If someone had told me before my trip to Amsterdam that stir-fried Chinese food in a wok was one of the foods that the Dutch got absolutely spot on, I would've laughed my ass off. And yet it is I who will freely admit...they got it right and then some. I knew I had found the right place when there was a consistent line out the door here. The concept is simple enough. Choose your noodles/meats or vegetables/sauce/toppings, let them throw it all in a wok, and let them whip up some magic. It's pretty similar to Mongolian BBQ in that sense. Really though, it's the quality that stands out. You can tell all the ingredients are super fresh even before they throw it in the wok because they scoop up everything right in front of you. That quality really stands out once you get the final product, and made me overlook the fact that this is actually kinda on the expensive side for casual food. I guess my only gripe is that it's not exactly all that big, but of course in such a high traffic area you take what you can get with regards to available space. With the size of the place being so much, it's definitely NOT a sit-down restaurant. There are four seats and two tables inside, but with how crowded it gets in here I wouldn't really recommend sitting down. Mainly, the boxes are designed with the intention of being eaten on the go. I am definitely going to come back when I visit Amsterdam...or any location they have in Europe...or any of their three New York locations. It's really that good!

One of the best Chinese food places in general...not just from Amsterdam BUT in general....BUENO. You pick the following when you order: Type of noodles -I got rice noodles- same noodles as the kind that comes with Pad Thai Toppings- I got the shiitake mushrooms, roast pork (fatty portions- LOVE), bamboo shoots (tasted like ones from cans but not bad), shrimp, beef, fried onions, and fried garlic. I recommend roast pork and shiitake mushrooms. Sauce- I have tried the Teriyaki and the hot sauce. I prefer the hot sauce one but I like really flavorful foods. You will prob end up spending around ~15 but it is worth the price. Decent amount of food and it's good quality. Service is fast. Get a hot sauce packet. I came here THREE times in the 2 days I stayed in downtown Amsterdam. Also...it is a chain store. I went to three different stores because I didn't know it was a chain and couldn't tell which one I had to go based off the address =/

Great place for late night cheap eats while in Amsterdam. There are several locations within walking distance from Amsterdam Central and they are open until 2 AM! There were a couple of bars next to this location so we were able to eat our noodles and drink some beers while enjoying the sights and sounds of the city. It isn't rocket science. You choose the following: 1) noodle type 2) proteins and/or toppings 3) sauce Simple and delicious. Perfect place to end a night after barhopping in Central Amsterdam.

Dude my wife found a chunk of glass in her food! Do not eat here! It's not clean and clearly dangerous!

I was passing through the De Wallen area and kept seeing people holding a Chinese takeout looking container. I was pretty curious where they were getting it from, and randomly found the place as I was just walking around. Wok to Walk is basically a fast food stir fry place. You basically pick your meat, starch, sauce and toppings and they quickly stir fry it in a pan and give it to you in a red to go container. The fast casual concept is really taking off in the US with made to order burritos and made to order pizzas that you get within minutes, so I'm surprised fast food stir fry hasn't popped up as well. I went with chicken, udon noodles, Tokyo sauce, and then added some fried garlic chips on top. For as fast as they prepared it, the food was pretty good quality. You would think that since the ingredients weren't in the pan together for that long, that the flavors didn't have time to come together, but it was actually pretty tasty. The udon noodles were nice and thick and there was a good amount of chicken in there. The best part is they didn't skimp on the sauce. Usually when I go to a stir-fry place I prefer to add the sauce myself because they never put enough when the restaurant does it for you, but the stir-fry here had enough sauce to coat all the noodles. Overall, Wok to Walk is an awesome concept where you can get stir-fry on the go. If they had this in Chicago I'd be gettin it all the time.

Near red light district. You order from 3 categories: noodles, toppings and sauce. They charge by the topping ex. Broccoli, chicken, mushrooms, etc. I had egg noodles, broccoli, chicken, mushrooms, with Hong Kong (sweet and sour sauce) which was about €9 for a pretty big takeout box

One of the best tasting meals I have ever had & that is NOT an overstatement! My 1st thought after my first bite..."I've never tasted anything so good". No joke!! I was so pleasantly surprised about how fresh & flavorful my food was from here. I got the egg noodles, w/ pork & shrimp, sesame seeds, garlic, vegetables & teriyaki sauce. AMAZEBALLS!!! There is hardly any seating by so don't plan to stay unless u get very lucky but still highly recommended.

I'm obsessed with this place! When I was living in Barcelona for a bit I used to get this after work ALL THE TIME. You get so much food with one order so you feel really full after finishing. I love this location cause it's super easy to order something and then sit on the canal and eat it. I could probably eat wok to walk for days, it's that good.

Authentic Dim Sum in the Heart of Amsterdam If you are looking for authentic Chinese flavors near…read morethe Red Light District/Chinatown, Oriental City is the place to go. It's a multi-level restaurant that stays packed during prime hours, which is always a good sign for the food quality. They serve Dim Sum all day, which is a huge plus. The flavors are very traditional. While the Dim Sum was solid across the board, the Beef Chow Fun was the absolute standout--perfectly prepared with that signature "wok hei" (breath of the wok). The staff isn't necessarily warm and fuzzy, but they are efficient. Don't expect a long chat, but you'll get your food quickly. Be prepared for a bit of a climb; the restaurant spans several floors and it appears to be stairs-only. It gets very crowded, so timing your visit is key. A must-visit for Chinese food fans in Amsterdam. Just be ready for a lively, busy environment!

One standout dish that truly impressed me was the Kimchi Fried Rice with Shrimp & Sweet Corn. The balance of flavors was exceptional--the tangy, spicy kick of the kimchi paired beautifully with the sweetness of the corn, while the shrimp added a perfectly tender, savory touch. Every bite was vibrant and satisfying, showcasing a creative twist on a classic comfort dish. I cannot wait for an opportunity to revisit and try their duck. It smelled and looked decadent. The ambiance is equally remarkable, blending traditional elegance with a lively, welcoming vibe. Service was attentive and friendly, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. Their menu is impressively large and the dining room is small but inviting. Prices are quite high, but you are in a tourist area. We ordered a Kung pao chicken and a chicken fried rice to share. We both had a very weird 'chemical' taste that would occasionally occur with the Kung pao but neither of us could figure out what it was. The chicken fried rice was fine but contained very little chicken. My house white wine at 4.5 was fine as well as hubby had a Heineken. The biggest issue was the many Gnats that just descended on us once our wine arrived. If you zoom in on the picture, there were quite a few just hanging out after our plate we removed. We have been to many restaurants since we arrived here and this is the first with this issue. It got even worse once our food arrived. Very irritating. Service was just ok. We were here at a weird time because we are very jet lagged and trying to get on the time zone (needed dinner early). The staff were having their dinner so we felt a bit of a nuisance. Bill was about 50 euro.
