I want to love Wonder. I like the concept and the varied options. But their fees are very high and it's unclear how much of the fee goes to delivery. I signed up for Wonder + but will probably cancel. I've had great experiences at Alanza Pizza in the past. Everything arrived hot and fresh and delicious. But recently, delivery has taken a sharp turn for the worse. First, my chicken sandwich and onion rings from Samuelsson's place arrived cold and lukewarm, respectively. Next, a driver came to the door with the pizza boxes held askew, preoccupied with snapping a photo. It arrived with all of the cheese, sauce, and toppings entirely slid off the pie. So each slice was a barely wet piece of bread. It was inedible. I got a refund, but TBH, Wonder should've done more, like a free meal. My friend was over and it ruined our plans as we headed out for the night. Seems like the bare minimum of customer service. I worked in the food business for a very long time, so I probably give more leeway than most. But two times in a row is unacceptable. Where is the quality control? read more

The concept of Wonder sounds good in theory. A curation of different cuisines all available under one roof which while convenient, it can be quite lackluster. I found the Thai Basil Rice with tofu I tried to be very bland and definitely not up to the quality of any Thai restaurant I've tried. I also took advantage of promotion and tried another "restaurant" within the Wonder family which was Mexican cuisine. The custom bowl I made was a lot better than the Thai dish though. I probably would not have gotten the dish if I wasn't mailed a promo code. One thing I can appreciate about Wonder is the transparency of the nutrition facts. The Thai dish I tried was extremely high in calories. This really does make me wonder now how high the calories could be outside of Wonder since the portion while not small was not nearly as generous as Thai restaurants. The same went for the bowl I created and it appeared as though the caloric intake increased/decreased depending on what was added to the bowl. Service was great, order didn't take long. This time I had the cheesesteak, my least favorite cheesesteak of all time. Salty and lacks real flavor. Meat tastes imitation, and a very sloppy and small sandwich for $16. Open water is one of my new fave sparkling waters. read more

This is a 4.5 star review I see myself as somewhat of a burger snob, because I definitely have my favorites and I'll be quick to know what doesn't work for me in a burger. I ordered Baby Burger by Wonder on a whim and was SO pleasantly surprised. It's easy to mess up a burger when it comes through delivery and this was so good. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because the burger was slightly cold, but that's expected, to some degree, with delivery. I ordered a double cheeseburger, truffle fries, Rice Krispie treat, and drink (it was one of those days) for about $30 (after delivery fee and tip) and I feel like it was worth it for what I got. The fries were crispy and the drink was cold and crisp. The burger was hefty but all of the ingredients seemed fresh. A really satisfying meal. read more

Food was great to be honest. I love all the various options and thd idea of picking from multiple restaurants. The cost was very reasonable and I like that you can track your order. Here is my biggest issue - LOCATION! They have decided to put this in Flatbush where there are so many Black, Jamaican, Haitian, Trinidadian, etc small businesses that NEED to be highlighted and getting praised. Now they have to compete with the likes of Michael Symon and Bobby Flay. They needa find a way to support the restaurant industry in the communities they disrupt for me to continue to support. read more

I've ordered from two "restaurants" that are located inside Wonder's food hall so far and enjoyed both experiences. Aside from the food which I will get into, their lack of delivery fees and the ability to order from multiple spots in one go is extremely convenient. Am I thrilled that it's most definitely going to contribute to gentrification and the displacement of locally owned businesses that have already been suffering? Absolutely not. But hopefully, they'll start to partner with smaller names and maybe contribute to the community in other ways. My first order was from Limesalt which is most definitely a Chipotle dupe. There are only minor differences in flavor (a liiiiitle lacking) and pricing, (they're cheaper.) I got a bowl with barbacoa and added chicken which is my go to at Chipotle. Too many toppings to list. I also got a side of guac and their chips. The one thing I really didn't like was that the customization doesn't allow you to choose if you want something on the side. There were some things I just assumed would come separately, like their version of sour cream and their salsas. But, everything arrived in one bowl and I usually don't eat right away so I had to scrape off as much of the "cold" toppings to prevent everything from getting soggy. I would never willingly order a bowl to go with everything on it so it certainly wasn't the *best* experience but still good. The chicken needed way more salt but the barbacoa was pretty much on par with what you get at Chipotle and tbh, so was everything else. Not in a bad way though. So I would suggest they follow the recipe that's already out there, lol. Their chips were great because the bag comes sealed- no staleness. Guac was perfect in flavor, just a little too much oil. Second order was from Walnut Lane. I got the Roasted Salmon with Butter Beans and two sides of cilantro lime rice from Limesalt. The salmon could've been cooked less for sure but the flavor was there. The butter beans reminded me of channa with a little Mediterranean flair from the lemon and herbs, the breadcrumbs added the perfect amount of texture. It paired perfectly with some rice. Walked by and spotted this place. Ordered later online for pickup, super easy. Lots of great options. I love a food hall / ghost kitchen where you can order from multiple restaurants, mix it up. The pasta I ordered was excellent. Good size portion with a generous amount of fresh clams. The salad was not at all as described or pictured. I reached out to customer service after I got home (and saw the actual sad salad) and they offered me a credit. Disappointing but glad they were helpful. I'd eat there in a pinch, they have a few tables. The vibe is a bit sterile and fluorescent, also very clean and shiny brand new. It's a good option for pick up or delivery. read more

I had exceptional service at this location recently. I've been here several times, and always come away relatively pleased, but in this case, I felt that the service was above and beyond. The order was prepared quickly, the food was delicious, and portions were generous. However, even more so, the employees were kind and generous. We had family in town who were new to Wonder and joined in on the order. They were raving about the options, quality of service, and quality of food. Ordered 3 dishes- none were anything like described or shown in photos. Salmon with white beans was dry as a bone no sauce at all, though a good portion. Spinach and artichoke dip came with no chips and was a bowl of sautéed spinach with a bit of artichoke and cheese on top. Brussels sprouts were ok but paired with limp fatty bacon just not what you expect with the names attached to this brand. I'd be embarrassed. there's plenty of great independent restaurants in the city that deserve support rather than this corporate bs that just spent over 100 million to buy Grubhub and Seamless and can't even make good food. read more

Since it's new to the neighborhood they were offering a deep discount so I decided to treat myself to spendier meal than I might normally. Unfortunately my steak and potatoes both arrived so salty that they were basically inedible. Steak was a little under what I requested but, honestly it was fine with me but the amount of salt and tiny portions for the price made me vow to never order from them again. With a 50% discount it still cost almost $30. I told Customer Service in my requestedreview, and they sent me $10... Which I also vowed never to use except I got tempted one night because they're only 15 minutes from my apartment. Round two was also a disappointment, with the one fried item I got seeming old and reheated and the fresh salad item I got from their new January specific seeming bowl spot was pretty disgusting actually. Got three different dressings to try and all of them were not prepared correctly (separated, congealed, seasoned badly) and the salad was not fresh, with whole chunks of Romain core in the bottom including the root bit that that literally know when I've ever met eats. Even under nourished on a Friday night the food just didn't hold up and it was extremely expensive even with the discount. The ideas kind of cool if it delivered anywhere near the quality of food I would expect from any of these chefs real restaurants. If I was them I'd be seriously embarrassed for any of this food to have my name on it. Also ironically what I ordered wasn't my first choice because they ran out of rice... at seemingly all of the restaurants. So now I've tried four of the restaurants on two separate occasions and all of it was both disappointing and only marginally edible.
