I do recommend arriving early to order food and drinks - service was very attentive before the show. It gets a little difficult to order food as the show is taking place. You can still flag your server, but it may take a longer wait time as the kitchen gets busier. Depending on your ticket, you may be sharing tables with other people, which I was okay with. I went with a friend to the show and ended up sharing the table with two other people. That can be off-putting for some people, so I wanted to make a note of that! Seating is several long tables or small tables stacked up against together. However, the food was delicious! We ordered a charcuterie board to share, margarita flatbread, and truffle mushroom flatbread. And of course, we had to pair our meal with wine! We ordered a delicious Riesling each. The first issue was that the elevator was broken which presented a huge issue of accessibility for those in need as the show was upstairs (a winding staircase). Assistance was offered however most folks with accessibility issues, functional independence is a priority for them. Secondly, City Winery why would you have seats, including Premier and General Admission seating, positioned behind the stage/screen when the visuals are clearly an important part of the production? I selected my seat without realizing that a significant portion of the show would involve visual content. From my seat, I was essentially sitting behind the back of the screen, and I could only see 2 of the 4 hosts. I understand that every seat in a venue can't provide the exact same view, but seats with a significantly obstructed view of the actual production should be clearly identified before purchase. If the visual component is integral to the show, sightlines should absolutely be taken into consideration when configuring the seating. Unfortunately, I ultimately left early because I wasn't able to fully experience the show from my seat. This isn't about expecting perfection. It's about transparency, thoughtful seating configuration, and giving customers the experience they're paying for. City Winery, please do better. At minimum, clearly identify obstructed view seats so customers can make an informed decision before purchasing.

Our waiter told us that the space for the JBF LTD was donated by one of the JBF board members. Very cool. Eventually, we were seated at our communal table and were given a green garden gazpacho to start. It had pickled green strawberries which were surprisingly very good. Usually you throw the green strawberries out of the bunch and only eat the red ripe ones. David Kinch opened our eyes to eating this unripened fruit and I will never look at green strawberries the same! The soup was paired with vegetable beignets and a crispy vegetable chip - both were just perfect. Our next course was my girlfriend's favorite - an abalone salad nestled on a bed of romaine lettuce coupled with grilled cucumbers and an avocado-nori sauce. I loved the avocado-nori sauce with the tender abalone. The entree came next and was a succulent porcelet with the best crispy pork skins! It was served communal style which was kind of cool. There were two cuts of meat - belly and tenderloin. My favorite part was the skins. Dessert was a lovely popover with powdered sugar. Sweet, simple, and delicious.
