BUYER BEWARE! I recently purchased tile from Best Tile in Warwick RI. The sign in the showroom reads: "In stock items are subject to a 15% restocking fee if returned within 30 days of purchase with a sales receipt, in full cartons, excluding outlet or sales items". After just a couple of days, I tried to return my order, unopened, in full cartons, with a sales receipt, and purchase tile in a different color. I fully understood that I would be charged a 15% restocking fee. The salesperson told me when I purchased the tile that it was "in stock" and coming from their NY warehouse. When I tried to return it though, the store manager told to me it was a "Special Order" and the sale was final. How is something coming from your own warehouse a special order? Sound like B.S. to me! Buy your tile someplace else. The big box stores let you return single tiles, in opened cartons and with or without a sales receipt and there is no restocking fee, period! read more

Overall disappointing customer service. No one approached us upon arrival and when we tried to prompt an associate to help us in a specific section, she just told us we're welcome to go ahead and check it out. Upon getting ready for checkout (literally in line) one associate (Matt) spoke poorly of another customer that had just left the store, saying he just would do anything to get her out of there. He spoke an abrasive manner to her as well. I manage in customer service myself and would be mortified if my employees spoke to and of customers like this in front of other customers. We were initially pleased with our purchase only to find out that we purchased wall tile instead of floor tile. We left with 4 boxes and had to order one additional for the measurements needed. Again, no one helped us so we really didn't know there was a difference. My husband and I, however, did have a thorough conversation with the associates (Matt & Jessica were working the counter) at checkout about how this tile would handle foot traffic as it's going into a beach house and we're curious if it would be susceptible to damage from sandy feet. They could have stopped us right there and said this was wall tile!!! They literally sold us the wrong product. Our contractor let us know this tile would not do and when we called Best Tile they were less than helpful with the ordering error and said "we never had that conversation" regarding us letting them know it would be for flooring. Also customer service I would be mortified to provide - to very nearly tell a customer "nope you're wrong, that's a lie". Yikes! They let us know there would be a restocking fee for the 4 boxes we left the store with, but could not return the box we ordered. That one box was $600!!! After a bit of push back from our disbelief in this customer service, they allowed us to swap out for the appropriate tile with no restocking fee, but still did not allow us to return the ONE box we had to order. So now we have a $600 box of unusable tile wasting away in our basement. I'm certain they spoke poorly of us and just wanted us out of there like the other woman they spoke poorly of. Customer service, courtesy, approachability, guidance in navigating the store, and knowledge of their own product is poor across the board. Would not recommend. Save yourself the trouble and go to floor & decor, or even just go to home depot. read more

We went there today after speaking on the phone with Jason Long, the Design Consultant. Simply by a brief phone call he knew what I wanted and brought us right to it immediately. This guy is not only nice and just the correct amount of friendly, but he's bright, articulate, so well-informed about all the products on the floor he would had to have been in the tile business forever but he looked too young! He sent us home with samples, catalogs, website addresses, price estimates etc. I was really blown away by what a terrific experience it was and the store was just filled with samples and sample boards snd a huge selection of tile products on the walls and floors. I've never done a full tile floor before, just backsplashes and bathrooms. So I was a bit apprehensive going in but it wasn't necessary. This was an extremely positive experience for me and Jason is a stellar sales person as well as design consultant. Best Tile is truly fortunate to have him on its staff. Treat him well! read more

Only person in the store yet nobody approached to help until I went to the desk. I did take a tile and the person asked for a card, that no charges would be made. Please return the tile in 5 days. When she gave me the quote of 1200, she asked, 'is that over your budget?' Maybe because I was in jeans and a tee shirt? Today a $10.00 charge showed up on my card. She specifically said no charge will be made.......not only a snob but also a liar! It's not the $10.00, it's the principal of lying. read more

My wife and I were shopping for new bathroom tile and we stopped here and were helped by a very friendly and knowledgeable Monique Robert. We had to order everything and when we went to pick it up the order was short two pieces which were then re-ordered. After those came in the job was started and we discovered some of the pieces were of the wrong size (after they were cut) so Monique ordered new ones to replace them. When I went to pick up the correct size pieces and swap the wrong ones they charged me for the new ones and wouldn't credit us for the ones we had cut (per store manager). Since it was their mistake I took exception, but was told that was the deal. Since I had to make two return trips due to their error I find the store policy to be not consumer friendly. read more
