We did not have a productive experience with Birmingham Kitchen and Bath…read more 1. Design: Although Mr. Sardy made a lot of notes at our first meeting, the plans he provided included changes that we'd very clearly indicated we did not want. 2. Responsiveness: Mr. Sardy failed to meet timeframes that he personally set on a number of occasions. We had to ping him multiple times to get plans/revisions. 3. Fees: We were referred to Birmingham Kitchen and Bath by a neighbor. We were charged 35% more for the design fee than our neighbor, who had worked with Mr. Sardy the year prior.

ZERO STARS: After spending over $100k with Joe Sardy, Birmingham Kitchen, and Bath, $30k in…read moreattorney fees, and four plus year of time we still have an unfinished project and open building permits. We asked Joe if his attorney from California, Jason Forge, was doing the work pro-bono he responded with "why does that matter?". It mattered because he sent hundreds of non-productive emails racking up our attorney fees with no implication to Joe Sardy nor completing any work they committed to complete. We chose Joe Sardy, Birmingham Kitchen and Bath for our kitchen and bath remodel as during the design process he was very thorough and gave us confidence. That is where it ended. Our project was riddled with issues from beginning to end. At the very beginning we asked Joe Sardy to pull permits for our project in which he agreed to do, and we agreed to pay. Unbeknownst to us he was not a licensed contractor at the time in which his websites and contracts led us to believe. When our project was shut down by the township Joe Sardy had a contractor (Michael Mansour) we had never heard of pull permits on our home. We did not know that they fraudulently pulled permits until Joe Sardy abandoned the project. Our permits are still open, and our project does not meet code and the permit holder will not respond. Our project was filled with one problem after another. A few highlights of the project: 1. Failed to properly insulate the kitchen when it was open to the studs, when he tried to fix and have foam insulation blown in, they preceded to fill the duct work with foam insulation. When we tried to contact Joe Sardy, he would not respond. 2. Used yellow caulk on our white custom cabinets, it is still there. 3. Installed the refrigerator apron backwards with cracks, it is still backwards. 4. Filled the refrigerator panel with caulk it started bubbling and peeling immediately, never repaired 5. Cut the marble for the island 11 inches to short, we now have unmatching countertops. 5. Forgot to run a water line to the refrigerator. 6. Installed cracked brick on the exterior of our house. 7. Structural issues and cracks have formed. 8. Structurally there are cuts in the top plates and headers which do not meet code. 9. Left a hole in the hallway floor. 10. After asking numerous times for workers to not use our upstairs an electrician (B&G Electric) overflowed our toilet and proceeded to use our bath towels to wipe up his sh**. I was left to clean and sanitize the bathroom. The list goes on and our project has never been completed.

I got on their schedule which was a few months out. While I was anxious to get the bathroom started, I thought that if a company is booked a few months out, that is a good sign. Kurtis KB gave me a website to log into and see my actual schedule. The schedule tells you on what day(s) who is coming out and what is being done. Everything ran on schedule. The bathroom is 99% finished and I am truly impressed with the company and all the people I have dealt with. The first day was the tare out. The workers were very courteous and when they were completely finished with the gut job, they vacuumed the house and left it clean. Each night after the workers left, the house was vacuumed by them. Was left clean. The quality of work that has been completed has been to my standards. I am very quality and detail orientated. I had gotten quotes from two other well known companies for my bathroom. While Kurtis KB was more than the other two, I liked the fact that they have been in business for over 40 years, they give the customer a schedule of their work to be done, people are easy to reach at the company and answer any questions you have, and everything is warranted. Justin's talent for design is great, to see it from a computer screen to reality is amazing! I am looking forward to starting my kitchen with Kurtis! I know it is scary planning a remodel in your home. Having realistic expectations will help get through it. Yes, your house will disturbed for a few weeks, the project may run over on time , but end result is what is most important. I will say that the quote I was initially presented with, is what I paid. No funny business. Kurtis has a great selection of materials also. Thank you Kurtis K&B!!

Started with the demolition where we were explicit about our flooring - they either didn't write what we wanted down or their guys messed up and theyre trying to pass the cost of their mess up onto us. They mismeasured our kitchen. They left an egregious amount of trash in our home that we have had to figure out how to get hauled away. Been a really frustrating experience.
