As any homeowner should do when considering hiring contract help; we did receive other quotes. But when deciding which contractor to go with, Jayson's pricing was very fair given his craftsmanship and given the time we had to wait for his availability, you just knew he was going to do a wonderful job. As our date approached he contacted us about 10 days out to tell us he was a couple of days behind and wanted to negotiate a new start date that worked for our schedule-this was well in advance of us even beginning to pack up and move things out; so we greatly appreciated the advance notice and ability for us to plan. Jayson showed up as scheduled, ready to work. Of course having your floors refinished is inconvenient; doing it with two kids and a dog even moreso, but giving him the week he needed to do the job right was so worth it. I'd never have believed the floors could look so good, I don't think they looked this good when they were newly installed! I was so worried about the dust-I planned to spend a day wiping walls and everything down-I didn't need but an hour-there was hardly any! Jayson and his staff were professional, listened to your questions, arrived on schedule each day and were trustworthy. He even offered to take our dog for the few days! After just a couple of days, I tried to return my order, unopened, in full cartons, with a sales receipt, and purchase tile in a different color. I fully understood that I would be charged a 15% restocking fee. The salesperson told me when I purchased the tile that it was "in stock" and coming from their NY warehouse. When I tried to return it though, the store manager told to me it was a "Special Order" and the sale was final. How is something coming from your own warehouse a special order? Sound like B.S. to me! Buy your tile someplace else. The big box stores let you return single tiles, in opened cartons and with or without a sales receipt and there is no restocking fee, period!
