Located next to a Mexican Tacos and Tienda. Inside, It feels like walking your way to an Amazon warehouse. Great selection of kitchen tools, appliances and even chef's outfit like the hat, coat, pants and shoes. Bought a couple of Japanese ramen bowls and plates. They cost less than Amazon price. Not sure about authenticity but they have a sticker at the bottom of the bowls. If you're a business owner, you can buy most of the kitchen equipment needs. The guy who runs the place was friendly and helpful. Not sure about the ladies because they were rudely speaking in Asian language. If they want us to go out early for closing time, they could have mentioned politely. Anyways, we will be back and get the sushi platter and Japanese tea set. read more

Accidentally ended up here and was amazed at the amount of kitchen supplies this place had. Thank goodness I didn't end up buying anything, even though I wanted too. But definitely I'll stop by again if I ever needed a steam tray and other kitchen items! read more

Leaving one star because both times I was in there, the lady tailed me around the entire store while I shopped.. She even started pretending like she was putting shoes away and stood on the middle of the aisle to aggressively prevent me from getting through even after I said "Excuse me".. Then she started yelling loudly to the other guy and I'm almost certain she was talkin , gauging from the other 1 star reviews for this store.. She has done it before.. I get it that you don't want people stealing from you, but maybe invest in some security cameras? That's what they exist for.. The vast majority of us are not thieves. And if you're so miserable there, maybe find a new job? Absolutely terrible. Don't go here and support these owners. I won't be back. read more

This is a great place to visit with all kinds of kitchen equipment waiting to be discovered. Prices are great, and the staff is helpful. I got a wok, some frying pans, lovely soup bowls and more! Check it out! read more

Best place to buy kitchen and dining ware. Most of it is cheaper than Meijers. Cool place to shop and browse for cookware. I just bought some small stainless steel pieces this time. Don't expect any friendly customer service here. Even if you speak Chinese the lady still has a mean face. read more

I love Asian kitchen supply stores like Wens. They are practical, affordable, and fun to browse. Anything you need for your kitchen and home is here. Dishes, pots, pans, kettles, woks, rice cookers, brooms, hot pots, bath stools, slippers, shoes, Buddhist altars, and more. Wens carries more variety and higher quality specialty items from Asia that you won't be able to find at a Dollar Store or Walmart. It's located in John R Square with plenty of parking. read more

Man, what a cool place. I drop in maybe once a year to buy supplies/utensils for my home kitchen. I usually walk around for at least 30-40 minutes. While Wens is primarily a Chinese kitchen supply store, and I am not in the least bit asian, I always find a few bags worth of stuff to walk out with, and I rarely spend more than $20-30. Great value, great quality, great selection. read more

Wens this review gonna end? Fairly soon actually. After getting tacos, baked goods, and a hair trim in this plaza, I decided to go for the Trifecta, or rather Quadfecta (is that a thing? Well it's my thing), and check out this store. It seems to be for restaurant owners. And it's amazing! They have better prices on kitchen stuff than Walmart will ever have, and a better variety too. For your restaurant, or for your home, you should definitely come here for kitchen goods before you ever go to a chain store. read more

I love this place, but I just dislike the lady working there. Always rude and not approachable at all. You can't ever ask her a question without her being rude. read more

Stopped in to look around, and I was instantly excited! The store is huge, and has literally everything you need to cook and so much more. Obviously geared towards supply for a Chinese kitchen, Wen's outdoes itself with their offerings. It's a chef's heaven! They have a huge portion of their store dedicated to dishes, and talk about BEAUTIFUL! I wished I was redoing my kitchen just to buy some new, beautiful dishes. They have beautiful tea sets, sake sets, poker sets, any pot or pan you could ever need-and more affordable than IKEA pots and pans! I loved the decor they had to sell too-mini bamboo parasols, large bamboo fans, small, feathery fans, wooden diorama's, golden piggy banks, laughing Buddha's, Hello Kitty chopsticks, novelty tea cups, and so much more! I can't wait to fill my kitchen up with their selection of knives, steamers, and other kitchen gadgets! read more

Aisle after aisle of food preparation and food service wares are to be found here. They have everything for the kitchen & dining room. This business is probably more of a commercial supply for restaurants, although a casual shopper might find appealing Chinese style dishes for the home. They have plenty of pots and pans and woks, cooking utensils and the like. And I'm talking from home size to industrial size, and everything in between. They also carry serving pots and dishes, teapots, and a complete assortment of dining room dishes. Are you in need of some chop sticks? They have an assortment of them, including beginner or training chop sticks. I found a variety of mortar & pestles, surprising to me. There are so many items in their inventory - it is worth a visit if you are in the area. read more

This is one of the most fun places to visit, especially if you like to cook (I do). They carry quite a variety of kitchen supplies with plenty of oriental restaurant type of pans and other interesting and puzzling devices. But ask and they will explain anything you want to know. read more

I had a phase of my adult life when I was afraid cooked food was bad for you. I reverted back to eating certain cooked foods. I needed a cooking pot or frying pan. I wasn't necessarily satisfied with the selection in Meijer, Kroger,, Target, or Walmart. This store is only a about half mile from my apartment. I ended up buying a Mylan brand pot, the kind with two short handles with hard plastic on the handles, glass lid with a hold to let out steam; I bought it even though whether it is aluminum or stainless steel is not identified, just because it was at a good price it and it looks adequate sized for one person. The store is worth checking out before buying from somewhere else. read more

Dude. You don't even know how long I've been looking for some damn big bowls. Ikea don't have bowls. Walmart don't have bowls. Seriously I don't know why no one carries big bowls. 168 market does but it costs like 20 bucks for a bowl there which is ridiculous. So one day I'm trying this taco place nearby and my girlfriend spots this out of the corner of the eyes. She screams and I almost crash but that's okay because I find this place. Omg my Asian soul is on fire. Chopsticks, woks, pots, tea sets, they have it all! They stock made in Japan stuff if you're fancy and made in China if you're cheap like me. I got some huge ass bowls for ramen for like 5 bucks each. I also picked up those little things for dipping your sushi in soy sauce. What the hell are they called soy sauce dish? Lol anyway they were like 1.50. Ridiculous. They have all your Asian restaurant needs here from rice cookers to sushi knives to pots and pans and bowls. Will definitely be back. I'm so happy. read more

Need a rice cooker? .....this a rice cookers paradise! With one full wall dedicated to the cooker. but.... I actually went in search of a special travel tea mug that is commonly used in China. Now, I could have gotten a masculine overpriced one from Goldfish Tea (don't get me wrong I love their tea) but my gut said Wen would have something better. And it did! Now, I sip my daily tea from a sparkly purple tea mug that I got for half the price! All in all, a small kitchen supply store worth visiting. Plus it's next to Tai Pan! read more

Their large selection does not make up for the blatant disrespect I received from the staff. I bought a leaking pot and came in for an exchange 2 days later. It resulted in me having to go home with a the floor model of smaller pot that was cheaper. It was clear that she didn't want to refund the difference either. The woman who sold me the original pot stormed off while ranting and left it to another worker to deal with me. I've never been so uncomfortable in my life. I was made to feel bad for something I didn't do wrong. I could have bought it online, but I chose to buy from a local store instead. The sad thing is, we have bought a lot of items from them since moving to the Detroit area, but I guess it is time to find a new supply store. read more

love this place. staff was really friendly and they have a large selection of quality items at a good price :)

Great place, filled with beautiful beautiful plates, bowls, cups, teapots from China and Japan. You'll love to browse the isles and imagine all of the cool stuff you can cook with their huge steamers, woks etc. I have loved everything I bought here- steamers, knives, utensils, etc... EXCEPT for one wok that basically started rusting right after I washed it one time. Imagine a brand new wok completely covered with orange rust! read more

A friend mentioned Wens when she knew I was looking for a wok In the past looked into the usual retail places, Target, Kohls, etc when shopping about. Without question, Wens is the place for kitchen stuff. Scored a really nice wok, and two fine culinary knives for half than the big chain stores. Had a large selection to choose from too. If you are looking for kitchen supplies, go to the experts who deal with kitchen supplies. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Keep in mind the store is mainly Asian ware, they have the standard pots, pans, cookware at a much better selection and price than the usual places. read more
