I added a pantry with sliding drawers to add to my kitchen. The delivered the cabinet boxes to my house within a week or so. I got 5 large pullout drawers, so convenient. I am glad we upgraded to the pullout drawers. The pantry is about 90" tall x 30" wide and 25" deep. The pullout drawers and large shelves on the top of the pantry are nice and deep for storage of items that aren't used as often. The pullout drawers are nice for storage of pots and pans. Visited the store today and it was the worst experience ever. Courtney should not be allowed to work in customer service in any capacity without training. Her attitude was extremely rude and racist! She refused to answer our questions instead of getting information we asked she framed her questions by telling usjiw things were at the high end, assuming we didn't have the money. Her disgusting attitude should not be rewarded, she is not kind or welcoming and in a customer service position you need to know to how to work with all people. I will tell everyone I m me to never shop there for anything! read more

I strongly advise against using KSI for any high-end luxury home projects. Our experience with them has been a nightmare and we have found the quality of their work to be horrendous. Despite aligning on an initial cost of $217,000 for our kitchen and master bath remodel with an 8 week timeline, the actual expenses skyrocketed due to undisclosed exclusions. We are now in the process of hiring qualified professionals to fix KSI's many mistakes. The project timeline was grossly underestimated, dragging on for 36 weeks (and counting) instead of the promised 8. Our family moved out of the home for four months as we were told this would expedite the project, yet our home camera system shows the home sat idle for weeks at a time due to KSI measuring and ordering incorrect materials on multiple occasions for the job. Even after all correct supplies were in, the house sat idle for weeks. Our home was damaged by the on-site crews, and communication from KSI was abysmal. From unresponsive email and a lack of project management, to neglecting to notice or care when work was performed incorrectly. Our list of KSI's shoddy workmanship is long, but to give you a taste of the sort of amateur mistakes they made see below: - [ ] KSI insisted they installed the master bath fan, yet there was not a switch or fan to be found in the bathroom. They finally acknowledged it was not installed, and when they finally did install it, they failed to vent it to the exterior of the home. Instead, the fan vented directly into our attic. - [ ] KSI spec'd all appliances and equipment for the kitchen and master bath. However, the infrared sauna they had us spend $11k on is not approved to be used in Michigan and therefore could not be installed. We now have a big hole in our master bath where the sauna was supposed to be and a very expensive sauna in a box in our garage that cannot be used or returned. - [ ] Incorrectly sized cabinets were ordered and installed in our kitchen. Instead of fixing the mistake (which is NOT a part of our signed off design), KSI left two different cabinet heights sitting adjacent to one another. - [ ] Gaps, fit and finish throughout the kitchen and bath are horrendous. A stroll through the home depot kitchen section demonstrates a level of workmanship far superior to that of KSI. It is hard to understand how KSI has the nerve to market itself as a high-end custom kitchen and bath firm. - [ ] KSI contractor advised us that we were being "raped" by their firm. In the end, top-level executives, including Mike Gregart and Tony Achatz, promised solutions but failed to deliver. Excuses were plentiful, and ownership of problems was nonexistent. The disrespect shown to our home, from damaging areas of the house that they were not working on, to leaving doors open to which we found a bird living in our home and letting the dust barriers fall while continuing to work, reflects KSI's lack of professionalism. They lost me at "no" hello. We stopped by to see the KSI Woodward showroom and cabinets to encourage remodeling ideas. KSI's sign on the door indicates - appointments encouraged. If a walk-in? Turned away. Zero assistance. Interesting encounter and experience. Their staff made it screamingly clear that we were unwelcome. Extremely unusual and uncomfortable experience. read more

We are disappointed and frustrated regarding our recent experience with KSI. We ordered $8500 worth of cabinets for our breezeway back in October. The original shipment was missing a large cabinet door and another door arrived damaged. We waited weeks for replacements, which were also damaged. KSI re-ordered three times and they all arrived damaged. Despite placing our order 5 months ago, we find ourselves in March with no satisfactory resolution. The extended delay has inconvenienced us greatly and disrupted our renovation plans. We ended up requesting a refund for the large door because we were so sick of dealing with this and they refunded us only $105....I expected better from your company. The lack of attention to detail and the failure to meet promised deadlines and quality of products have left us feeling very dissatisfied with our overall experience. read more

We had dura supreme cabinets in the house we just bought. We wanted to add the dura supreme inserts that are only available from a dealer. KSI was listed as our local dealer. We called KSI to determine if they would sell just the inserts and scheduled to come in. Upon arrival the Birmingham associate told us that they would not sell the inserts they only deal in whole remodels. We specifically wanted the dura supreme inserts and they are the only sellers. We explained we had an appointment for this reason and dura supreme instructed us to use them. She responded with we wont do that you need to buy on Amazon. This is some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced especially for what should be a high end brand representative. read more

I'd give less stars if possible. If you've got deep pockets or endless budgets, this place"might" be good for you. If not, well, good luck. The KSI experience can be distilled down to a very simple and calculated roller coaster ride, much like a visit to your local auto dealership. The experience is much the same with it's hidden costs and deceptive practices. The price is not the price. Step one, visit the show room and enjoy the display layouts. Step two, discuss your budget, plans, wants and needs, with a helpful sales rep who will agree about the cost, and how the project can and should be embarked upon. Now you're happy and ready to go! Step three, put a deposit down to speak with a designer who will render your design, assist in choosing cabinets, fixtures and incidentals, visit your house to measure. This process can take a month or more depending on your needs. You can get excited now, you see progress. This process will take a while and you will have high hopes. This is happening. You'll revise layouts, discuss alterations and feel confident that KSI is on board and on your side. Step four, discuss labor and timing... and costs. Here is where the magic happens! The blackest of magics... Out of nowhere, your budget will triple, all the while KSI will remain positive and straight faced while they lie to you about past agreed upon costs and their ability to stay within your budget. But this was never the plan or even close to the budget you agreed upon. The gas lamping will continue as you express your confusion and concern as to where the disconnect occurred, how this incredible cost difference appeared out of nowhere with little to no explanation. KSI will remain "clueless" to your dismay and displeasure. Suggestions will be made that maybe you should lower your finishes quality, chose a cheaper sink or possible cabinet? But this isn't the kitchen or bathroom you discussed. Now the final blow... you have wasted months of time and energy on this project you thought was on track and had your heart set on! Your wife has expectations, she's now in tears! She's picked your cabinets, floor, layout, materials, timing... Step five... They've got you. What do you do now? You spent so much time and effort, you're tired and defeated. Everything you planned and thought you were going to get, now costs triple your original budget. Will you cough up the rediculous cost, close your eyes and bite down hard, or walk away and have to start again somewhere else with a crying wife? This new insane increase in cost is before labor even starts. What happens when you are told by the laborers who come to see the job that there is a "problem" (no workers have come to look at the job yet) or worse, after the work begins. "oh we didn't see this, you have electrical that needs to be relocated", or plumbing, or there is some hazardous material that needs to be removed. The additional, additional cost is completely unknown at this point and could possibly end up costing thousands more on top of the newly increased amount. What will you chose? It's all part of their very well planned and orchestrated system. Take heed adventure you have been warned!!! Of course this is just my opinion, and you most certainly can and should pass your own judgement. Just do it with this cautionary tale in mind. I won't say, "I told ya so...". I ordered two cabinets (drawers and a vertical cabinet) to fit into a 24" space. I specifically asked for the hinges to be on the right side of the cabinet so that the door swing would work best in my kitchen. When it was time for the delivery of the cabinets, I had to take time off of work. Only one cabinet was delivered. The other was on back order and I was not notified. The delivery gentleman had no knowledge of the other piece, etc. I ended up picking the second cabinet up from the showroom and requested my delivery fee be returned- which it was. However, the back-ordered cabinet came with the wrong door swing. At the point I noticed, the contractor had already installed the cabinet, but I emailed KSI to let them know that I was disappointed that I had spend a decent dollar amount on something, and I didn't even get what I ordered. NO RESPONSE. No apology whatsoever. I was more inclined to write this review not because I didn't receive what I ordered, but because clearly the salesperson had no concern with me after I had received up my items. I would not recommend this company to others. read more

We've used KSI for a few projects now and have been very happy with the selection, service and price. They have designed bathrooms for us, bedroom built-ins, an office area and a family room. KSI recently finished my kitchen and I could not be more pleased. The entire process was great. I knew in advance what I had in mind but Lindsey, the KSI designer, provided excellent input that made it even better than I imagined. The lay-out specifications were spot on and she was able to eke out even more room in my small space with here creativity. The contractor and his crew were there every day as scheduled and were a pleasure to have in my house. Everything was on time and in budget and any additional requests were reviewed and completed as requested or better solutions proposed. I cannot recommend this company highly enough! read more

We built a home with Hunter Pasteur and KSI was their cabinet supplier. We had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Stan, the salesperson. We asked for a specific layout and was told that we would get a blueprint of the layout within 48 hours... well, 2 months later we were still waiting. I called Stan and his assistant several times to get the dimensions of the area where the microwave would go and he never called me back. We ordered a standard size microwave and when it was time to install it, half of it was sticking out. It looks awful. When I called ksi to express how upset I was. Stan got on the phone and called my husband to tell him that I called and yelled at him. Not to say he would help fix the problem, but to let him know I yelled at him. We spent additional money above the builder standard and I didn't get close to I thought I was getting and they didn't care to resolve it either. I would highly stay away from KSI in Birmingham if you have that option. read more

Not that big of a deal. But I had my dog with me and I was told I could not have the dog in the showroom unless it was a "blind dog." I have brought my dog into this particular location at least 10 times. Obviously, she does not know the rules of a service dog. I did not want to make it an issue but just thought I'd let you know.The other thing that's amazing, is that she had no idea who I was and how much business I give this place. There are a lot of kitchen place out there certainly of a KSI price point. She should also learn the terminology relating to seeing eye dogs. read more

We are trying to renovate our masterbath. I tried to interview a couple of kitchen & bath design studios to get the best concept we can work with. One firm was very cooperative and willing to go through what we would like to do whereas KSI kept asking me to go in. I felt like they had set up a trap. They wanted me to pay $200 for measurement or I send in my own. Once I had emailed my own measurement, they never responded to my email. When I called, the manager Lindsey asked me to pay another $200 for non-refundable design fees. The experience was horrible. They were so arrogant and don't want any competition. Well, welcome to the real world. It is not very smart for them to exude that type of attitude to prospective customers. I am definitely walking... I will steer my business elsewhere. read more
