DO NOT take your dogs here!!! I have brought both my dogs here for about a year, to a certain groomer, and she was great. This last visit I found out my groomer had left and someone new would be doing the cuts. My poodle looks ok, she only had one leg with a line shaved out of it, it will grow back. But my other poor dog was not so lucky. Aside from the random shave marks taken out of his back, he had a scratch in his ear, and they CUT the end of his tail off!!!! read more

I walked in and they were so friendly. The girl the cleaned him was so sweet. She did a incredible job! I never right reviews. But I figured they were so good to my dog and everything was great. I have been a loyal customer since we were able to groom our puppy. I will never go back to them again. I asked for my dog to have a longer cut and forewarned them of the mats in her fur. She came back completely shaved and has a toe nail that won't stop bleeding from being cut way to a short. My dog also comes back so thirsty drinking 2 plus bowls of water when getting back and having to pee/poop from not being taken out. We also have been told to pick up at a certain time and she is never ready. I am very disappointed and upset that they didn't acknowledge her paw or that they were shaving her to the skin. They told me I could come in without an appointment to get my cat's nails clipped. They said it's always good to call ahead just in case it's not a good time to come in. When I brought her in, I could see that a couple of dogs were getting groomed in the back. There were spare tables, so they took my cat immediately, and she was back in the carrier within a few minutes. She didn't seem traumatized in the least. Employees were very nice. It's a dogs life is a great place to take your dog to get groomed. The owner is so nice and compassionate. She is exceptional with my dog who is scared of its own shadow. My dog is about to be 17 years old next month. They take great care during the whole process from washing to grooming to drying. I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else to be groomed. read more

WARNING- I recently had my golden retriever groomed at It's A Dog's Life in Sharon MA and had a terrible experience. At drop off, the groomer and I spoke extensively about desired hair length and what services I wanted performed that day. At pick up, 6 hours later, he looked fine and was anxious to leave because he had been caged. Once we got home, he started to act disoriented and refused to go up and down the stairs of our house. After closer inspection I realized all of his whiskers had been cut off. I called It's A Dog's Life first thing the next morning to complain and the groomer apologized and said she was running behind and had another person finish him and offered to give me 10% off my next visit. I was so concerned about the disorientation, lack of movement and food refusal that I brought him to the vets to make sure nothing was seriously wrong. $300, and 2 antibiotics later, I called It's A Dog's Life back asking for my grooming refund because of my dog's condition, and they refused to reimburse me and blamed me for the issues. Please head this warning and stay clear of It's A Dog's Life in Sharon, MA. read more

I would recommend NEVER bringing your dog here. I had brought my bull dog a few times, and the last time I brought her she was VERY reluctant to go. She has always been fine but this time she didn't want to. After I picked her up later that day she was walking like something was wrong, barely moving. And this is a 75 lb bulldog and cannot be easily picked up. I brought her home, she took a sip of water, collapsed and proceeded to have a seizure and die. My dog, of 9 years, DIED. HOURS after being at this place. Keep in mind a few other people have seen the owner abuse the dogs. This is HORRENDOUS. MY DOG DIED HOURS AFTER BEING BROUGHT TO THIS GROOMER. could be coincidence, but. I know my dog. She was running and chasing deer that very morning. The odds of her dropping dead like that are EXTREMELY unlikely. If the owners even respond to my review saying they're sorry about the experience, please, resurrect my dog or better yet, help the world out and close down your business. I don't blame every employee at this establishment, but the owner should be aware that ANIMAL ABUSE is happening in their own business. This company deserves no business. I cannot wait to see what the owner or their rep decides to say in response to my review. Please save your dog and go somewhere else. read more

Brought my dog in for the first time today and couldn't be more happy! She can be a little difficult when it comes to having her nails cut, but they were as kind as could be! They took amazing care of her and have offered to have us come in weekly to get her used to having her nails trimmed!!! If she's happy, I'm happy, and she certainly seems very happy. I couldn't be happier with the friendly service, attention to detail, and happiness of my 10 month old Yorkiepoo puppy. Went to another groomer months ago and my dog (and me) were traumatized by the lack of care and not listening to anything I said I wanted. He had cuts, burns, and limped. When we got home, he hid from us for 2 days. He was obviously not treated well. It's A Dog's Life clearly loves dogs and spent time asking me detailed questions. They eased my nerves with they loving attitude toward my scared pooch. Even though my puppy was difficult for them with his "super wiggles", they did their absolute best and I could tell he was happy while they were holding him, letting me know they did not traumatize him. He was so happy and loving when we got home, unlike the last time. I've already scheduled my next appt and will happily be going back. Thank you!!! read more

Our gorgeous golden retriever was brought in for a haircut. Let me preface this by saying he is seven years old he was at his annual vet physical just last week and got the stamped of gorgeous healthy and happy! He was shaved down to his skin and all of his whiskers were removed. The owner was rude and unapologetic. Her response was an anxious dog is not her problem. Our dog was shaking had diarrhea and had to be seen by a vet. I posted this review on the Facebook page and was attacked by the owners friends, called a 'Karen' And somehow the dog must've been so severely matted that they had to shave him. Absolutely not the case, our dog is bathed/brushed on a regular basis. Our dog is so shaken from this visit it's heartbreaking. If I have to get attacked for simply leaving your review so be it. Most dogs are precious family members just like ours and I would want to be warned of a place that would actually remove whiskers and cause a dog to be off balance. this was our one and only and obviously last visit to this establishment. I see now thru the reviews that this has been done in the past with the same excuse. 'The dog must've been matted' seems to be a go to phrase to avoid accountability. Still trying to figure out why you would remove all of the dogs whiskers. That is pure abuse. read more

Cut my dog's hair. Seemed to be in a rush and clipped it way too short, to the point of cutting him all over his body. They blamed the result on a pre-existing rash and would not accept responsibility. There were scrapes (pictures available) all over his body and his stomach (1 week post grooming) currently resembles my neck after a bad shave. The dog lives with a family and has a daily dog walker. The injuries were so bad he could not walk the day after returning from the groomer. Someone would have noticed an issue if he in fact had a rash before being there. Their integrity and capabilities are in question. I would not recommend trusting your pet with them. I usually don't post here, but this was egregious. Note, we are not looking for any compensation. We just don't want this to happen to anyone else. read more

We will never take our dog back to this place! Same as Kenny P's message, our dog came back injured from grooming and its not the first time. Its been over a week and he is still in pain, having trouble walking. He has been to the vet and they gave him a spray to put on his shaved burns but its not helping. We brought our older bischon to her and he always did so well and looked so handsome, now we bring our two havenese puppies (one who has separation anxiety) and they both love going to see her and both look so good when they leave! I have brought my Maine coon cat to It's a Dog's Life for many years for a "Lion Cut". His fur is thick and tends to get matted. We visit "It's a Dog's Life" once every 6 months for his haircut. I cannot tell you how great the ladies are who work there. The cat is very sensitive to dogs and they arrange his apt and the end of the day when there are fewer dogs and i can wait for his service. Wonderful place, reasonable, and well worth heading to Sharon for!! read more
