I first worked with Sophia just a few days into my breastfeeding journey. The latch was extremely painful and I was worried about how much milk the baby was getting. Sophia came in with a wonderful & calm energy and she gave me lots of suggestions on how to make the latch much more comfortable. She designed us a plan to breastfeed more as that was my goal and she followed up with me. After a few weeks, I had no more challenges with the breastfeeding! Fast forward a few months when my daughter was no longer accepting the bottle (what a switch)! Sophia came back in again with her wonderful, calming energy and got my daughter to drink from the bottle and gave us pointers on how to do it ourselves. Sophia is hands down the best lactation consultant I've ever experienced/worked with. I wish I had met her when I had my first baby as she is currently helping me on my breastfeeding journey with my second child after my son's tongue and lip ties were released. She is extremely knowledgeable, caring, compassionate, patient, provides evidence-based recommendations and truly prioritizes mom's wellbeing as well as baby's. My husband was able to join us for part of her in-home visit and said he learned so much and we both felt so much more confident and empowered. She immediately sent a full plan via email reiterating the tips and info she shared during the visit for reference. Lactation support and education should be accessible to every mother when considering the immense benefits of breastfeeding - and Sophia made sure we had all the tools for success, making herself available at any point in the future for any other questions we had. Sophia was an absolutely wonderful lactation consultant and I would highly recommend her! I loved that she was able to do home visits with me as I navigated the beginning of my breastfeeding journey. She is very knowledgeable and helpful - providing tips on optimizing my breastfeeding technique, guiding me through pumping, as well as information regarding burping, pacifiers and what to expect in terms of changing baby habits. Sophia was a saving angel for our family! Our son was in the NICU for the first few days so was bottle fed and having a really hard time making the connection to breastfeed once we got home. The lactation consultants at the hospital told me I'd need to use a nipple shield for a long time (which are so frustrating to use, in my experience) to get him to make the connection. It was so traumatizing trying to get him to breastfeed as he would just scream and not understand and I felt I was traumatizing both of us and hurting our bond. I also was pumping/washing around the clock and in despair how I'd ever be able to leave the house or get a lick of sleep. There were lots of tears - from both me and my son! I went to see Sophia after I posted in the Roswell Mom's Facebook group desperate for help, and 7 different moms recommended her. Not only did Sophia tell me I did not need - and to ditch - the nipple shields, but she was so kind and patient, instilled confidence in me and gave me a very clear and simple plan to follow. To my huge relief, our son was latching and breastfeeding like a pro in less than 2 weeks - and would probably have been sooner if I had followed her plan more closely the first week. I truly cannot recommend Sophia enough. Her help has made the biggest difference in my mental health, freedom to venture out the house and achieving that sweet vs stressful feeding time with my baby. read more

Sophia came to our home today and patiently helped me learn the wonderful world of breastfeeding. I was engorged, unable to latch my daughter, and was beyond frustrated!! She stayed for over three hours and even offered a follow up appointment, which I may or may not need. Still working at it. My daughter and I are learning together! :) Sophia said she'd be available for any questions I may have, which was nice to know someone is on standby, if needed. I would highly recommend Sophia. I truly cannot imagine what I would have done during those newborn months with my baby had I not gone to see Sophia. My baby had some issues latching and it was so challenging to nurse without a nipple shield or syringe to get the suckling action started. I was jumping through hoops to get this baby to nurse and it was just so challenging. I remember crying on the phone to my friend about it. Finally I was referred to Sophia and everything changed. Baby started nursing! I also got a TON of support via phone calls and texts with Sophia, I couldn't believe how generous and available she was with her time and information. I not only learned a lot about nursing, but she helped me understand everything about my baby. We discussed sleep, which was another concern; she informed me of some things that I am SO grateful for, because I avoided doing things that I now know I would've deeply regretted. Anytime I had a question, I knew I could call her and get a timely, thorough response. She went above and beyond all my expectations of what a lactation consultant was. Because of her, I have a content and happy baby. I'm a content and happy mama too, because I don't have anxiety or doubt about what I'm doing. Sophia has supported me so much that I think of her as one of the most vital people I've known on my life's journey. Becoming a mother was such a big deal for me and easily the biggest responsibility of my life, which is why I value Sophia's guidance so much. I recommend Sophia's services no matter what you're dealing with or whether this is your first or fifth baby. One of the best. We went to two other lactation consultants before seeing Sophia, while they were okay, Sophia was more helpful then both. She offered a different approach for my wife that was much more effective breastfeeding. Before her my wife was ready to give up, after one session with her, my wife's confidence is restored and she now feels comfortable with a better position and knowing our daughter has a great latch. Our insurance didn't cover our visit with her, but it was still money well spent. My wife now feels she is over the hard part and that she can do this. Thanks Sophia. read more

Sophia is wonderful. She is incredibly patient, helped me for one week straight, answering all my calls and texts patiently in between my in person sessions with her, and helped me reach the finish line. We were not in good shape when we started! THANK YOU so much! Can't recommend her enough. She is also very generous with her time, stayed at my place for almost 3.5 hours yesterday and went beyond just lactation tips - also helping with my car seat, Tummy time and rocker. She understands babies VERY well and helped educate me on my baby and signals she was giving me, and what to expect when. She is also a huge confidence booster. I'm a first time mother of twin boys, and had a complicated delivery requiring an extended hospital stay. I was lucky to have a great Lactation consultant at the hospital help me at first, but knew I would need more support once I got home-the BF struggle is real! Sophia was recommended to me, and I cannot tell you what a godsend she is. she is so incredibly knowledgeable, and flexible! Sophia came to our home for two in-home visits and was so professional, kind, helpful and supportive (and also didn't mind my messy house and crazy dogs-not to mention i was in my jammies)! She weighed each baby before and after feeding so I knew just how much they were getting (amazing to feel reassured that your kiddos are getting enough as a EBF momma!). She watched me latch each of my LO s and help me solve their latch problems--Turned out my kids were both lip and tongue tied, and needed a procedure! Sophia suggested we go to a specialist and sure enough she was right! The procedure was a game changer! Sophia listened to my goals of EBF (WO the pump) and tandem feeding my boys. She created a comprehensive plan for me and the boys and even called and texted to check up on us! I really believe that because of Sophia's support, I was able to successfully nurse my boys, if it wasn't for her I would have given up months ago. I am still successfully nursing months later and about to head back to work! If you are a new mom, and you want to breastfeed-Call her! You will be so glad you did! Sophia is truly amazing!!! My little one was born in early September, and from the beginning, breastfeeding did not come naturally. My little one was small and didn't have the muscle strength or coordination to breastfeed, and I had no idea what I was doing or how to improve our situation. I felt utterly hopeless. Fortunately, I was referred to Sophia, who helped me regain hope. She helped me so that breastfeeding wasn't painful and prepared me for what to expect in the upcoming weeks. After each visit, I felt more positive about breastfeeding. Sophia, my little one, and I met on multiple occasions, and during each visit, Sophia remained optimistic, supportive, and encouraging. Sophia is absolutely incredible. She is remarkably patient, a wealth of knowledge, and above all, abundantly kind. I called Sophia in tears when my son was 3 weeks old; I was within hours of giving up on breastfeeding all together. She came to my home the next day and helped me start feeding with confidence. I also attend her weekly support group which has been an indispensable lifeline. Four months later, I am still breastfeeding my son and know that I can lean on Sophia whenever I need advice, a second opinion, or just vent about how things are going. Sophia is absolutely amazing! She was recommended by my pediatrician (Dr Lisa Roberts) after I had my 2nd baby. I was having issues with latching. She came to my home. She was genuinely concerned about my issues. She helped to get my baby latched properly, which ultimately stopped the pain I was experiencing. In addition, she stayed longer than the allocated time to help me contact insurance to get my out of network claim handled. Did I mention how amazing she is?
