and this guy was incredible! Matt Johnson @mattjsings. Tried the red and white flights. I liked the archival red. Pretty tasty. For the whites I liked the Chardonnay. A nice place to chill.

Been going for years... so glad they reopened the restaurant! Everything I've had has been delicious. The winery is stunning & what is better than wine & dogs?!

    The view, too.

We stopped in here in early November to enjoy some wine and a beautiful view. We were not disappointed. They're taking COVID precautions, so you can't do flights. But, you can buy bottles and enjoy them on the deck, weather permitting. Weather permitted on our visit day, so we did. We tried two wines and enjoyed them both. Also bought some of their cider to take home.

Beautiful winery! We happened upon it while traveling from Charlotte to Bedford, and loved our time there. Complimentary tasting led by the fantastic Mr. Ray- wonderful stories and great tasting wines. We purchased several bottles and then wandered over to the restaurant for a so--so steak dinner with a view. I look forward to sharing this place with friends in the future. Loved meeting the winery pups too!

Restaurant view is amazing!! Food is delicious!

Me and my boyfriend are new to drinking wine so right when we walked in we felt a little out of place but the staff were very quick to make us feel comfortable and guide us so that we weren't aimlessly wandering around. It is a family owned winery so one by one we met everyone while they were all teaching us different things about wine. Every single staff member that you meet is very passionate about what they do and it shows. They really take their time figuring out what you specifically like and they really don't disappoint with the recommendations! This place is also pet friendly! So while you're walking around enjoying the castle like building, you are also surrounded by a bunch of cute furry friends. Pictures don't do it justice, but trust me when I tell you that you will feel like you are in a fairytale when you come to this place. The staff really do an amazing job of making everyone feel welcome and definitely add a very happy and bright atmosphere that makes you want to frolic in a field. Definitely going to have to make the visit back one day.

We did a wine tour late this summer around the Blue Ridge Parkway. Everyone told us Floyd was a must see little town - quaint, hippy and unique! The day we visited, the winery was packed! They had live music out on their patio, several options for drinks and snacks -- apparently in the area it's quite the to-do sort of place. If I lived nearby, I'd probably pull up a chair every weekend and enjoy the gorgeous view! We opted to do the entire tasting inside, including the cider tasting which was an extra add on. This wasn't the first time I'd tried the wines from the vineyard (they are often at the Virginia wine festivals around the state), but I appreciated having access to some of the rarer vintages and varietals. Unfortunately, as a wine lover, I wasn't thrilled with the selections at all. A lot of their fare is too sweet for my taste. Most of my party seemed to like the Chardonnay, but I didn't care for it at all. The only one I ended up picking up a bottle of was the Red Dog, mostly because it had a little spice on it that I thought would be nice with a meat and cheese plate. I actually ended up spending more money on additional extras - their homemade jam, the upscale Greek olive oil, and the ciders (those were totally worth the tasting and were absolutely delicious -- I adored the Cherry Ginger and my hubby loved the Chai version). There are all kinds of cool gift ideas available as well. Overall, it was a nice experience for the day -- the ambiance and setting are definitely higher than the 3 stars here, but the wines were just alright for me. So, I settled on that. If you're more of a sweet wine drinker, you'd probably dig this place a lot.

Wow. Glad you're open but that's where my satisfaction stops. Honestly one cash register on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. You left customers awaiting for over an hour. Packed closely together in a line. They have moved the sales to the non functioning restaurant, but do not provide space for social distancing or enough employees. Worst system ever! Overflowing trash cans, certainly no sanitizing between customers or between parties sitting on chairs at tables they provide. Risky, but once you travel all the way there whose going to leave? While it wasn't very chilled, to end on a positive note--cider is back!

Ambiance being at a Chateau in Virginia was incredible. We were greeted immediately by both humans and this fur baby! Wine was nice and the service was wonderful. Great experience!

Our party of 4 started with a wine tasting at the bar with a very friendly, knowledgeable pourer. Every wine was good, some better than others but all good. (It should be noted that they do not grow their own grapes due to the altitude.) After our tasting we ordered food and got bottles of glasses of wine and found a table on the covered patio as it looked as if it could rain. They were not offering their wood fired pizzas this day because of the possible bad weather which was disappointing as we were all looking forward to it but we did order some sandwiches which were pretty good. All in all a very good experience and their winery dog made it even better. Oh they also have a bocce court which was nice to see but we didn't play as it was wet from a previous rain shower.

There was ample seating outside the checkout area; about half the seats and tables were under a covered, very large screened porch, the other half is out in the sun with large umbrellas to provide shade. They have one bathroom available to customers but it was very clean, well-stocked with supplies, and the water was hot with good pressure (which is important for hand cleanliness). This trip was a 5 hour drive from where we live, so if we come back again, it would be for another family reunion. But, if you're local or a short drive away, it's definitely worth checking it out.

From what I could see there was at least one, maybe two birthday parties going on as well as a bridal shower. They had live music which was pretty good, although with all the noise you could barely hear him. We ordered and shared a red flight, white flight and a bunch of their spreads which came with croissant bread. Everything was delicious. My complaints are: being only open on Sundays which is inconvenient and also creates pandemonium on the one day you are open for a very limited 4 hour slot, no tastings, just flights (for true wine people this is a no no), limited seating and parking is in a field, also they were out of the baguette (they substituted the croissants which was better than the pita they said they were going to give us) and the barbecue brisket spread which was I found to be ridiculous; I mean you're open for only 4 hours one day of the week.... You need to plan better. A lot of negatives but their wine and food is still good enough for me to say that I would return.
