Until last week, I had the original galvanized steel plumbing that's been in my house since 1954. I couldn't keep rust from staining my toilet bowl, so I knew it must also be in my bathing and drinking water too. Since I was about to install some new appliances, toilet, and shower, I decided I didn't want to taint them with rusty water and 72 years of "who knows what" build-up. I wanted to get a clean start. After checking CSLB licenses and weeding out non-specialized companies that do everything from HVAC to windows to water heaters, I had 3 companies come give me recommendations and bids. Kellen at Wise Monkey answered questions I had about the pros & cons of PEX vs copper and understood my concerns about the threat of rodents gnawing through PEX. Another company had dismissed my concerns as if they'd never heard that rats and squirrels were a potential problem, especially in the area of Sacramento where I live. I told them that all you have to do is Google PEX to see that it's pretty universally recognized. It demonstrated either ignorance or dishonesty, both of which I wanted to avoid. Kellen acknowledged and respected my concerns and was even open to trying a fairly new wire mesh sleeve solution (I think he was planning on using it on another project coming up). I still have reservations about using PEX over the more expensive copper, but I made the decision to try it and just make sure the squirrels and rats stay out of my crawlspace (please don't share this review with them!) I feel like Wise Monkey allowed me to make an informed decision rather than dismissing my concern or pressuring me one way or the other. He also didn't hit me with the typical, "Well, it's up to you. We can do whatever you want for a price". The process went incredibly smoothly, and the team of workers were friendly, respectful, skilled, and efficient. No one seemed to be an "outside" worker or subcontractor, though for all I know, they may have been. Every hole they had to cut to access pipes was patched and painted. You can't even tell they were there. The permit process went flawlessly and without any worries on my part. Water is running smoothly, cleanly, leak-free, with better pressure.  And all have dedicated quarter-turn ball valves, replacing the outdated, never-ending turning gate valves. In the midst of a multitude of remodel nightmares, this was a refreshing change. I recommend Wise Monkey for either PEX or copper repiping. Because of the quality of service and professionalism, I can overlook the fact that the primates in their logo are chimps, not monkeys, read more

COURTEOUS PROFESSIONAL & KNOWLEDGEABLE Our home had old corroded pipes so we needed a full water pipe replacement. After several quotes, we chose Wise Monkey for their great level of professionalism and expertise as well as a very fair price. The work performed was very high quality and completed on schedule. Kellen and the team at Wise Monkey were always punctual and communicated with us at every step. The Wise Monkey team also patched and repainted the walls after repiping was finished, saving us the headache of finding another contractor to do this work. I would highly recommend Wise Monkey!! read more

Exceeded my expectations with 100% satisfaction and worth every penny! I'm think about to be long-winded because I have many positive things to say about Wise Monkey, the best, easy going service people I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with... Ten years ago I bought a 1957 house on a raised foundation that had old galvanized pipes. I wasn't having any problems yet, but I was tired of rusty water and worrying about the inevitable replacement of my rusting pipes and decided to be proactive instead of waiting for a potentially catastrophic leak. I did lots of research of the repipe processes including best practices, preferred materials, building codes and such, as well as exploring repipe companies on the contractors' license board, the Better Business Bureau and endless online reviews. Three quotes is always recommended and prudent, however, after the first four quotes, all from reputable companies, I just wasn't hearing the entire package I was hoping for. All the price quotes, scope of work, materials and warranties were so different from one another. These companies had different offers and expectations, such as requiring me to get and to pay for permits and inspections, or wanted me to hire my own drywall and paint service people, along with using materials (from my research) I thought substandard. One company offered only a one-year warranty. My fifth quote was with Kellen from Wise Monkey. I was immediately comfortable and impressed with his easy going nature. Every word out of his mouth was what I had been longing to hear! He spoke of using the preferred materials I'd read about and that the permits, inspections and finish work would be included and done by his own in-house employees--not subcontractors. The next day I received a very thorough but uncomplicated contract with an unbeatable warranty. Sure warranties are only good as long as a company stays in business, but Kellen has a great business model, seems to truly care that everything is done right and will likely be around beyond my lifetime. I contacted Kellen right away to schedule the work to be done and was finely feeling confident about making the best possible choice. Communication with all involved was great! The first day, Mike, Joe and Steven came on time. Each of these guys are amazing! Not only did they do an obviously professional repipe, they were friendly, thoughtful and accommodating, even to my dog! Repiping is a technical and messy process and I can only imagine the difficulty of going into houses and businesses of all shapes, sizes, pipe materials and configurations and making a viable plan. These people are pros and brave soles! They made it less stressful for me and they proved to be skilled and top-notch! They did lots of prep work and made every effort to minimize construction dust and mess. The finished pipe work looked first class: tidy, sturdy and beautiful! Thereafter Todd and his friendly crew did the finish work with great patching, texturing and paint. The last day Kellen came for a final walk-through to make sure I was happy with everything. I had one small cosmetic issue and Kellen immediately had it addressed to my 100% satisfaction. Thank you Mike for a perfect touch-up! Since the repipe, I had a trenchless process done (again lots of research and being proactive) for my old cast iron sewer/drain lines (not a repipe issue) and also my old drip system valves replaced. Both companies commented that my repipe was done right with the best materials. No wonder Wise Monkey stands behind their work with a lifetime warranty on all installed piping and labor. They are an outstanding company and know how to do it right to make it last. I am grateful to them all! read more

We hired this team to re plumb our entire house, they were incredible. The job was done efficiently and done well. I would definitely recommend this team to anyone who is looking to have their house re plumbed. read more

I'm so happy I chose Wise Monkey for the repipe. They did a great job and went above and beyond with every aspect of the job. Every member of their team was professional and hard working. A great advantage in choosing Wise Monkey is that they do all the restoration (dry wall and paint). One opening was through my cedar closet. Todd did a great job in re-installing it. Kellen, Will, Christine, the two young men (sorry I can't remember their names) and all the team, were respectful and diligent through the entire process. Thank you to all for the work you did! read more

I am very happy with the work wise monkey Repipe did to my house in Folsom. We found out during our new home inspection that our pipes were kitec which is something that we didn't like/want and we had heard the nightmare story of water leaks because of it. so we decided to change all the plumbing and repipe the place. Wise monkey Kellen and his crew of Todd/stephen handled business for sure! They were always on time, professional and finished the job early. Kellen always kept me in the loop and their pricing was better than others! Plus they gave a lifetime warranty! They did everything I wanted/needed and I would highly recommend them to anyone changing their kitec plumbing or Repiping anything in general! 2 thumbs up read more

What a pleasure it was working with Wise Monkey Repipe and Construction during the repipe project at my house. Every single person was professional, respectful, personable, skilled, knowledgeable, courteous, and hard-working! From the detailed comprehensive estimate, throughout the non-invasive, precise, organized, repipe process, to the finish work and completed project, they were all very communicative, considerate of my time, and did an exemplary job! Upon completion of the job, you would never have known I had a repipe done. They cleaned up every day, water disruption was minimal, and the finish work of patching and painting the walls was more than I could ask for. This is such a great company. The three co-owners are all personally involved in every project from beginning to end. All the people who worked at my house were so pleasant, polite, patient, and skilled. The communication, follow-up, excellence, and expertise are well worth it and greatly appreciated. read more

We had to get a repipe done because of a leak under the slab. Insurance wouldn't cover it so we had to pay out of pocket. Not only were these guys considerably less expensive than a lot of other companies, they were efficient, dependable & professional. In places they had to get into the walls, they textured & paint matched so you'd never know there was work done. I'd definitely recommend this company to anyone! Thank you Kellen & William! read more

This story started off scary. Not a Kitec horror story. But close enough. My parents own a 2 story home built on slab. The original plumbing installed when built in 1980 served well. -Until it failed under the slab 3 years ago. Mom and dad just had a $3K handyman repair that involved jack hammering the slab in the family room, a patching of the pipe. Then it was all covered up and new flooring was installed. Now 3 years later it failed in the same place. I got involved with the situation and got an almost snide response that, "The warranty was only good for a year." Add the "insult to injury" that since the water leak was under the slab and technically not damaging the structure, would you believe homeowner insurance won't cover for that reason? We sought 3 bids for a repipe of the home. Again this is a 2 story house with 4 bathroom sinks, 3 tub/shower combos, 3 toilets, a kitchen faucet, washer, fridge, dishwasher hookups plus 1 backyard hose bib that needed to be repiped. Wise Monkey came in with a bid that was only a little bit more than the lowest of the 3 bids. Though Wise Monkey was the newest company among the 3 bidders, they stood out because: 1) of the estimator, Kellen. He was punctual, communicative, and very thorough in explaining all the steps to get the job done. He came multiple times throughout the multi day project to help out and make sure all was well. 2) though the bid wasn't the cheapest, the Wise Monkey repipe included COMPLETE repair of the drywall that needed to be cut open to access the plumbing points. (With color matched paint too!!) In contrast the other 2 companies only offered to nail up the patches that they cut out. We would have to patch, texturize, and paint ourselves. The few dollars difference over the bid from the cheapest bidder very clearly became negligible when you realize the value of the 1 vendor that provides the COMPLETE repair. 3) The team was always professional and super helpful for my elderly parents on the days that the wife or me couldn't come in from NV to oversee things. 4) the warranty on the work is amazing and transferable to a subsequent purchaser of the home! Like any project, it is a partnership that works best with involvement of both the vendor and the customer. Was there things that needed to be addressed? Sure. Kellen and team happily resolved everything to satisfaction well within the time-line of the project. Perhaps that is the advantage of being a newer company. They are not numb to the needs of the customer and aren't at all fazed by anything that they ran into on our 40+ year old home. They very quickly removed any apprehension we had about this large project. And they have above and beyond earned our gratitude. And if you are in need of a repipe, I hope my honest review helps alleviate some of your apprehension. read more

We had a great experience with Wise Monkey. The owner came out and walked us through step by step the process for our full house repipe, timeline and estimate cost. We shopped around and they used top quality pex, and we're reasonably priced. They showed up on time, did a great job in our two story house, and left with very little proof they were even there. They accommodated our needs. Highly recommend! read more

Superb! The best experience I have ever had with a contractor. This business has the re-piping process down to a science. Hardworking and pleasant guys. From the owners to the employees , everyone on the job was skilled and knowledgeable. I did not fully believe it when the owner told me there would be no physical trace of their work once they were done re-piping my home, but he was right. There is absolutely no trace of Wise Monkey having been in my house. Their wall patching, paint matching and clean-up skills are truly remarkable. More importantly, the re-pipe job was skillfully done and on time. I highly recommend this company. read more

In 2020 I was one of many who experienced copper pin hole leaks in Folsom, CA that totaled the downstairs bathroom. Both the insurance company and Folsom would not deal with the pipes. I did not want to repair the bathroom just to have the upstairs bath have a leak. Late 2021 getting bids and Wise Monkey Repipe and Construction was the only one out many calls for bids that gave a reasonable bid, came out and explained what they do and that part of their service was to repair and retexture the drywall. They even matched 20 year old paint. It is a good thing I took pictures because you can't tell where they cut into the walls. Kellen, Todd and Will were all very professional, on time, let me know if they would be late and cleaned up daily. Will constantly checked and rechecked all connections from the garage to the attic multiple times daily until he was satisfied. They made the least amount of holes in the walls as they could. They raised my outside spigots that were almost at ground level and winterized them. They also advised me of some potential roof leaks around pipes so I could advise the roofers that were coming next. This was truly a positive experience resolving a stressful issue for me. I highly recommend them and will be using them for for future projects. read more

This review is long overdue, however, it was really important to me that I write it nonetheless. Working with the Wise Monkey Team was a breath of fresh air! For a bit of context, I recently bought a home that needed a lot of TLC. From the get-go, the quote for our project was prompt--which I appreciated, given my concern with the kitec piping in my home. While in our home, the Team was professional, efficient and trustworthy. Additionally, they went the extra mile at every turn. For example, Will noticed that we had a small leak in our roof and let me know as soon as possible, thereby allowing me the opportunity to repair it before the storm season really got underway here. That's just one example of the integrity and care with which the Wise Monkey Team handled the project at my home. I would highly recommend them, without hesitation! Thank you again, Wise Monkey Team! read more

We are also Kietec "victims". Obtained several quotes from different contractors to repipe - one was $10,000 more than Wise Monkey! And that company doesn't provide the finishing work (like putting back the sheetrock, taping, texturing and painting!). We were impressed with the initial contact with Wise Monkey and went with them. We are now one month past completion. They did everything they said they would do. They did it in the time they said it would take. They were fussier than we were in terms of cleanup and the finishing work (our interior walls have not been painted in 12 years, but they matched the paint perfectly). No one would guess that walls were gutted and then restored. And all of the workers were pleasant, enjoyable to have in our home, and worked hard! We had anticipated it to be a nightmare, but it wasn't - and it is so nice to not have the worry of a Kitec disaster looming. ADDED Bonus - we have never been able to use hot water in the laundry because of severe hammering, plus it was getting worse in other areas of the house. No more!! No hammering ;-) - because all the piping is installed correctly and all the piping is insulated! read more

The unprofessional person showed up forty minutes late, no mask, and didn't have a mask. Apparently, tjey don't care enough about customers to consider if a person is immunocompromised for any variety of medical conditions. Tjey will be getting none of our business. read more

Called this business based on positive reviews. Did not disappoint. Frankly explained to me his schedule and when I could expect his arrival. Showed up on time, quoted a fair price and proceeded to explain exactly the process and what to expect. All of this was better than expectation already. But here is the best part. Job was to repair gouges in wall. When he was done, there was no indication of any prior damage. There were no raised areas to indicate a patch, and the texture matched exactly. read more
