Let me be very clear: this company should not be trusted in your home. The installers were careless and caused visible damage to my property during installation, and instead of owning it, they completely avoided responsibility. No accountability, no professionalism--just excuses. Even worse, when I tried to address the issue, I was treated like I was making it up. There were no time-stamped photos provided to prove the damage existed prior, yet they still tried to deny everything. It's insulting and unacceptable. I was able to provide them time-stamped photos of all the damage immediately after install. Because of their negligence, I had to pay out of pocket to have a painter come back and fix the damage they caused. Why should a paying customer be stuck cleaning up after "professional" installers? This wasn't just inconvenient--it was stressful, costly, and a complete waste of my time. If you're going through Lowe's, be warned: this is the level of service you may get from their contracted installers. I expected professionalism and respect for my home and got the exact opposite. I would strongly advise anyone considering Four Seasons Carpet to go elsewhere. Save yourself the headache, the damage, and the extra expenses.

I went to the Payless showroom to confirm they had the engineered hardwood I needed to match the…read moreexisting partial installation in the house I had recently purchased and to select the laminate I wanted for the basement. The staff at the store was available for questions but also knew to leave me alone to compare the many laminates they showed me. After narrowing down the options, I was able to borrow several full sized laminate floor samples to take home for a couple of days, which was crucial for matching the walls and nearby tile. I got two bids, Payless was 10% more than the other but I went with them for two main reasons: they were local (the other company repeatedly stated how far away I was during the bid) and the installer was paid directly by them, allowing me full buyer's protection and frequent flyer miles by putting the entire purchase on my credit card. Payless did caution me that their installer was slow and meticulous, estimating 5 days for the three room job. They also suggested that I wait on painting the rooms since removal of the baseboards might damage them, but I had to paint a lot of rooms so agreed to touch up any marks as I needed to get started. Although helpers showed up on the first day to rip out the carpeting in hopes of speeding up the install, it took 7 days to complete. The results are impressive. The installer was able to seamlessly match the new engineered hardwoods to the old, giving the impression that the entire first floor was done at the same time. He picture boxed the fireplace hearth with two rows of trim and mitered corners, it added that extra finishing touch. The laminate flooring in the basement also looked great, even in the closet! The installer barely left a mark on the newly painted walls, I had to really hunt to find places to touch up. He cleaned up after the job every day and took all his trash with him every day. He labelled the boxes of leftover hardwoods "old" and "new" for future repairs and left it with the left over boxes of laminate. He also made a trip back the day after the job was over to drive some screws into a porch post he noticed was not secured by a previous contractor I had hired to do some repairs. I would recommend Payless for both the purchase of flooring and the installation, just give yourself plenty of time for the latter. Every friend, family member, and neighbor who has seen the finished job has been impressed and most importantly so am I.

I've visited here at least a dozen times, both as a homeowner buying lumber and materials for my…read moreown small projects, and as an employee of a local plumbing company that has an account here, and have had no problems or complaints. Yes, their lumber costs more than the big box stores, but it's definitely better quality; besides, I like supporting a local business over a corporate giant. Their service is also light years better than Home Depot or Lowe's; the inside sales people at the service counter are professional in their demeanor and knowledge. I like their system for purchasing lumber and building materials. You go inside the store first; tell someone at the service counter what you need; and pay for the material. Then, you drive your truck inside the lumber warehouse, where you can either load the lumber yourself, or have an employee load it for you. It's much better than struggling to navigate a cart full of lumber through a big box store. The store itself has a decent selection of fasteners; a fair selection of tools; and only limited selections of specialty items such as electrical and plumbing. It's not trying to be a big box store, or a hardware store. But, as far as general building supplies, it's pretty much got everything covered. They recently started selling appliances also.

The following week I went with cash in hand to pay for the materials for the project. Purely miraculously coincidentally they claim prices went up by $350 in one week. I get this lame excuse from the counterperson saying well lumber prices change weekly. The problem is lumber's down anywhere from 3 to 5% in the past month. So what they did was quote me a price a week earlier for in stock the same as they had in stock when I arrived and they raised the price $350. I asked to speak to a manager no manager comes out I ask for a phone call no manager calls. This is bait and switch lumber prices did not increase they decided to just arbitrarily and randomly raise prices and not honor what was quoted. I've spent over $40,000 over the years at Coventry lumber. Because they would not honor their prices I will never go back to them again.
