Vegetairian Mary Lou burger with side salad, mmm!

Wolfes definately do the best burgers in Northern Ireland! The perfect spot for pre-cinema dinners, casual dates and family outings. If you're not a big fan of burgers they also have a small selection of other dishes however I haven't yet tried these as going to Wolfes & not ordering a burger is a sin in my eyes! I'm a vegetarian and usually hate all vege-burgers but these are always top notch & i don't feel like i'm missing out. Their side salads with the pineapple is also super yummy! Oh, and the coffee's are amazing

This place is a great place to take the family or your friends for a good bite to eat before the cinema! The sign of a good place is whenever you walk in that the place is always full and bustling with life, and this is definately the case here. Wolfe's specialise mainly in providing American style burgers, but they also have a few specialities like lamb and fish burgers, aswell as other usual restaurant fare including lasagne and salads for those who aren't of the carnivorous variety( though if you are a vegetarian in here, you have probably got lost!) Burgers come in a huge variety of options, with my personal favourite beef burger coming topped with cheese, BBQ sauce, bacon and tabacco onions. The staff are friendly and there is a well stocked bar and good toilet and bathroom facilities. If you want a solid meal that won't break the bank in Dundonald you cant go far wrong with Wolfe's!

    Hickory beef burger...very tasty

I've been to Wolfes a few times and found the food to be beautiful on all occasions. The Titanic Burger and the Hickory Burger are my favourites. The kids menu is great too, plenty of choice and they get a good sized portion. For dessert I ordered a chocolate mountain sundae to share with my niece. There was so much cream on top that we could barely get to the ice cream and just gave up trying in the end. I'm sure if it wasn't piled high with cream it would have been lovely. The decor is really cool, it's dinosaur themed which my niece loves. The staff are fab, so friendly!

I've been to Wolfe's a few times and I have to say that the food is nice and tasty. They would maily do burgers, but I noticed that they have steaks on the menu and someone got themselves an All Day Breakfast! I went for a Canadian Chicken Burger and it was tasty, comes with cheese, bacon, tobacco onions and lettuce. For dessert, I went for a Hot Chocolate Fudge with Vanilla Ice Cream and it was nice too! The restaurant was nice inside, but it is dinosaur themed and the staff were decent serving us and I would highly recommend that restaurant.

This is a family favourite. Great lively environment, decent background music and so kid friendly. This visit I had beef brisket and chicken on a bed of cheesy mash. I will definitely be getting this again. My husband usually looks through the menu and then gets the same thing every time- hickory burger, no cheese!!! There is a good selection of kids meals. The toilets were moved upstairs a while back which was needed as the stairs were lethal. We will definitely be back soon.

The venue gives off a welcoming vibe with its red brick walls and candle lights creating an intimate atmosphere. They also have a spacious alfresco dining out front for those hot summer night as it was tonight. For starter I had crispy chilli beef (with lime & coriander mayonnaise). This delicious salad was bursting with flavour. Chillies and lime - beef has never tasted so good! And Scallops the richness of the black pudding is magic with the clean taste of the scallops - delicious! My main of lamb rump was a good sized serve. Worth having again! I also managed to swipe a taste of the Barbary duck breast I can vouch that it was melt-in-the-mouth perfect and came with a very generous amount of the sauce, fondant potato & vegetables. When it came to dessert Chocolate mouse though, was an absolute knock-out. I had a really good night and excellent service from Ben and his team! I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu, including the Sunday roast and bring my son as kids eat free! 405 Upper Newtonards Road, Tel: 02890671105

I had the 6oz chicken Memphis burger and it was huge! The 12oz was also ordered at my table and it was massive! Not one for the faint hearted. It was delicious. Dimmed with a vegetarian friends and on first glance the menu appeared to have no veggie options but after asking the waitress she let us know that there was separate menu for vegetarians and a decent selection. The staff were excellent and even helped to resolve a problem we had with our order (my fault, not theirs) in excellent style. Overall nice to see an American eatery executed with the quality and service you would expect to find.

Maybe I've been watching too many American films... My boyfriend, his parents, his granda and I all descended upon Blue Chicago for my boyfriend's 21st birthday lunch. On a chilly Sunday in January, this place was absolutely packed! We were led to a small booth, which was far too tiny for all five of us, but were moved when another, larger booth had been vacated. This style of restaurant doesn't allow for big groups mind you, and even in the bigger booth, we were slightly cramped. However, the friendly waitresses (not a roller-skate in sight) were great, and the food was delicious. Chicken goujons, salad and steak were all had at our table...not a critical comment about any of them. The portions were huge, particularly for lunchtime, but I love getting my money's worth, so that was definitely a plus. Without a doubt, the best moment was when the 60s soft rock music was replaced by an incredibly cheesy version of 'Happy Birthday'. It did take me a few moments to realise that the huge cake coming towards us was for my boyfriend, who was slightly embarrassed by this stage. Obviously his parenst had arranged this with the restaurant, but it really was a lovely touch. Grabbing some cake, my boyfriend and I rolled out of Blue Chicago, our stomachs fit to burst. I'll definitely be doing that sometime again soon. Perhaps not the rolling though.

I walked up the dark stairs to be greeted by one of the most friendly waitresses you are ever likely to meet. She sat me at a table of four even though I was on my own which made me feel less of a loser. I sat down and browsed the menu made up of various burgers. I was going to go for the double cheese burger when the waitress came over and showed me their offer. A double cheese burger, fries and a drink for £8! Unreal! I obviously went for that deal, helpfully guided by the waitress. The food took about 10 minutes to come, the chips were served on a tray and the burger dame covered in foil. Packed lunch style! The chips were deep fried but still had a potatoey consistency. The burger was American style just the way I like it. A soft bun and a tender burger patty with plenty of fresh salad. Incredible! The decor is dive style! Think graffiti! They have an alcohol licence too so if you fancy a beer and burger knock yourself out! Easy five stars, for service alone. I sort of found it strange that this place opened around the time that Five Guys appeared in Victoria Square, given that it has basically the exact same menu as Five Guys, with the exact same idea of it being a sort of "build your own" with as many toppings as you want. Kind of felt like they were trying to ride the coat-tails of Five Guys, but unfortunately they don't seem to be doing a very good job of it. It has the same high price as Five Guys (for 2 people, one having a double burger with bacon, the other having a single burger with cheese, some angry fries to share and two milkshakes, it was £24), but unfortunately it doesn't quite have as much of an appeal in terms of the quality of the food. The burgers are quite dry, they're extremely messy, which isn't a great thing if you're trying not to spill it all over yourself, the redeemer is the crack sauce which is pretty great. The fries are strange, they're the same quality as you would get from a good chip shop, but I don't think they goes very well with the whole American restaurant aesthetic they're going for. Really, if you're wanting to support local, eat here. If you're wanting to have something a bit more put together but for the exact same price, go eat at Five Guys.
