This place serves food pretty late compared to a lot of Montreal, so got a burger and a drink here and it was great! Felt bad getting food right before the kitchen closed but they were very kind and it came super quick. Burger was delicious, I could really tell it was grilled as it had an awesome smokey flavor. Fries were soggy but in a good way, and they gave a lot!! Also got a creme brulee for my gf and I had a bite and of course it was good! Inside was great with all these cool people at the bar, I would definitely love to watch a game there or something.
Unique area and restaurant but mediocre beers. But the atmosphere made up for dril on tap. Great customer service !
We had a fun late lunch here, great drinks, great food, great service. Special highlights for me were the double Bloody Caesars (made with love!) and the hummus appetizer. Wonderful!
Fabulous pub in Vieux-Montréal (Old Montreal). If you are lucky enough to be staying at Hotel Nelligan, it is across the street and a few doors down. My date and I hung out at the bar before and after a dinner out in the neighborhood. Try the Wolf Old Fashioned. Yum! Great vibe, great drinks, nice bartenders, good conversation at the bar. Great recommendation by front desk at Hotel Nelligan.
Wolf & Workman was on a recommendation list provided by my hotel in Old Port, Montreal. I stopped by for lunch since it was close by. They had a beautiful courtyard seating area in the back of the restaurant. Service was good. Sorry, I know servers hate getting hit with the "what are your recommendations" question, but I, as a foreigner, had to ask. She explained that the popular items are the pot pies. I ended up getting the fisherman pie $29. The ingredients were good, but tbh it slightly fishy. I love seafood, but even I was getting a tad nauseous toward the end. I shared the Scotch egg $17, which was interesting to try. The Archibald belle mer IPA $9.75 was great! I loved the fruity taste and the hoppiness. Bathroom entrance in courtyard. Wifi available - ask for password Credit card/Apple Pay accepted.
Remarkably local if somewhat high-end joint catering to hockey fans as well as tourists. The atmosphere feels suitably rustic for this end of town, with a fire in the hearth and homey, stick to your ribs dishes. For us, the fisherman's pie had generous helpings of fish and mussels; the salad nicoise was "delicious" and the chicken tikka masala was "flavorful and filling." Washed that down with a Goose Island IPA and a glass of white wine du jour. A great, friendly bilingual server. On the whole, a memorable and worthwhile experience. We'll be back.
We came here for lunch recently and loved the experience. The patio had a nice ambiance with pretty chairs and tables and a nice greenery decorating the terrace. The service was a bit slow but they were packed when we were there. All the food was good....the salmon, the burger and fries and the chicken pot pie. They had a good selection of drinks and cocktails to choose from. Located a bit away from the main touristy (and loud) area of St Paul in Old Montreal, it's a nice quiet place for a meal.
This review is a bit overdue. I visited in October of 2024. All the dishes were disappointing and the beer that I ordered came out flat that I had to send it back. Pork chop had a huge chunk of fat embedded and barely any meat and the sauce was lacking flavors. I do know that pork chops usually have a pretty big portion of fat but my order had an unacceptable ratio of fat to meat. The steak was overcooked and dry and the salad that came with it wasn't fresh, which shows in my photo. The zucchini pasta was extremely bland and had no flavor whatsoever. Tip: This place has rotating menu so all the dishes that I wanted to try were not on the menu when I visited so I'd recommend checking out their current menu offering before visiting.
I went after hearing good things at a dinner and then seeing pics of the beef stroganoff pot pie. I went early (4:30ish) on a Sunday. I waited a minute or so for the host but was promptly at the bar. This is a well lit bar with lots of dark wood and pictures. I got a cider which was on tap. I don't remember the name but it was light and mildly sweet. Wanting some veggies I ordered the butternut squash and Romano croquettes. These were so savory with the pickled onion giving some bite texturally and acidly. Fortunately for me the beef stroganoff pot pie was available a little early so I was able to order it. The pot pie is huge and stuffed with tender beef. It hit all the right notes and completely lived up to my hopes. The crust was crisp and tender. Wolf & Workman is a gastropub worth a visit - even winding through the construction.
Got into Montreal in the evening and stumbled upon this gem while looking for a place for dinner. There was a good crowd upon our arrival, but we were able to get seated pretty quickly. Our party of four started with the burrato appetizer, made from locally sourced cheese and tomatoes, which was incredible. For a main dishes, we got the chicken pot pie, the chicken, tikka masala, the cheeseburger with fries, and the pasta with clam sauce. All of the meals presented well and tasted great. The chicken pot pie was the star of the show and is highly recommended. Excellent service from our waitress and all the friendly staff. I would highly recommend a visit and a seating in their garden section.
Had to try the chicken pot pie after seeing pictures of many, and it was so good! The pastry is so puffy, got so many flaky layers, and perfect for the rich chicken pot pie. Very filling and yummy! I also got the winter pear spritz cocktail, which was refreshing! Service was great! Both the bartender and the waitress are warm and welcoming Ambience is also warm and relaxing from decor to music. Didn't sit outside but it's also cold. Next time! Highly recommended!
Great food and friendly service. We had the salmon gravlax, eggplant croquettes, Cornish game hen and crème brûlée. every dish was spectacular, but they also highly recommend recommended the pot pies, which we will try the next time.
This was our first dinner in Montreal, and was by far our best meal of the trip. The burrata romesco was incredible, and the chicken pot pie was stunning. The fisherman's pie was tasty, but the chicken took the prize. our old fashioned and my violet underground cocktails were top notch, and even the rose and nut lemonade was a delight (they ran out of almond and substituted maple syrup which was even better!) The staff were all warm and helpful in such a busy place, and we so appreciated it. Thanks!

The ambience was exactly what one would like on a beautiful day where you are outside in a busy but lovely space. The Scottish egg was amazing with the current and went well with a delightful Guiness draft. read more

I thought I understood the plan. We arrived at Wolf & Workman and I spotted the outdoor tables in front. Ah. Dog seating. I know how this works. But then something unexpected happened. They took me INSIDE. Through the restaurant. And out the other side into this absolutely fantastic hidden courtyard. Excuse me?? Why did nobody tell me we had upgraded accommodations? The back patio is one of those spaces you'd never know existed from the street. There are stone walls, greenery climbing everywhere, strings of lights overhead and some seriously cool artwork and murals. It feels tucked away from the bustle of Old Montreal and, once the lights came on, had a really warm, relaxed atmosphere. Most importantly, nobody seemed remotely concerned that a tiny Italian Greyhound had joined the dinner party. I was welcomed right in. Mum ordered the trout over couscous, which looked extremely impressive. She did give me some of the trout. Dad ordered the steak frites. I repeat: Dad ordered steak. At a dog-friendly restaurant. While sitting next to a dog. He did not share. I feel like we've covered this issue before. Dad had wine, Mum had a Diet Coke, and I spent much of dinner curled up comfortably with Mum while monitoring the steak situation. There were developments. None favorable to me. But Wolf & Workman is exactly the kind of place we're always hoping to find when traveling: somewhere the humans don't have to compromise on having a genuinely great dinner just because I'm with them. This wasn't simply "there are a couple of tables outside where you can put the dog." I got the good patio. Dogba's verdict: 5 paws out of 5. Dog welcome: enthusiastic Surprise hidden courtyard: exceptional Murals: excellent photo opportunities Evening atmosphere: Mum approved Mum's trout: apparently delicious Dad ordering steak in my presence: provocative Wine for Dad: yes Steak for Dogba: I'd prefer not to discuss it Would absolutely return. Although next time, when someone says Wolf & Workman, I expect considerably more attention to the wolf portion of the clientele. read more
Stopped in for a late night crème brûlée and loved the vibes here! It was pretty busy and the bar was full, so we were sat at a table in the corner and got to people watch. We got there right before the kitchen closed but we got our order in just in time and I appreciate our waiter and the kitchen for the excellent quick service! read more

This is a beautiful little pub style cafe with a lot of character. The place was very busy despite being in the middle of a road under construction in the restaurant row of old town Montreal. We had a delicious appetizer with sumac-flavored falafel, hummus, pickled turnips, pita and pomegranate seeds. The star of the show was the Italian wedding soup! Wow! Amazing. Get your own and don't share! The homemade focaccia bread on the side is a lovable co-star. Salad was bright and interesting, but chicken was "meh." Burger was good, but not great. Staff is amazing! They seat, serve, clean - and do it all at warp speed! read more
First real pub experience in Montreal. Came for lunch with a friend on a Wednesday late afternoon. Place was not super busy, plenty of tables occupied in the back terrace. Ordered the chicken pot pie and my friend had the steak with a side of fries. Pros: - chicken pot pie $28 was searing hot and so delicious and filling - steak $MP was done perfectly - searing was very comfortable with the heat lamp turned on Notes: - service was on the slower side, to be fair- it got busier with more patrons coming into his area - Americano $5 had a really weak shot of espresso. I should have known better than to order coffee at a pub read more

Stopped in here for drinks before a dinner reservation, very cool vibes in this place and the service was great! Also had an order of fries that were top notch, didn't eat full meals so we can't speak to that but if they're anything like the drinks you couldn't go wrong. read more

Great British pub that had some solid brunch options - we stopped by for a pint and a bite and were so glad we did! Food-wise, we shared the Yank Breakfast and Scotch Egg, both were so good. Solid beer/cider on draft! Would recommend. read more
Drinks, ambiance, and our personal server all made this place a memorable spot for my boyfriend, my friend, and I this past Sunday night. We had the opportunity to sit in the back patio and it was phenomenal. We only ordered drinks here, but they were all great (we tried each other's drinks). The food looked good when looking at other's tables. Would definitely recommend. read more

We had a fantastic meal here! We ended up looking for dinner late on Labor Day and we were glad to find this place open and offering all day happy hour! This restaurant has more of a bar/pub feel inside, but they have a gorgeous patio that provides more of a bistro vibe. We ate on the patio and had two fantastic servers! I started with their happy hour spritz, which was a unique taste on a classic spritz. For the appetizer, we shared the Mezze Plate, which was one of the best things I ate on this entire trip. The feta, pistachios, and pomegranate seeds on the hummus made for an incredible flavor! The falafels were a bit too spicy though. For dinner I had the fattoush salad, which was deliciously light and fresh. The dressing needed a bit more lemon to be a true fattoush salad, but this was a delicious salad and some very needed freshness after a few days of eating heavy Canadian dishes. My dad had the pork shop and he enjoyed it as well. Overall a great meal! read more
Great ambience What a classy pub and restaurant inside .. Stopped here on a rainy summer night and sat outside (under a cover) for a quick dinner before going to a light show at the Cathedral. The vibe was fun and lively and but it wasn't overly loud or boisterous. The table next to us got some shrimp thing (see picture) that looked good so we ordered that and it was delicious. For my main, I had a chorizo pasta which was super tasty. There was a good drink and beer menu too. Service was friendly but a little bit spotty, but our waiter was super busy and the environment was great so I can't complain. I enjoyed Wolf and Workman. read more

Highly rated pub in Montreal that had great ambiance and felt cozy. Dropped by for dinner without a reservation but got seated promptly. The chicken pot pie was piping hot and gigantic! The chicken tikka was good but not great but can't expect that from a pub lol. Would definitely come back to try the drinks and other dishes. read more

This was the best brunch I had on my trip to Quebec. Cannot recommend the shakshuka enough. It was hearty & flavorful. The service here was great, they had a lovely patio, and lots of options on the menu. My friend enjoyed her sandwich and we both enjoyed the sausage we shared. If they had brunch every day, I would have been back for more! read more

Great little brunch spot in Old Montreal. They have a cute terrace in the back to eat outdoor and enjoy the nice weather, but is also private so other people can't walk by and see you. For drinks, I recommend the pornstar martini. It's a sweet drink that goes great with the food. For the food, my family and I ordered the Howard Scotch Egg, Omelette Aux Champignons, and the Le "Full English Breakfast". What interested us was the Scotch egg which was cooked beautifully. The egg was perfectly runny when you cut into it and the sausage went great to soak up the egg with the salad. I enjoyed the English breakfast which is great to share with people as it has a bunch of proteins to eat. The Omelette is a great classic breakfast to have. The mushrooms were a great mix with the sauce and salad that comes with it. If you're looking for some good food and drinks for brunch, this is the place to go. The terrace is a cute spot to enjoy your brunch with friends. read more

Ahhh Sunday funday in Montreal! This was a spot that lot of people come to since just about every table was taken. We had reservations but were able to get in earlier. The service here (and in Montreal all together) is veryyy lax so it can take a while to be attended to. I ordered an orange mimosa and the classic breakfast with the most delicious bacon I've ever had. This is a such a great place to have breakfast while in the Old Montreal area. read more

Oh my gosh! Had a delicious brunch at Wolf and Workman. Actually chose to eat here based on the recommendations of fellow Yelpers. Wanted to sit outside, but there are no tables. No problem, we were very comfortable sitting inside where we got excellent service. The restaurant is a beautifully decorated pub with lots to look at. I was delighted to see a Howard Scotch Egg on the menu. It was actually a duck egg, maple syrup sausage and Branston chutney. It comes with an arugula salad. I subbed that out for a side salad. The egg was delicious! I had a local Stout. My sister had a Bloody and the "Croisandwich" and she really enjoyed her choice. would return without hesitation. read more
