Did an Italian steakhouse cooking class as a date night! It was just the right amount of instruction so you could cook it on your own but they do a lot of the work for you. All the clean up is on them too which was nice. They provide all of the ingredients and assigned spots to cook at. We had a nice time learning how to make the meal. The steak we grilled in our spot and then they cooked it in the oven for us. We made a pana cotta dessert, made gnocchi from scratch and sautéed spinach! I would do another class here for sure however it is a bit pricey for what it is. $85 per person. My husband remarked that we could have just gone out for a steak dinner instead of making our own.

I attended the cooking class for a private event held by one of my company's service providers. The class was informative and I learned some new things The chosen menu was impressive and delicious (steak au poivre with Dijon Brandy sauce, grilled fingerling potatoes with shallot bacon vinaigrette, and lavender honey ice cream) Bonuses: The cooking smells were mostly* fantastic Most ingredients were measured and ready to go to expedite the process. They clean everything up after you (no scrubbing pans!) It was free for me (thanks unnamed business service provider!) *We were given olive oil for grilling over high heat. Since olive oil has a low smoke point, it burned and filled the place with smoke. I could still smell burning olive oil hours later I'm glad I got the opportunity to give the classes here a try because I have been looking for a cooking class to improve my skills and learn new techniques. This is not it, but I know it was fun and I bet it would be even more so with a group of friends or my mom and sis.

Crab cakes with aioli, lobster rolls, and cole slaw

Definitely a fun store. I'm the cook in my family, so I love all the little tools at this store to make my meals even better. I've taken 3 classes at this location now and loved every one of them. The classes do tend to push their products on you but they are a kitchen tool store, so it's understandable. Every chef I've had as a teacher has done a great job, very polite and helpful. The recipes are great as well-new things I never would have made in my own. I've done the Ina Garten:Cooking for Jeffery, Springtime in Paris, and Down by the Shore. Down by the Shore was definitely my favorite-crab cakes, lobster rolls, cole slaw, and star berry shortcake. Simply delicious. They do offer great deals on the day of the class. 10% off when shopping, discounts on future classes, and other daily deals. Overall, I'd recommend these classes to someone that's looking for something fun and different to do with friends or by yourself.

I signed up for a cooking class for date night, and enrolled in a seafood class. The instructor was great, she was easy to understand and clearly had very strong culinary skills. She kept roasting my date which was also very entertaining. Typically for the class, your put in a group of four (two couples usually) to prepare the meals. Everyone takes turn prepping the ingredients. There are a lot of helpers that make sure you have the tools and ingredients you need. The instructions were easy to follow. The food was tasty, we made shrimp, steak tuna and a fish salad. So we were very full by the end of it. Some of the simple parts like heating are done by the helpers. The class was 2 hours long and cost about $85/person. Obviously, they advertised and asked you to use their products but it was interesting to learn about all the new equipment. Check it out, find idea for a date!

Food was great and very informative class. Our chef, however, thought we were splitting an atom.

The instructors need way more information to teach a cooking class not just the directions for the specific dish being cooked.

One of my favorite stores. Similar to Williams and Sanoma but cheaper. Service and selection are very good.

From TV's to kitchen appliances, Hawthorne was where we had shopped for more than forty years. So…read morewhen our dishwasher quit, they were our first stop and we found one we liked. The price and delivery date were fine, but since our dishwasher was direct wired our salesman explained that the delivery crew would uncrate, examine for damage and place it in our kitchen and they would take away our old dishwasher. We would have to get an electrician to wire it We agreed, but that was not what happened! The delivery "crew" dropped the crated dishwasher in front of our garage and informed my wife that they only delivered! They didn't even uncrate and examine the product. We were to call the store and schedule an installer and when they were done we were to call to then schedule someone to pick up our old one. When we called we were informed that they could recommend an installer but that installation was not covered, we would and have to pay it. This is not the service were used to from this store. It turs out that what were told by the salesman and the pamphlet our recite was in were completely different. The stores new policy even explains that unless you identify damage to the product at time of delivery, they are not responsible. Since the delivery crew refused to uncrate the dishwasher that was not possible. Their new slogan ought to be "we sell, then you are on your own." Hello Home Depot! David Kibby
