I was really looking forward to visiting this winery, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing. Before arriving, I called to ask if reservations were needed. Sharon told me they weren't required for wine tastings or wine by the glass. only for dining. However, when we arrived, the hostess said outdoor seating required reservations. Since my husband is injured, we couldn't take a bottle down to the lower outdoor area she suggested. She eventually seated us in the courtyard, but after waiting 15 minutes, we were only served water. We waited another 10 minutes and no one ever came to take our drink order, while the table around us was attended to multiple times. I hate to bring race into it, but as a brown couple, it honestly felt like we were treated differently. We came excited to experience the Placer Wine Trail and enjoy the beautiful views, but we left feeling unwelcome and disappointed. read more

Wise Villa Winery is a beautiful winery located just outside of Lincoln, with a stunning property and a charming atmosphere. We visited for lunch and enjoyed trying several items from the menu. The Brussels sprouts are an absolute must--they were delicious, especially with the bacon jam that added a great balance of flavor. I also tried their signature burger, which was decent overall, but I felt it could have used a little more attention to the toppings. The onion, in particular, felt like it was simply added on without much thought or preparation. For dessert, I ordered the Crème Brûlée, which was very enjoyable and a nice way to finish the meal. The service was the one area that could use improvement. Our server was quite slow and seemed to delay taking our order and bringing out our food, which affected the overall experience. Despite that, the beautiful setting, good food, and especially the Brussels sprouts made it a worthwhile visit. I would definitely return and look forward to enjoying more of what Wise Villa Winery has to offer. read more

I had the opportunity to visit this winery to pickup my race packet for a 5k I was participating in. The property is beautiful, the bar/ restaurant area was welcoming, staff was friendly. They have a couple of wine flight options but we decided to share a bottle of red sangria. Wow! It was delicious, so good we took a bottle home for later. The 5k was fun, we got to run the paths around the property, the views were awesome, the path was clearly marked with flags & arrows, at the finish line we celebrated with a glass of wine and a cool medal. I would definitely recommend both the winery and the 5k, what a fantastic experience. read more

Great service and a delicious experience! Coming up the drive we enjoyed the view of the lush grape vines bordering the road. As soon as we stepped into the bistro we were treated with a warm, inviting atmosphere created by the staff and environment. We ate and drank at the bar and enjoyed a wine tasting and a pour of their amazing and unique Armagnac. Afterwards we wandered the beautiful and vast vineyard where you can see the nuance differences between the grapes. We spent a pretty penny but it was super relaxing and fun. I highly recommend putting this place on your list when visiting Norcal! read more

Excellent food and wine! We take all of our out of town guests here for dinner or lunch!

Horrible weekday lunch service. It took 1 hour from the time we arrived to the restaurant for my party of 2 to get entrees. That is not the bad part, the bad part is that during the 1 hour, our server did not check on us, NOT EVEN ONCE, aside from taking orders and dropping off our soup. I had to flag him down to place our order. Our water carafe was low and when entrees arrived, the mussels were not accompanied by a spare plate for shells (the other item was a burger). After I complained, when he brought our check, he asked if I cared for a glass of wine. Why didn't he think of that earlier? I sincerely hope race was not a factor, but based on what I observed during my 1 hour visit, the level of service provided to white customers appeared much more attentive than what we experienced. read more

A really amazing young lady ( a very good friend ) gifted us GC's to Wise Villa , we had dinner w/ them 3 years ago before they had moved to Florida . The food then was awesome but the wines weren't that great ! Now to 2026 we had my birthday celebration at Wise Villa & it was actually busy we had a reservation at 1 pm & we were sat 16 minutes later which was fine. My friend had made the comment that wine members probably had preference & we were not which made sense thus the wait . The winery here is very beautiful , the weather was perfect maybe a tad hot w/ gentle breeze . We were very impressed w/ our server Wally he was very animated & boisterous & just simply plain fun & not stuffy & we were happy w/ all the suggestions on what wines & food to try . He was also attentive considering he was pretty busy. Wally had tables outside in the patio area too but still kept up ! We started off w/ the Cabernet Franc which was 100 % better from the wines we had three years ago, then my husband says let's get another bottle of wine which Wally suggested the Petit Syrah which very good as well paired well w/ the Ribeye. Appetizers Truffle fries , can't mess that up . They were delightful. Steak bites - tender bites of steak w/ a dollop of mash potatoes & drizzle of demi. Absolutely delicious too! Grilled Crostone red pepper hummus & house cured olives, roasted garlic , frisée salad w/ lemon , an explosion of flavors in your palate! WOW ! Entrees ~My husband & friend had ribeyes which were both cooked to perfection & they very much enjoyed. My husband very much liked the mushroom gravy & fingerling potatoes. I had a spinach salad b/c after all those appetizers, I had no room . The salad was perfect. My best friend had the pork chops & she said they were tender & not dry enjoyed very much. Dessert ~ ummm ! I had no room but I did indulge and had an affogato which was absolutely perfect & nice touch after the wonderful wine & lunch . Thank you , so much for a great dining experience. It was nice b-day lunch w/ great service from Wally & all his wonderful suggestions. Wally did make us feel at ease here at Wise b/c there is a bit of a pretentious vibe but that all went away. We belong to a few wine clubs in Lincoln , Auburn & New Castle love the down to earth vibe . I'm sure we will be back . read more

Wowwwwww!!! That's what I said after every bite of this meal. It was truly delicious! We ordered the marinated olives as a starter. They were good but I wish they would have been warmed. We ordered the braised short rib and the filet as entrees. Both of them were divine and melted in your mouth. Get the truffle butter with the steak. Trust me it takes the steak to the next level. We ended them meal with the affogato. The piping hot shot of espresso was perfectly brewed and paired so well with the fluffy house made vanilla bean ice cream. Highly recommend. Also the rolling hills of vines are just beautiful. I'd love to see it in the spring when everything is in bloom. read more

Probably one of the best wineries in the area! The prices are fair, and the food is absolutely delicious. We love coming here for the artisan plate and truffle fries, which never disappoint. This time, we also tried the steamed clams, and they were incredible--especially with the surprise addition of bacon, which added so much flavor. The food came out promptly, and our server was attentive, checking in with us often and keeping our water glasses full. Truly amazing service all around. I highly recommend making a reservation if you're planning to visit between Friday -Sunday, as it does get busier and they typically don't accept walk-ins. And if you stop by, keep an eye out for Socks--the sweetest little kitty! We can't wait to come back. read more

My aunt recently visited from Florida, and I was thrilled to treat her to a truly memorable Californian experience at Wise Villa. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the views. The ambiance was a perfect blend of elegant yet relaxed. The food itself was exceptional. We ordered clams, risotto, salmon and 2 surf and turf dishes. The steak was incredibly tender and flavorful, showcasing the quality of ingredients. We were very full but still moved forward with desserts, and they were phenomenal. But what truly elevated our dining experience was the exceptional service provided by Eric. He was not only incredibly attentive to our needs, anticipating refills and offering helpful suggestions, but also demonstrated remarkable flexibility in accommodating our requests. I had to change our reservation a few hours before dinner and he was so understanding. His warm and friendly demeanor made us feel truly welcome and valued. When I arrived he somehow knew it was me that called and recalled specific details from our phone conversation. Wise Villa exceeded my expectations, offering a delightful combination of delicious cuisine, refined atmosphere, and outstanding service. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a special dining experience. read more

RUDEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I cant even begin to express the disappointment in this experience. To be a part of the placer wine trail but offer a horrible experience for the common taster was awful. We had reservations For outdoor seating but due to two small dogs with us they turned us away. Which is understandable due to policy but what isnt is the candor. Im absolutely upset to have been treated this way. The bald man behind the counter who took it upon himself to play "tough guy" really made it difficult to not say something more. Respect and courtesy - even if the customer isn't correct, is necessary. You sir are not being paid enough to act like that. Horrible customer service. Doesn't make me want to come back. The thing for me is - it's just dinner. Theres no need for the hostility that came from that man while trying to understand what their policy is from the receptionist/host. Almost every winery is dog friendly its not insane we would come in to ask. He assigned himself the need to come over the counter and hostilely address us while waiting for her to find the answer in an effort to kick us out. He alone is the reason I cant get over this interaction. So hostile and rude why would I ever go back to get another interaction with him. How would that treatment to paying customers be allowed?... It's fine to ask a question and be turned away. But his approach was unacceptable and unnecessary. How dare we attempt to dine there. We just were waiting to hear back if we could sit on a patio. read more

I celebrated me and my mom's birthday here and my family had such a great time! Our server was exceptional and ensured our first experience here went seamlessly. We ordered the wine tasting where we can taste 5 red/white wines for only $20! We also got the mushroom crostini as an appetizer which had goat cheese and balsamic glaze on top. This was the star of the show! As for entrees, we got the Atlantic salmon, duck breast with squash puree, mushroom risotto and house made ragu. Everything was so delicious and came out really fast. We got a blueberry cheesecake for dessert and it was the perfect sweet treat to end the night. I highly recommend Wise Villa Winery for delicious food with a romantic, scenic ambiance. read more

The views here are amazing! Great place to have some wine, eat dinner and watch the sun set! To wine taste, you must sit at the bar which is a new policy. We have been there many times before... We dined the two days ago. Our last experience was disappointing and frustrating... The food and wine were outstanding as usual. However, the service was a HUGE letdown... We made a reservation. We got there on time. Unfortunately, the hostess told us it was first come, first serve. So several walk in's were seated before us. After 40 minutes waiting for our table in a restaurant that was more than half empty (see the pic), I asked for the check (for the bar tab) and they magically told us they could seat us and that the table had been ready for a while (we were never told that or even which table it was)... We stayed and from there it was fine. But clearly not the relaxing visit we expected. Not sure we will go back. read more

Visited Nov. 27th..see my receipt. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! We had a Thanksgivng eve lunch today that was scrumptious as usual! The food and service is spot on and the views of the vineyards is beautiful! Today we were fortunate to have Walli (Wali?) As our server. He was professional and friendly and was on top of our order. Although we had reservations at 11am he let us seat early and brought me a nice hot coffee to warm up! What an asset to this establishment! We shared the prime rib (asked for end cut) and it was huge! Flavors and temp were perfect! It came with green beans and mashed potatoes. Plenty of leftovers on the prime rib! The clam chowder was okay but the chocolate cake was yummy! You can't beat the wine flights for 20 bucks because you get to try 5 tastings. I purchased the Cabernet Franc again to go for Thanksgiving. We sat by the fireplace and soaked in the warm and cozy atmosphere while enjoying the views. SO relaxing! The drive is scenic as well. This place accommodates large groups and has indoor and outdoor seating. The wines are all stunning and the service and presentation is done beautifully. Nice romantic place without being pretentious! If you are on a budget then enjoy their lunch menu - wallet friendly. Thanks again Walli for making this another 5 star experience! read more

Wise Villa Winery is beautiful! As you drive towards the winery and restaurant, you can see rows and rows of vineyards! All the grapes are grown on the property. Right as you enter the parking lot, there's a beautiful terrance that overlooks the vineyards! We took pictures of our group after the tasting! The wine was amazing! LOVED the Torrente and the Syrah! The besties and I loved the desserts (go for the brandy float! I'm going to start making those at home from now on. My only complaint would be that while our server was knowledgeable about the wines there, when we asked about other wineries they would recommend us visiting they recommended us to the wine trail map. All in all, a wonderful experience I highly recommend! read more

So disappointed. Went for my birthday last weekend. I made reservations mid week and answered the questions on the form. Special occasion and any special requests. Asked for window seat. Got there about 10 minutes early. Hostess sat us at table in the middle of room. When I said I had asked for window seat was told sorry all taken. Food was meh. Service was just okay. Got bill and friends asked about birthday. They then brought out a piece of dry cake. Why do they ask about preferences etc if they don't read them. Won't go back read more

Lunch at Wise Villa Winery this afternoon! Brilliant Chef Marc never disappoints! We started with the artichoke appetizer. Our friend chose the duck breast, which was perfectly prepared (as always). Chef changes the sides to match the seasons. We love the salmon, which has a moist interior with crisp, flavorful skin, and the shrimp scampi was the best I've ever tasted! No photos of our desserts...yummy dark and decadent chocolate cake, lovely affogato and delectable crème brûlée (sorry). The wine offerings are certain to please a variety of palates, and the service is exemplary (thank you Colten)! Oh...and the view...OMG...the view! www.wisevillawinery.com read more

*WARNING* They will take your card, hold it on file and then charge you whatever they want without your signature I did the wine tour and tasting with 3 others, it was nice and educational and the owner was very informative. I had a voucher that I had previously purchased for all 4 wine tours and tastings. The waiter too my voucher and said it would be comped. Last night after leaving I see my account was charged $200.11. I called and they said they'd take my info and call me back, nothing, no call. So this morning I check my account, now the charge has gone through at $247.00! I never signed a bill or a receipt. I called again today and the manager told me it's the weekend and they can't do anything about it. Meanwhile I'm out $247 out of my bank account when I have bills going through tomorrow. So sketchy and I've never had an establishment just charge me whatever they felt like without a signature or anything. Wow read more

We all each order the tasting #1 which include whites and reds. They also have a kitchen so we order a bunch of apps to share. The service was very charming and helpful; he even gave the Bday boy a free shot. Food was delicious and wine was great! We enjoy our time there since there was 6 of us. This continues to be a top-notch restaurant venue in the area. It is run well, consistently good quality and excellent service. We came with friends for an early lunch as they were heading out of town. Seated right away, we were offered a cozy spot at by the warmth of the fireplace that was much appreciated. Chris, our server, was friendly and professional, and he accommodated us very well. I decided to off order my usual risotto, which is exceptional here, and ordered the Farmhouse Chicken sandwich and fries. The sandwich was perfect, well prepared with a tender portion of grilled chicken, plus grilled onion and a delicious aioli, with some greens, on ciabatta bread. All of it was very tasty and up to the typical quality of other dishes I have had here. The fries were equally good. I washed it down with an iced tea, but snuck a sip of my better half's Sangiovese, rich and hearty red wine, our favorite here. Prices are high but well worth it in quality and ambiance. It definitely remains my go-to place for an exceptional dining experience. read more

Four of us went for a 6 pm dinner reservation on a Saturday night. Two of us previously had lunch a couple times and enjoyed eating and wine tasting. It is beautiful rural setting in the vineyard with an Italian Villa restaurant ambiance. It is quite remote so it is an adventure of winding roads to get there. We were immediately seated at a window table inside and excellent service began. Patio seating is available. We had Lamb, Duck, and Filet Mignon, Clam Chowder and Beet Salad. Excellent taste across the selections and ample portions. The wine selection is excellent! Pairings are shown for each entree. This was an upscale experience and we will return. read more

I'm a wine club member here and highly considering cancelling. Every-time I go in for a tasting (as a member) I notice they pour such lousy pours! Literally they pour less than a tasting and you would think they'd pour you the normal amount because you're a member and you're just having a tasting. They also don't even have the wines available that I was originally signed on as a member with. I can keep going....don't get a membership here. There are plenty other wineries that will treat their members better and give an actual tasting cause you pay for it in your membership already. The owner responded to me and said they pour 1 ounce pours in f glasses but I'm telling out it is not 1 ounce they pour in the glass for a tasting. I was given a sip in each glass which wouldn't have totaled a "legal glass" amount. It was a joke, they need to talk to their staff and make sure everyone is on the same page with pours especially for wine club members. read more

I have visited Wise Villa Winery & Restaurant on numerous occasions over the years. It is located near Lincoln, California. They have a large selection of moderately priced wines. While their wine is generally not my first choice, it is very drinkable. The biggest draw for me is their beautiful grounds / vineyards, villa and restaurant / food. Of course, they also offer wine tastings, tours and wine events. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. A separate space / building is available for private parties. The decor and music in the main restaurant are very nice. This time I came for lunch with friends. Our orders included Chicken Cacciatore, a Prime Rib Sandwich and a Hamburger. Everything was delicious. It had been a while since I had seen Chicken Cacciatore on a restaurant menu, and I would definitely recommend this one. Service was fantastic - friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. read more

Visited for the first time yesterday, this review is for the restaurant since we didn't go to the tasting room. We had a pleasant lunch, sat on the inside patio which was totally covered, it was perfect for the cooler weather and showers. Three of us had the special prime rib sandwich. It was good but it could have benefited from some au jus as it was kind of dry. The food was probably 4 stars, but I found the wine flights pretty lame. It was 20 bucks for five 1 oz pours, not a terrible price, but the presentation was terrible, five tiny battered plastic cups on a board. There was a lot of hard sales on joining the wine club, which I am sure is great, but those five wines for 20 bucks was not a selling factor. Service was friendly but slow. The grounds are beautiful and the restaurant itself is nice. If we come back it would probably be with someone who is already a member. read more

I came here with family for my sister's bday and for a Mother's day joint celebration. The grape vines and the property surrounding the restaurant and winery are beautiful and scenic, it looks like Napa. You wouldn't ever be able to tell you're in the boonies of Lincoln. It's very scenic and the architecture of the restaurant goes with it as well. I was very surprised with how nice this vineyard was. Our table shared the margherita Flatbread and it was good nothing too special. I started with a cup of the tomato basil soup and is probably one of the best I've had. Our waitress suggested the red sangria and it was good not too sweet or too strong. For my entree I had the ribye steak that came with mashed potatoes and carrots. That was a great steak, so tender, and yummy. The mashed potatoes were great too and so yummy and fluffy. Then for dessert I had the creme brulee which was delicious and not too sweet and tasted like great vanilla bean custard. Our service was good too and the waitress was attentive. I'll definitely be visiting this restaurant another time and maybe do a wine tasting also. It's a hidden gem on Lincoln. read more
