Very Disappointed! If I could give Zero Stars I would. Completely MIA when any follow up is needed. We had our GC reach out to Wizard Screens to install a security screen door at our whole home remodel. Install was good, the guys were nice, and did a good job. When we moved in, we noticed a large gap at the bottom of the security screen door, allowing bugs, and light to enter. We asked our GC to reach out to them to repair, and initially Annette was responsive, then...radio silence. I took it upon myself to also reach out to Annette with the exact same result..Annette was more then helpful, "I want to make this right" "send me photos, and we'll get someone out there to fix it for you" "I want you to be happy". As soon as I got off the phone, I sent her what she asked for. Photos, information, etc. Then again.....radio silence. I followed up with her 3 - 4 times, and not one response. Annette had read receipts set up on her text messages, so I knew she was reading the comments, but never, ever, once responded. I tried calling, straight to voice mail. So, do with this review what you want, but please be aware, warranties, and any follow up issues you may have after install mean nothing to Annette, or Wizard Screens of San Jose. You'll be on your own. read more

I liked the screens my friend got for his Nana wall. So he told me to contact Annette at wizard screens. I called Monday 5/15 several times and left my contact info with a guy. Can't remember his name. And he said Annette will contact me. I waited...nothing. It's Wednesday 5/17 now and I left a voicemail 9:20am for Annette...nothing. So, I called again 4pm and left a message! I'm just disappointed that nobody at this company has time to call me back. Hopefully I can write an updated review if they call me back. Wizard Screens is an excellent company in every way and their screen doors are of the highest quality. My husband and I had looked for a screen door for a new french door which had been installed as part of a remodel project. The contractor said that it would be almost impossible to find a screen door since the threshold of the door had to be raised to accommodate my husband's wheelchair. We were told that a screen would be very expensive if we even could find one. After purchasing the door at Home Depot, we were contacted by someone from Wizard and the appointment was made for the door to be installed. The process was seamless and very easy. Ernie came out to install the screen door and I cannot say enough good things about him. He is extremely bright, affable and very helpful. After seeing the quality of his work , I asked him to take a look at an unusable screen door on the front door that could not be used because it had been installed incorrectly. I contacted Wizard Screens at the recommendation of the Hercules Home Depot to replace a broken sliding patio screen door. After agreeing on the product/price, I was told I could place the order at the Hercules Home Depot and not be charged for the sales tax. Paying Wizard Screens directly would result in the sales tax being charged. So, I went to the Home Depot and there was nobody working at their milling area order desk. I found a floor helper who placed a few phone calls but was unable to reach anybody who knew how to use their ordering software. The floor worker finally took us to somebody at the customer service desk, but they stated they were unable to work the software either. That person then took us outside the employee break area and had us wait while she tried to find someone to help us. Eventually I presume the GM came out and we headed back to the milling order desk. We found the Wizard Screens contractor in the order system and pulled up their product list, only to find they only listed 4 SKUs - 2 for swinging patio doors and 2 for French Doors. None of these were the products we wanted to order. The customer service rep stated we would receive an additional 10% off the order due to the hassle. Eventually the worker who was supposed to be at the order desk showed up and even he stated he had no idea which products we were talking about and could not complete the order. This entire process took over 1 hours and we walked out of the store empty-handed. I contacted Wizard Screens about this problem and provided the full details. They were offering a $25 coupon (about the price of our sales tax) on a different product than what they ordered, so I asked if there was any way they could apply this towards our order instead. Despite the trouble they put us through with the mix-up at Home Depot, ultimately the manager of Wizard Screens flat out stated they would not provide ANY discount at all to our order. In the end, Wizard Screens sent us on a wild goose chase with promises of up to a 20% discount on our order (10% sales tax + 10% discount Home Depot offered, about $80 off), but in the end were unwilling to make good on their promises. Buyer beware - there are far more reputable contractors who do screen door installations than Wizard Screens that can give you a much better price. read more

We bought the custom at Home Depot on Saturday, they called us three hours later to make an appt and installed it two days later. The customer service is top notch! First of all, the installer had to come out twice. The first time because the door opening wasn't prepared correctly (my fault entirely!). Then we had to reschedule twice! Also totally my fault. Finally, everything was ready, the installer was here as scheduled and now I have this wonderful new screen door that shows off my new front door! I guess what I'm trying to say is that these people will work with you to make everything go together beautifully. The installer was great and left no mess and was really helpful in letting me know what I needed to do (on his first trip here) to insure that the install looked just right! We needed 3 screens for our upstairs bedroom. Windows installed were (I believe) replacement windows and were not installed even so putting on screens were problematic. Wizard installer had to make adjustments to get it right but he did. They look just fine now and hopefully they will last for a long time. I had a new oversized patio screen door slider installed on August 3 by Wizard Screens and it came out great! The customer service from the first interaction with Alexandra at Wizard Screens in getting my appointment set up to the installer ( I believe his name was Felix) was excellent. The installer was very thorough and took his time to make sure that the new screen was a perfect fit. The price for the screen was very fair, especially when you take into consideration that they actually made the screen door slider at my home to ensure a perfect fit, plus they take the old screen with them to dispose of. I purchases a Wizard Screen (retractable screen door) a few years ago and it was great to have a screen without the obstructed view. The sales guys swore up and down that everything was under warranty except for the actual screen. Fast forward a few years - the screen is working although retracting rather slowly. I call up the company and - surprise - everything is under warranty except for the screen and oh yeah the $100/service charge. Looks like they charge you even if the components that they said were under warranty are defective. If I knew I would have to get this screen serviced every few years, I would have but my money into a fixed screen without maintenance. The $100 charge is about 20% of the total installed cost of my screen. read more

First, the end result is very nice. HOWEVER, we were told we would receive a call 30 minutes before they arrived. Instead, they showed up, and when we asked about the call, they said "oh, we were in the area so just decided to come over." We said, "we were told we would get a call." and their attitude was, "well, we just decided to come over." Then we walked down our driveway and noticed that their van was blocking our neighbor's house, which is for sale. My wife asked them to move their van. Their response was, "the house is for sale, it's fine." My wife said that realtors, gardners, pool cleaners still come by and please move your van. They insisted, " this place is for sale, nobody is coming in." My wife then said, I don't care, move your van, and they finally relented. After the job was done, the main guy kind of smiled and said, "no one came by, see, we would have been fine." Talk about poor customer interaction and respect. I would have expected "oh, sorry, I'll move the van right away." Not an instillation guy arguing about illegally blocking a neigbor's driveway. read more

Nice guy, left me some extra foam pieces in case I needed to adjust the screens...100% satisfied. A couple of years later my screen door broke (due to a dog, not due to the door) and I needed it replaced in a hurry for an upcoming party. Called 3 times. No one every picks up. Left 3 messages, none were returned. Emailed....no luck. Not sure if this company is still in business. I was hoping to deal with them again. read more

I had a white Wizard screen installed nine years ago on an outside door. The handles have turned a very dirty, dark color and can't be cleaned. When I called the rep, he happily told me it was definitely a problem with the product, but there wasn't a thing he could do. Wizard makes different handles now and they can't be retrofitted to my door. Nor do they have any of the old one available to replace mine. What a way for a company and a rep to watch out for their customers. The rep also proceeded to instruct me on how to get my very rusted magnets working again. I tried, they never worked well and still don't work at all now. But as he told me several times, he was saving me money. I have a useless, ugly door, but look at the money I saved! read more

This is about customer service. After three emails, the very nice receptionist called me back with apologies...that is where the niceties end. I got an invoice via email, but confirmed whether the price included the pet screen. No, that would be $120 MORE!!! There goes the decent price. I emailed back to cancel. I got a call back from the same nice receptionist she apologized. That was nice, but I told her if they want to at least meet me halfway on the pricing I would reconsider. I got an email back from Alexandria saying she never spoke to me on the phone and basically tough sh*t, that is what their prices are. OK I am sure the NICE receptionist I spoke to had the SAME NAME. Either they are way confused or she has a dual personality. They also said they are the cheapest I will find everywhere around here. Bullsh*t. I wanted three of my 20-year-old window screens replaced with new ones. Those screens were available on the web for $29.95, but I thought I support a local business. I called and a woman told me to come to the store. They would have my screens ready the next day. Whomever I spoke with on the phone was not who was at the store. I specified what I wanted, she wrote up my order, charged me $43 each plus tax, and told me the order would be ready in two days, not tomorrow. When they had my screens ready, I saw they had redone my old frames. "But I specified new screens and you charged me $43," I said. The guy replied, "New screens are over $50. You only paid for re-screening your old ones." I don't know where they found their office person, but gee whiz, what a schlock outfit! No process, no internal controls. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. I saw they also claim to supply Home Depot with screens. Not only won't I ever go back to Wizard, I also won't ever consider buying screens from Home Depot. read more

I ordered screen patio door this morning at Home Depot, great service with Tim. Received a call from Wizard inside manager, a young girl, wanted estimates on the size, had some idea of measurements, however she wanted to know for certain the size. So I explained, and it was hard, she just kept talking and talking .. I am at work and just need to schedule to get the work done .. and she kept insisting .. I was taken back by the aggressive, lack of customer considerations, and just rude in her customer approach to me ... so I asked to speak to the manager, since her and I were not getting anywhere. Well not luck, she was the acting manager. Hung up and did not get a schedule date or satisfaction/assurance that the work would be scheduled. Not very good experience with this person ... Please someone help me ... hope someone that cares with this company will call me back. My invoice number at Home Depot is 1006-2211858. read more
