Anywhere offering a full, separate, dedicated Vegetarian menu with eight main courses listed gets an immediate thumbs up from me. I've been wanting to try Wolfes for ages as I'd heard their Vegetarian menu's excellent - and it is. Burgers, salads, pasta, fajitas, jambalaya and wraps are available plus there are a range of sides suitable for Veggies too. So much selection I could hardly decide what to choose when I visited this evening, Thursday 21.04.2016. Eventually I opted for the Veggie Diner Burger which is a huge bean burger in a bun with smoked applewood cheese, BBQ sauce, peppadew peppers and shoestring onions. It was massive, tasty and greasy in a good way. Totally satisfying junk food and given that it came with a side for £10.99 was great value for money. Sides of chunky chips and garden salad were delish. Decor is traditional American diner style, although all the kid orientated dinosaur murals don't appeal to me, kids no doubt will love them. Staff were nice and service quick. All in all a pleasant visit and a good spot for quick, convenient, filling food with great Vegetarian options. read more

Wow. This place has got better !! Portions are bigger than ever. Flavours are great. And price is fab for what you get. They are the second best for burgers that I have had in Belfast. (Rocket and Relish is first). I usually order hickory burger. Thought would break out and go for pulled pork wrap this time. Came with a side,onion rings and coleslaw. Was lush. Would order again. Pulled pork can be dry sometimes. This was nice and moist. Came with garlic potato cubes. Had just the right amount of garlic. Saw someone order a breakfast. Have to try breakfast here to see what it's like. Staff are decent. Seating is quite tight. Menu is quite hard to read. read more

Wolfes definately do the best burgers in Northern Ireland! The perfect spot for pre-cinema dinners, casual dates and family outings. If you're not a big fan of burgers they also have a small selection of other dishes however I haven't yet tried these as going to Wolfes & not ordering a burger is a sin in my eyes! I'm a vegetarian and usually hate all vege-burgers but these are always top notch & i don't feel like i'm missing out. Their side salads with the pineapple is also super yummy! This place is a great place to take the family or your friends for a good bite to eat before the cinema! The sign of a good place is whenever you walk in that the place is always full and bustling with life, and this is definately the case here. Wolfe's specialise mainly in providing American style burgers, but they also have a few specialities like lamb and fish burgers, aswell as other usual restaurant fare including lasagne and salads for those who aren't of the carnivorous variety( though if you are a vegetarian in here, you have probably got lost!) Burgers come in a huge variety of options, with my personal favourite beef burger coming topped with cheese, BBQ sauce, bacon and tabacco onions. The staff are friendly and there is a well stocked bar and good toilet and bathroom facilities. We this place! My partner and I have been coming to Wolfe's in Dundonald for 4 years now, so we aren't so much writing about a single specific visit, but our overall experience from many visits (we've calmed down a bit now, but at one point we ate here once a week. We aren't exactly local to Dundonald either, it's a bit of a drive to us, so that just says how great the place is. The theme is American but they have something for everyone of the menu, so many burgers, amazing choice, and lots of items on the 'something different' section for those who aren't in the mood for or not keen on burgers. One of my faves is the Beef and Bird stack - beef brisket so tender it is absolutely falling apart, chicken goujons, piled on top of cheesy mash and onion rings, and smothered in gravy, it is absolutely divine! They also have a separate menu for kids and are a very child friendly restaurant. They recently had a Dino themed revamp. The place is looking great! It's also big for birthday parties and great for groups. The service is always attentive and you never have to go chasing for extra drinks etc. Love this place :) read more

I've been to Wolfes a few times and found the food to be beautiful on all occasions. The Titanic Burger and the Hickory Burger are my favourites. The kids menu is great too, plenty of choice and they get a good sized portion. For dessert I ordered a chocolate mountain sundae to share with my niece. There was so much cream on top that we could barely get to the ice cream and just gave up trying in the end. I'm sure if it wasn't piled high with cream it would have been lovely. The decor is really cool, it's dinosaur themed which my niece loves. The staff are fab, so friendly! read more

I've been to Wolfe's a few times and I have to say that the food is nice and tasty. They would maily do burgers, but I noticed that they have steaks on the menu and someone got themselves an All Day Breakfast! I went for a Canadian Chicken Burger and it was tasty, comes with cheese, bacon, tobacco onions and lettuce. For dessert, I went for a Hot Chocolate Fudge with Vanilla Ice Cream and it was nice too! The restaurant was nice inside, but it is dinosaur themed and the staff were decent serving us and I would highly recommend that restaurant. read more

This is a family favourite. Great lively environment, decent background music and so kid friendly. This visit I had beef brisket and chicken on a bed of cheesy mash. I will definitely be getting this again. My husband usually looks through the menu and then gets the same thing every time- hickory burger, no cheese!!! There is a good selection of kids meals. The toilets were moved upstairs a while back which was needed as the stairs were lethal. We will definitely be back soon. read more

If you like your burgers, Wolfes is the place to head to. You've got your regular beef burgers, with the likes of the Belfast (bacon, cheese and egg), and the Swiss Mountain (garlic mushrooms, cheese, onions), as well as your chicken burgers (Southern Fried, Battered and Chargrilled varieties), or indeed the veggie burgers. So I decided to go for Ma Ma's American Fried Chicken strips. Yes, I know, I know...it's a burger bar. But none of the burgers really appealed to me, and I'm much more of a chicken fan. Sorry. I wasn't overly excited with my chicken dish. It was fair enough, but it certainly wasn't anything to write home about, so I was slightly disappointed. Another aspect of Wolfes that annoyed me was the fact that when we came in (to a fairly busy restaurant, granted), the two of us were given menus and told to sit in the waiting area until a table was ready. However, despite being pretty busy, there were plenty of tables, and I could not understand why we were forced to wait 15 minutes for one. As soon as we got the table, the staff were lovely and everything went swimmingly, so all was not lost. Wolfes just didn't cut it for me, but my sister has been on numerous occasions and absolutely loves it. Not sure where I went wrong, but, by all means give it a try. read more

Was a grand night. It is an American Diner. it is what it is - Burgers piled with onion rings, and cheese, sauce and french fries. The printed menu itself could be better, all options are listed in capital letters including descriptions with obscure and annoying fonts which makes deciding what to eat, slightly more difficult. Take your kids and your appetite and dig in! Wolfes is perfect for before of after the cinema and has the American diner kind of feel which kids love. When we visited, the waitress brought over crayons and paper straight away which meant that the adults could actually get to read the menu without a million interruptions and yells of 'what can I have?'. There are lots of burgers on the menu, and interestingly they also do lamb and fish burgers. You can also 'lose the bap' and just have a chicken breast but this carb lover has never lost the bap! The Orleans chicken burger is my favourite mountain of food - bacon, cheese, bbq sauce and shoestring onions and I think there may have been some salad which I managed to avoid. The chunky chips I ordered were probably an overindulgence but potatoes count as one of your five a day, right? I valiantly soldiered on and had the chocolate brownie and ice cream for dessert - another winner and another clean plate just like my mummy taught me. Staff didn't bat an eyelid when the kids with us got kinda noisy which made for a stress free evening for us but maybe not the people at the next table and happily brought endless jugs of tap water and extra straws to replace the ones being kicked round the floor. Wolfes has got it just right- family friendly without the frozen chicken nuggets. Instead you get a warm welcome and really good fresh foods that adults will love. read more

These days convenience is key and that's exactly what Wolfe's offers. With a huge car park and a prime location next to the cinema Wolfe's is always busy. When I visited Wolfe's we had to wait while they cleared a table, but this isn't something I particularly mind as it generally means the food is worth waiting for. Portions are big but the sides are extra dosh - I ordered a side of chicken wings to accompany my burger but my eyes were bigger than my belly and I begrudgingly had to admit defeat. The staff at Wolfe's are brilliant - attentive and knowledgeable about the menu - don't be afraid to ask for their input on your order - the menu is so vast that you might need some help deciding! I ended up going for the 'Captain Jack' and I do not regret it! To summary; As my mum would say - 'Don't be greedy', Get there early especially if you have cinema tickets booked and don't be afraid to ask what the staff would recommend when ordering. read more

Great place for a quick bite. Ordered nachos as starter. They weren't great. Not proper nachos, they were more like dry crackers and had been under the grill for too long. Being a burger fan this place hit the spot. The decor is nice, staff friendly and food nice. Burgers can be ordered in 6 and 12 oz, obviously I opted for the 12oz at around £10.99, and chips were extra at around £2.50. The chips were just a small portion, but this was OK as the burger was filling, though if I opted for the 6oz I might have been left unfilled. Up in Belfast for the day and stopped here along with my fiancée and our friends. First class service and food. I had the ranch burger, my fiancée had the chicken in a basket and the other two had the Wolfe pack chicken burgers.
