The service was kind and prompt, street parking was easy, and while there are just a couple of tables to dine in, this pizza travels really well--so you can enjoy it anywhere! Must try the Clark Kent Pizza. Loaded with meatballs, banana peppers, cup n' char pepperoni, and a dreamy hot honey drizzle, it's the perfect mix of sweet, spicy, and savory. The Buffalo-style dough holds up like a champ to all those bold, delicious toppings. And getting to enjoy it with the creator himself? Such a cool bonus. We had take out and was not too impressed for a Buffalo Pizza. It was $36 before tax with two toppings. Not work the price. Could only eat two small slices. It was very heavy but not good. We oy tried this place since the other places closed earlier. read more

Since my last visit and review of Wiseguys Pizza, the business owner reached out to me, following up on the critiques I had. It was so refreshing for me to have this follow-up as it showed they want to earn my repeat business again as I had fallen off due to some quality and timing inconsistencies. They followed up again to let me know they made adjustments to their menu and then went a step further and created a new specialty pizza based on the pizza toppings I've been ordering around Buffalo. Based on the experience I had this Saturday, Wiseguys Pizza is coming back, with a vengeance, into my "go-to" pizza list!! On a Saturday, I called around 4:45pm and was connected to a young woman, who immediately informed me she was a new hire in training, which I appreciated - It helps to level-set expectations and show extra grace and patience. It took her a few times to get my phone number (I do have a Rochester-area code and live in Buffalo so it's a little jarring... haha) and when I asked for the new specialty pizza, she had a little difficulty finding it and at one point asked what toppings I wanted, so I was a little worried, but she quickly grabbed a manager and everything was squared away. Once my order was in the system, she told me it'd be ready in 30 minutes. I arrived about 35 minutes later and parked on the street, right at their front door. I walked in, paid for my pizza, chatted with one of the managers working for a moment, and walked out, literally two or three minutes I was in there. This was a critique from the last few visits so it was very refreshing to have my pizza ready when I got there, no delays! For dinner, I ordered a medium (13", eight slice) new, 2026 specialty pizza: The Clark Kent Pizza, which is mozzarella cheese, red sauce, pepperoni, HUGE slices of meatballs, banana peppers, then hot honey drizzled over it all. I took the business owner's recommendation of asking for the bottom to be a little extra crispy too. For transparency, they actually ended up making my pizza an extra-large (18", ten slice) but didn't catch it until they brought it out, but had no issue with me taking it, while paying the medium-size price. I will take a side-tangent here and say, whenever there was a mistake at Wiseguys Pizza, the management and staff have always gone above and beyond for me to make things right! I have had orders where the wrong toppings were put on and they go out of their way to make the right pizza and let me take home the "wrong" pizza, free of charge, and they deliver the right pizza for free, instead of having me wait around for it. The managers at Wiseguys Pizza are incredibly customer-first, friendly, and do whatever they can to accommodate. So, The Clark Kent Pizza... one of the best pizzas I have ever had, period! There was so much cheese and (not-so-sweet) red sauce on every slice. There were soo many pepperonis, the banana pepper rings were plentiful, adding a nice level of spice without scorching the tastebuds. But my goodness, the meatballs... 2025 was the year of ordering meatballs on pizza and Wiseguys Pizza's spin on meatballs has got to be the best I've had - Thick, meaty slices bursting with flavor. To help seal the deal was the drizzle of hot honey on top, which they measured out perfectly as each slice had an extra sticky, sweet heat, while not leaving your hands a sticky mess. Asking for the dough underneath to be extra crispy was also the solution I've been looking for as the dough was perfect this time - Not floppy, wet in the center and every slice held up the denseness of the toppings with zero issue, while the crust had an excellent level of crispy and chewy. It doesn't really need to be mentioned but the extra-large size is more than plenty for one person (even for a guy with a "healthy" appetite like me), but every slice was nicely sized and I'm looking forward to reheating the other half for dinner very soon. As for the price, even though I paid for a medium and received two sizes larger, I've ordered medium pizzas from Wiseguys Pizza before and they are very much in-line with the majority of Buffalo pizza shops, so no complaints/surprises here. If you've made it to the end of this review, congrats and thank you! haha After being reached out to by the business owner from Wiseguys Pizza, I saw how much they cared about his business, but also cared about earning my business back. That really impressed me. If you've read my other reviews, I really like Wiseguys Pizza, but the big thing now, for me at least, is they can consistently keep this level of quality. First thing is first. I owe a huge debt of thanks to Fox E. for the recommendation. That man is a genius when it comes to Buffalo pizza and wings. Second, more than anything, eating wings this good at a divey little take out pizza place in South Buffalo just makes me angry. Angry at so many things. Angry that so many other wing places fall far short of the brilliance of these wings. Angry at folks who flock to places that are banking on their historical reputations rather than the quality of their wings. Angry at those places who know better but still put out inferior wings. Dear God, these wings are good. From Fox's fingers to my ears. Wings, medium, extra saucy. There is no need to ask for them crispy, because these wings are perhaps the crispiest I have ever had. Even crispier than at Fox's other favorite place. AND that crispiness does not come at the expense of juiciness. Not at all. The meat is tender, flavorful, and pulls cleanly from the bones. If I was picking at nits, I might knock off a point for a broken emulsion in the sauce. But hot damn, that medium stuff is tasty and the exactly the flavor profile I want in a classic wing from this part of the word. Wings come with celery sticks and a nice super chunky blue cheese cup. At first I was concerned WiseGuys may have switched over to Ken's industrial cups, since I saw a case of those sitting in the fridge, but thankfully those concerns were misplaced. It's a damn near perfect wing. While Buffalo style pizza is still not my thing, this is one of the better versions I have tried. Perhaps because the dough isn't quite as thick. Don't get me wrong. It's still thick and doughy, as it should be. Just not quite as high. And I dig those thick cut, cup and char pepperoni. We were the only people I saw eating our food on site. There are two booths inside, and one small two-top in the window. On the side deck there are three picnic tables. There are no bathrooms. Tap water wasn't available and Dasani is what they have in bottles. There is little ambiance. Eating outside meant being asked for a dollar from a passing local, and then breathing in his second hand smoke as he sat on the steps and had a conversation with an equally colorful guy from the neighborhood. But you know what? With food this good, I am happy to put up with all of this and more. Eating these wings filled me with such a sense of bliss and joy, and yes anger too, but much much more joy. These are what wings should be. Everywhere. All the time. I feel like everyone who eats wings should come here and get a taste. Then, perhaps, we might be less forgiving of every other place that falls so far short of this benchmark. This is why wings are famous. This is why Fox E is a national treasure. The best foods are rarely found at the famous places. They are at these little off the beaten path places that hold the line and do damn fine work day in and day out. Get here. Get happy. Then get angry. Then tell your friends and anyone else who will listen. I am already looking forward to my next visit, whenever that may be. Oh, one last thing. On a Saturday night the slice display was empty. Maybe that's because it was Saturday night. Forewarned is forearmed. Regardless, it doesn't change a thing about the excellence and surprising supremacy of WiseGuys. read more

Mmmm! Loved, loved, loved this pizza. Just sticking with a staple, we ordered a large cheese and pepperoni pizza, with a side of blue cheese. This pizza was delicious. Perfectly crispy, classic buffalo cupped/spicy pepperoni and simple cheesy goodness. The sauce was different with a little bit of a sweeter touch, and once I added a little crushed red pepper, it was the perfect balance. If you look at the picture, it's almost like there was no crust on the pizza because it was perfectly covered in toppings, and that's exactly how I like my pizza! Every bite was full of flavor. This location is south buffalo had some of the best fingers I've had in a long time. A little bit more pricey than others places for fingers, but totally worth it. I live in North Tonawanda so I am trying to find places out-of-the-way from my normal comfort zone ....to eat pizza. So I just happened upon Wise Guys as a lark and it was literally better than any pizza I've had since I've been back in Buffalo. I love Casa De Pizza I love LaNova pizza. I love all the staples, but this place blows them out of the water. We just had a simple cheese and pepperoni pizza. Literally the best I've had since I've been home. Seriously the pizza here is the best. Fingers are always cooked to perfection! My oldest child is severely autistic and nonverbal has feeding issues and can't eat pizza so I'm glad they have that meatball dinner which he CAN eat. The menu says it comes with 4 meatballs but they always outdo themselves and give him at least 6! Amazing! They're delicious and always piping hot when they arrive. One time we left a really nice note while ordering online and they snuck in a FREE pizza coupon in the pizza box. What a nice surprise. Staff are amazing too. I love that WiseGuys is always out there in the community, helping out. That's why I think they stand out from the rest. Not many pizza joints are as generous. The drivers are always kind! I was at work. I was hungry. I wanted a chicken finger sub. What was I supposed to do? I turned to yelp! I work in Larkinville and even though I have some options I was looking to try a new place out. I stumbled across Wise Guys Pizza and immediately wanted to see what this place was about. I wanted a chicken finger sub so I called ahead to place my order and I accidentally ordered one without any sort of hot sauce, but I'm an idiot and and should of listened to the gentleman on the phone before rushing fo hang up. The food was finished 15 minutes later when I drove there to pick it up and the restaurant itself was super cool, on the darker side, and decorated with mafia memorabilia to fit the name. The gentleman working was friendly and I was in and out in just a couple of moments. When I opened the sandwich I was a tad disappointed but I recall him saying stuff on the phone I couldn't make out and just saying yes, so MY BAD. The chicken finger sub was a good size, cooked just write, and tasted excellent. What else could I of asked for? I was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed this sub with just then breaded chicken, lettuce, mayo, and onion, but it tasted so good. Overall, Wise Guys Pizza has earned itself a spot on my regular lunch day rotation and I even recommended them to a bunch of my coworkers. If guys eat here too much, they become Wide Guys. If you know what I mean. If you're coming here looking for Keanu Reeves, go instead to "Wick Guys." Or if you want a Buffalo style Roast Beef sandwich, try "Weck Guys." If you wonder what kind of men Fifth Harmony and RiRi are into, (and the men you should never date), that'd be "Work Guys." If you want to meet guys who don't have cars, try "Walk Guys." And if you like British men that don't have girlfriends, then you like "Wank Guys." So anyway. I'm famously in love with Wise Guys on Hertel and have sent many people there to get pizza and Eppy rolls and hoagies and their wonderful late night wings where the medium extra Saucy and Char barbecue might be the best in Buffalo. The pizza here isn't quite as good as that location although it has a great variety and it's still pretty delicious if a little unhealthy. I still give it five stars although (as with the location on Hertel and more so), when it's been sitting around for awhile in the warmers - which it often has at evenings and nights - it's just nowhere near as good. Be warned, these slices are heavy on the cheese and grease but then this is Buffalo. I prefer a saucier pie, but then my life is pretty saucy. Sauce here is a little on the sweet side, but unlike some places (cough, cough, Lockport), it doesn't ruin the slice. It's really good. Oh and look out for those people that try to clean your windshield at stop lights. You know, the "Wipe Guys." Service is nice especially the ridiculously attractive girl with the purple hair who may or may not still have purple hair. The owner seems really cool as well. I love the comments he gives to low-star reviews. I'm so over owners (especially of pizza shops lol) giving aggressive comments to negative feedback. From what I've seen on here, this guy is doing it right. Diplomacy and understanding. It's best for everyone. I date pretty conservative men these days. I used to be into the "Wild Guys." But anyway. Been here 3 times now for slices. Next time I come I will give the wings a try and perhaps see what kinds of Hoagies they have (and whether they have Eppy Rolls), and maybe they will be able match up to the brilliance of the Hertel Wise Guys with those products. This location is just another top notch Pizzeria to add to the long list of South Buffalo brilliance, such as Imperial, Bella, Blasdell and Mineo's South. As an aside: This pizzeria is named after the predominant ethnicity of men you'll find in South Buffalo. "White Guys." Buffalo has some of the best pizza in the country, alongside NYC and Detroit and perhaps Chicago. Do not miss it when you come to down. Forget Anchor Bar and Duff's, those places can't make wings to save their Blue Cheese. Pizza shops like this are the *only* places to get top notch wings, bros and sissies. It's not wise to sleep on pizza in South Buffalo. Not in literal or figurative terms. If you do it literally you'll wake up covered in grease. And yes, that is just grease. Oh wait. The Mafia (Wise Guys Pizza) was on the order menu in my Buffalo, NY hotel room. It looked interesting so I ordered two cheeseburgers and sides. The delivery took a bit longer than expected and the experience went bad when the delivery guy said he had to call in my credit card. He started giving my card info in the hallway of the hotel where anyone could hear it. So I stopped him and paid cash for the order. Then it appeared the delivery guy was not happy with my 10% ($3.00 Tip) on this $31.38 order that included a $5.00 Delivery Fee. So bottom-line, I cannot give this restaurant more than a two-star review. read more

Everyone that I have dealt with here have been extremely nice. The food is great, and the prices aren't bad either. I love their pizza. It is very very good. I ordered a personal pizza before, and it was the size of a small it seemed to me. Plenty of toppings on it as well. They didn't miss a beat. I don't know why I don't order from here more often. I'm being pretty gracious with the three stars ... large cheese/pepperoni is definitely Buffalo acceptable. Greek chicken salad was not good and I thought it came with a piece of pita bread? Beef taco was exactly like Mighty taco ... which is fine for some. This place did not live up to the hype, for me. We used to order almost every week when my son was in high school. Mostly for the Wednesday pizza deals because his friends came over right after school and played in a night basketball league. It was just an easy dinner for about 6 teenagers. Lately our neighborhood pizzerias are not always that good, so we went back to wiseguys. There pizza is done so good - burnt pepperoni, cheesy and great sauce. I forgot what I was missing. But a go to sub is the sausage meatball sub. That is so delicious. Wings sauce for mild was a little spicy but good but the bbq sauce is wonderful. Tried Wise Guy's Pizza in South Buffalo for the first time. Now, I do find my self moving away from the thick and soft Buffalo style pizza as my preferred pie. I strongly prefer thin and very crisp pizza. However, I have come to understand why WG's is so popular. The crust does steal the show. You can tell they use higher quality ingredients, dough tastes great. I do ask for extra well done pizza, and they take the time to get it right, therefore does deserve high marks.
