When my family first relocated to Providence, we came to Rustigian's and got two huge gorgeous area rugs, which I am sure will be in my family for generations. My dining room rug has lasted through all our pets, all our family dinners and moving twice and still looks absolutely perfect. My sister says that her rug is still in mint condition. The showroom is suprisingly large (they even have a full second floor of wall-to-wall carpeting), the staff is very well educated and eager to help and there are tons of style to choose from. We were sorely disappointed in the service we received today, having entered the store with the intention of purchasing a rug for our living room. At first no one acknowledged our presence, and when the gentleman at the door finally did and noted our interest in buying a rug, he asked us a series of inappropriate questions with the obvious intent of judging our wealth. After learning that we lived on the opposite side of town (he wanted to know what street even) in a rental, he suddenly left without explanation. We waited for his return feeling like fools. A deeply insulting experience, we left and don't plan to ever return. We'll buy our rug elsewhere. read more

Best place to go for first time rug buyers! Buying a rug (a real rug) is an investment and an intimidating prospect for a first timer, but the staff at Rustigian made it super easy. They asked us about our space and intended budget and stayed in our guidelines. We ended up with a beautiful, low-pile wool rug that is now in our living room in Chicago. It get a lot of foot traffic from people and animals, but it hasn't shown any wear - even after we got it cleaned a few months ago! Our dog had an accident, so we just folded it up and sent it back to Rustigian. They cleaned it and shipped it back to us in a matter of weeks - and the rug still looks like new.
