Sandra is without a doubt the best groomer in the area. I wouldn't trust my doggies with anyone else!

It's no coincidence there are so many reviews that include pets BLEEDING! This guy is absolutely…read moreatrocious and it seems like it's only a matter of time before he injures your pet while under his care. I took my black lab to him 3 times and he told me what most people that meet my dog tell me, "She's so easy to handle, she just stood there, she was GREAT!" So no problem right? Then appointment 4. Going to pick up my lab (who is a retired service dog just for reference) I was told that she damaged his hose and was extremely difficult. Baffled, initially I apologized and took her home, noticing her limping more than usual. (She has slight arthritis in her hind leg) I thought it was my imagination that she seemed to be favoring another paw. Safely home she lies down for a bit, when she got up it all made sense when I saw the blood stain on the carpet. This incompetent pet mercenary had cut her nails first, two of which he cut waaay too short nicked her vein and got increasingly frustrated when she no longer wanted him near her. I called back and left messages stating that I wanted to know why he didn't just take responsibility for making the kind of mistake a professional groomer shouldn't make. But he never called back. My vet confirmed my hypothesis and has also heard horror stories about this guy. So maybe you'll be fine 2-3 maybe even 4 or 5 times but he will make a mistake and hurt your pet and then blame you.

We recently boarded them with Ron for their first time and were very anxious about leaving them but Ron took care of them like their his own! He even let us pick them up at his home so we wouldn't have to wait until his shop opened up on Monday. Couldn't give a better review - excellent all around and we thank you so much for always going above and beyond Ron! Jill and Rick M

If you love or even like your dog do NOT bring them here for any reason. I brought my one year old…read morecockapoo in today for his first grooming, he had some matting behind his ears but besides that he just needed a bath. I dropped him off at 9:30am and they left him sitting until around noon. At 12:45 I got a nonchalant call from the front desk saying my puppy had a " nickel sized hole cut into his ear and would need to be seen by a vet". The staff workers begrudgingly answered my questions about what had occurred and seemed absolutely unfazed by the injury, leading me to believe that this is not a rare occurrence. My puppy had to get stitches all alone at the vet due to covid 19 rules. He has to take a strong antibiotic for 10 days and the vet also said he had signs of heat exhaustion and dehydration. When I dropped him off they assured me he would be safe, in a controlled temperature room, and would have access to water. This was all a lie. Today the temperature reached 95 degrees and I can only assume the dogs at this facility were left outside or in an un air conditioned room without access to water for extended periods of time. When we arrived at the vet, he also found cuts on my dog that they hadn't told us about under his ears. The vet was easily able to remove the matts behind his ears and said that this was negligence on the employees parts. They didn't even begin to remove the matting or bathe him in any way, this means that after they left him sitting for hours they immediately cut his ear and sent him home...This was my dogs first experience being away from our family and he is traumatized to say the least. STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

But, most importantly, Cooper likes them. No cages are used which is a big deal for Cooper. He was a rescue from an Amish puppy mill where he spent the first 6 months of his life in a cage! That was more than enough, and I promised him no more cages! Before I found Kim, about 10 years ago, it took the groomers 3 hours AND, when I pushed my way into their grooming area, I saw cages upon cages filled with dogs. I think poor Cooper was terrified that he was back in a puppy mill. When I saw that, I understood why he wouldn't walk in on his own. I asked if he could join the Doggie Day Care until it was his time and they said no! I would have to pay for a full day's care! I was NOT happy! And that's when I accidentally drove by Shaggy Chic. It was a very happy accident! Kim and Pepper really care about the animals they groom, and it shows. Over the years word has spread, and right now they're not accepting new clients. My best friend was very happy that she became a client shortly before they had to stop accepting new clients. So, keep them in mind for the future. I, for one, intend to keep right on going every 6 weeks with Cooper, and whatever other pup(s) may come into my life. Thanks, Kim & Pepper, for the great job you have done all these years, and continue to do, for my Cooper!
