I had the opportunity to visit this winery to pickup my race packet for a 5k I was participating in. The property is beautiful, the bar/ restaurant area was welcoming, staff was friendly. They have a couple of wine flight options but we decided to share a bottle of red sangria. Wow! It was delicious, so good we took a bottle home for later. The 5k was fun, we got to run the paths around the property, the views were awesome, the path was clearly marked with flags & arrows, at the finish line we celebrated with a glass of wine and a cool medal. RUDEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I cant even begin to express the disappointment in this experience. To be a part of the placer wine trail but offer a horrible experience for the common taster was awful. We had reservations For outdoor seating but due to two small dogs with us they turned us away. Which is understandable due to policy but what isnt is the candor. Im absolutely upset to have been treated this way. The bald man behind the counter who took it upon himself to play "tough guy" really made it difficult to not say something more. Respect and courtesy - even if the customer isn't correct, is necessary. You sir are not being paid enough to act like that. Horrible customer service. Doesn't make me want to come back. The thing for me is - it's just dinner. Theres no need for the hostility that came from that man while trying to understand what their policy is from the receptionist/host. Almost every winery is dog friendly its not insane we would come in to ask. He assigned himself the need to come over the counter and hostilely address us while waiting for her to find the answer in an effort to kick us out. He alone is the reason I cant get over this interaction. So hostile and rude why would I ever go back to get another interaction with him. How would that treatment to paying customers be allowed?... It's fine to ask a question and be turned away. But his approach was unacceptable and unnecessary. How dare we attempt to dine there. We just were waiting to hear back if we could sit on a patio. read more

A really amazing young lady ( a very good friend ) gifted us GC's to Wise Villa , we had dinner w/ them 3 years ago before they had moved to Florida . The food then was awesome but the wines weren't that great ! Now to 2026 we had my birthday celebration at Wise Villa & it was actually busy we had a reservation at 1 pm & we were sat 16 minutes later which was fine. My friend had made the comment that wine members probably had preference & we were not which made sense thus the wait . The winery here is very beautiful , the weather was perfect maybe a tad hot w/ gentle breeze . We were very impressed w/ our server Wally he was very animated & boisterous & just simply plain fun & not stuffy & we were happy w/ all the suggestions on what wines & food to try . He was also attentive considering he was pretty busy. Wally had tables outside in the patio area too but still kept up ! We started off w/ the Cabernet Franc which was 100 % better from the wines we had three years ago, then my husband says let's get another bottle of wine which Wally suggested the Petit Syrah which very good as well paired well w/ the Ribeye. Appetizers Truffle fries , can't mess that up . They were delightful. Steak bites - tender bites of steak w/ a dollop of mash potatoes & drizzle of demi. Absolutely delicious too! Grilled Crostone red pepper hummus & house cured olives, roasted garlic , frisée salad w/ lemon , an explosion of flavors in your palate! WOW ! Entrees ~My husband & friend had ribeyes which were both cooked to perfection & they very much enjoyed. My husband very much liked the mushroom gravy & fingerling potatoes. I had a spinach salad b/c after all those appetizers, I had no room . The salad was perfect. My best friend had the pork chops & she said they were tender & not dry enjoyed very much. Dessert ~ ummm ! I had no room but I did indulge and had an affogato which was absolutely perfect & nice touch after the wonderful wine & lunch . Thank you , so much for a great dining experience. Wowwwwww!!! That's what I said after every bite of this meal. It was truly delicious! We ordered the marinated olives as a starter. They were good but I wish they would have been warmed. We ordered the braised short rib and the filet as entrees. Both of them were divine and melted in your mouth. Get the truffle butter with the steak. Trust me it takes the steak to the next level. We ended them meal with the affogato. The piping hot shot of espresso was perfectly brewed and paired so well with the fluffy house made vanilla bean ice cream. Highly recommend. Probably one of the best wineries in the area! The prices are fair, and the food is absolutely delicious. We love coming here for the artisan plate and truffle fries, which never disappoint. This time, we also tried the steamed clams, and they were incredible--especially with the surprise addition of bacon, which added so much flavor. The food came out promptly, and our server was attentive, checking in with us often and keeping our water glasses full. Truly amazing service all around. I highly recommend making a reservation if you're planning to visit between Friday -Sunday, as it does get busier and they typically don't accept walk-ins. I celebrated me and my mom's birthday here and my family had such a great time! Our server was exceptional and ensured our first experience here went seamlessly. We ordered the wine tasting where we can taste 5 red/white wines for only $20! We also got the mushroom crostini as an appetizer which had goat cheese and balsamic glaze on top. This was the star of the show! As for entrees, we got the Atlantic salmon, duck breast with squash puree, mushroom risotto and house made ragu. Everything was so delicious and came out really fast. The food and service is spot on and the views of the vineyards is beautiful! Today we were fortunate to have Walli (Wali?) As our server. He was professional and friendly and was on top of our order. Although we had reservations at 11am he let us seat early and brought me a nice hot coffee to warm up! What an asset to this establishment! We shared the prime rib (asked for end cut) and it was huge! Flavors and temp were perfect! It came with green beans and mashed potatoes. Plenty of leftovers on the prime rib! The clam chowder was okay but the chocolate cake was yummy! You can't beat the wine flights for 20 bucks because you get to try 5 tastings. I purchased the Cabernet Franc again to go for Thanksgiving. We sat by the fireplace and soaked in the warm and cozy atmosphere while enjoying the views. SO relaxing! The drive is scenic as well. This place accommodates large groups and has indoor and outdoor seating. The wines are all stunning and the service and presentation is done beautifully. Wise Villa is a hidden treasure east of Lincoln. You can enjoy time there for a meal, wine tasting -- or both. We enjoyed lunch on a recent Sunday afternoon. Seating for a meal is available indoor and out, both overlooking vineyards below. The food was wonderful -- as were the recommended paired wines. After our meal, we continued with some wine-tasting, which was equally worthwhile. While there is ample seating in the restaurant, the wine-tasting section is fairly small and gets crowded. Staff was also doing double duty, serving patrons in the restaurant while also handling wine-tasting. Overall, we had a wonderful time. The only downfall was that we were there celebrating a 73rd wedding anniversary. (And that's no typo.) Despite giving advance notification and being reminded on site, acknowledgement was left to a quick,responsive verbal "congratulations." I expected more out of a classy venue. *WARNING* They will take your card, hold it on file and then charge you whatever they want without your signature I did the wine tour and tasting with 3 others, it was nice and educational and the owner was very informative. I had a voucher that I had previously purchased for all 4 wine tours and tastings. The waiter too my voucher and said it would be comped. Last night after leaving I see my account was charged $200.11. I called and they said they'd take my info and call me back, nothing, no call. So this morning I check my account, now the charge has gone through at $247.00! I never signed a bill or a receipt. I called again today and the manager told me it's the weekend and they can't do anything about it. Meanwhile I'm out $247 out of my bank account when I have bills going through tomorrow. So sketchy and I've never had an establishment just charge me whatever they felt like without a signature or anything. Wow read more

I'm a wine club member here and highly considering cancelling. Every-time I go in for a tasting (as a member) I notice they pour such lousy pours! Literally they pour less than a tasting and you would think they'd pour you the normal amount because you're a member and you're just having a tasting. They also don't even have the wines available that I was originally signed on as a member with. I can keep going....don't get a membership here. There are plenty other wineries that will treat their members better and give an actual tasting cause you pay for it in your membership already. The owner responded to me and said they pour 1 ounce pours in f glasses but I'm telling out it is not 1 ounce they pour in the glass for a tasting. I was given a sip in each glass which wouldn't have totaled a "legal glass" amount. It was a joke, they need to talk to their staff and make sure everyone is on the same page with pours especially for wine club members. read more

We came here for a friends birthday. This place does RVSP and so we got a table outside; which was a bit cold for January but they also provided heaters. We all each order the tasting #1 which include whites and reds. They also have a kitchen so we order a bunch of apps to share. The service was very charming and helpful; he even gave the Bday boy a free shot. Food was delicious and wine was great! We enjoy our time there since there was 6 of us. This continues to be a top-notch restaurant venue in the area. It is run well, consistently good quality and excellent service. We came with friends for an early lunch as they were heading out of town. Seated right away, we were offered a cozy spot at by the warmth of the fireplace that was much appreciated. Chris, our server, was friendly and professional, and he accommodated us very well. I decided to off order my usual risotto, which is exceptional here, and ordered the Farmhouse Chicken sandwich and fries. The sandwich was perfect, well prepared with a tender portion of grilled chicken, plus grilled onion and a delicious aioli, with some greens, on ciabatta bread. All of it was very tasty and up to the typical quality of other dishes I have had here. The fries were equally good. I washed it down with an iced tea, but snuck a sip of my better half's Sangiovese, rich and hearty red wine, our favorite here. Prices are high but well worth it in quality and ambiance. It is beautiful rural setting in the vineyard with an Italian Villa restaurant ambiance. It is quite remote so it is an adventure of winding roads to get there. We were immediately seated at a window table inside and excellent service began. Patio seating is available. We had Lamb, Duck, and Filet Mignon, Clam Chowder and Beet Salad. Excellent taste across the selections and ample portions. The wine selection is excellent! Pairings are shown for each entree. This was an upscale experience and we will return. read more

I have visited Wise Villa Winery & Restaurant on numerous occasions over the years. It is located near Lincoln, California. They have a large selection of moderately priced wines. While their wine is generally not my first choice, it is very drinkable. The biggest draw for me is their beautiful grounds / vineyards, villa and restaurant / food. Of course, they also offer wine tastings, tours and wine events. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. A separate space / building is available for private parties. The decor and music in the main restaurant are very nice. This time I came for lunch with friends. Our orders included Chicken Cacciatore, a Prime Rib Sandwich and a Hamburger. Everything was delicious. It had been a while since I had seen Chicken Cacciatore on a restaurant menu, and I would definitely recommend this one. We stopped by for lunch on New Year's Eve, and even though the place was busy, the hostess greeted us warmly. There were a couple of seats available at the bar--which happens to be our favorite spot--so we grabbed those. Brandy was our server, and she was fantastic--friendly, outgoing, and totally on point. We really enjoyed her energy and service. What really surprised me was how good the food was. At many wineries, food can feel like an afterthought, but not here. You can actually sit down and enjoy a great meal along with your wine. Speaking of wine: my wife enjoys rosé, while I'm more of a red wine person. Fortunately, Wise Villa Winery had plenty of great options for both of us. The wine was solid and enjoyable all around. Went here for a lovely Valentines Day dinner. Sadly, the restaurant was more interested in seeing how many people they could "serve", rather than making sure their guests had the kind of experience they expected. Our reservation was at 6:45. We arrived 10 minutes early, to be told that it would be 30 minutes before we would be seated. At 7:25, we were brought to our table, and the waiter came by about 5 minutes later. We ordered bread, salads, and our entrees, at that time. Fast forward 45 minutes, and a request of our waiter, as to could we get our bread and salads, we had nothing...an hour and a half after our reservation, we still had no food...As we were deciding what to do, the table next to us got their meals, and we overheard the person bringing the meal tell them that they had run out of mashed potatoes, so they gave her french fries! Visited for the first time yesterday, this review is for the restaurant since we didn't go to the tasting room. We had a pleasant lunch, sat on the inside patio which was totally covered, it was perfect for the cooler weather and showers. Three of us had the special prime rib sandwich. It was good but it could have benefited from some au jus as it was kind of dry. The food was probably 4 stars, but I found the wine flights pretty lame. It was 20 bucks for five 1 oz pours, not a terrible price, but the presentation was terrible, five tiny battered plastic cups on a board. There was a lot of hard sales on joining the wine club, which I am sure is great, but those five wines for 20 bucks was not a selling factor. Service was friendly but slow. The grounds are beautiful and the restaurant itself is nice. If we come back it would probably be with someone who is already a member. read more

The grape vines and the property surrounding the restaurant and winery are beautiful and scenic, it looks like Napa. You wouldn't ever be able to tell you're in the boonies of Lincoln. It's very scenic and the architecture of the restaurant goes with it as well. I was very surprised with how nice this vineyard was. Our table shared the margherita Flatbread and it was good nothing too special. I started with a cup of the tomato basil soup and is probably one of the best I've had. Our waitress suggested the red sangria and it was good not too sweet or too strong. For my entree I had the ribye steak that came with mashed potatoes and carrots. That was a great steak, so tender, and yummy. The mashed potatoes were great too and so yummy and fluffy. Then for dessert I had the creme brulee which was delicious and not too sweet and tasted like great vanilla bean custard. Our service was good too and the waitress was attentive. What a beautiful winery tucked away in Lincoln - absolutely worth a trip and a detour just to come and see the sunset and have a bottle of wine. Their wine selection is great (obvi) and the prices are reasonable - very much appreciated if you enjoy wine but don't have the experience to enjoy some of the more crazy varietals. Our hostess was a little bit short and dismissive, seemed flustered at managing the tables and the line of folks waiting for their reservations, but everyone else on staff was absolutely fantastic - servers, chefs, etc. were all so friendly and great, and they were clearly proud of their food. Food is fantastic and very flavorful - great portions and we all left so satisfied and happy. Salmon, chicken, and risotto were all so delicious. For the appetizers the mussels were fantastic as well the crostoni and the steak bites.
