JC and his team did a fanastic job of reconfiguring an existing A/V rack, integrating new equipment and setting up the software on remotes and our family Ipad for operations. The equipment in our A/V rack was nearly ten years old and had received intermittent band-aids over the years. JC adding new components (apple tvs and signal extenders plus other misc) and eliminated unused/abandoned equipment, tied-down the wires and labeled equipment assignments for separate zones. HIs team spent a lot of time reprogramming the software, which had a half dozen different techs work on it in the past decade. On a scale of 1-10, JC and his crew at Wired AV get an 11. We recently purchased a home theatre system for our family room and Sonos system for music through out our house at Magnolia (Best Buy). We received a quote from Magnolia for installation that seemed high so we reached out to Wired AV and others for competitive quotes. JC impressed us from the very beginning. He arrived promptly to quote, made insightful recommendations, and quickly provided us with a fair, straightforward quote for the work. We received a total of four quotes for the project and felt JC's provided the most value. In terms of the installation we were not disappointed. JC and crew arrived on time and left the house clean! He made additional recommendations in terms of speaker and tv placement. He took the time to show us how the system worked and made sure techno dummies like us could work the system. We are in the middle of a remodeling project and have had multiple contractors perform work recently at the house, we can honestly say JC was one of the most professional and easy to work with. JC is Amazing. He has competed many jobs at my home for me and each time he exceeded my expectations. Configured 6 amps with 64 speakers throughout the house, both indoor and outdoor connected to 5 Sonos zones - Amazing!!! Installed a home theater: mounted projector, configured everything, installed an amazing sound system, he even found a double sided automatic screen allowing us to watch movies indoor and outdoor at the same time - Amazing!!!! Installed and configured 50 lutron light switches. We turn off our lights from bed now. Installed 16 Cameras all over the house, both indoor and outdoor - Amazing!! I'll start this update with the most important thing for potential customers of WiredAV to know: unless you specifically ask to have it changed, JC leaves himself as the owner / administrator on your network, with remote access. That means he, and potentially any of his employees, can access your network at any time, from anywhere they have internet access. It took a special trip out to our house for JC to make the changes that allowed us to remove him as administrator. On to the core of the update: Wired AV has now come back and fixed the issues, in part as a reaction to my initial review. But throughout the process, communication was problematic. JC apparently knows his stuff, but has difficulty communicating it. He is not at all clear, and he changes direction without always making the changes known to the client. For example, the proposal we accepted said our switch would be a PoE switch. But it wasn't. John later told us he had dropped out the PoE switch to save us money, but forgot to make the change in the proposal. And when he gave us a proposal for the upgrade work, he specified a non-PoE switch, but then decided we needed a PoE switch. Another example: JC told my wife he was not charging any labor for the upgrade work. Turned out he meant he was not charging any more than what he had put into the upgrade proposal I had accepted. (The charge was fine, but it was another bad communication). In the end, we have working wifi and LAN, but it took 2.5 months and an extra $400 to get it right. read more

I recently renovated my home, top to bottom. This means that I have a good understanding of the wide range in quality that you sometimes encounter dealing with Contractors. On the phone he was able to give me a fair estimate and plan a few optimal solutions for mounting a 55'' Sony OLED TV with Sonus to a wall with no power. He quoted a set rate for the first hour and then another rate by the hour every hour thereafter. I thought this was extremely fair and man did he work his damn ASS OFF!! John is no slacker. Even after he finished the job and we realized that the mount I purchased was a piece of junk-he kicked it into high gear and redid the job with an even better mount he supplied me with from his truck! I am writing this review about 2 months after work completion, just wanted to make sure all installations are working with no failure. Now I feel comfortable writing this review. We were referred to John by a friend as we planned to install sound, security, and Wi-Fi system in our house. It was part of major remodeling for a house we purchased last December. John and his team did all the pre-wiring work for a reasonable price compare to others. John gave us many suggestions and recommendations which helped us in decision making when choosing the appropriate system, we are very thankful for that. There was no hard sell whatsoever. Another provider flaked on us halfway through the job. Wired AV picked up where that guy left off, finished installing one TV, then went and picked up and installed a second TV in our rec room. JC gave us great advice on how to handle some old, outdated speakers in the house, and fixed us up with a Sonos system that sounds great. They also installed several Ring doorbells and security cameras, helping us gain visibility in blind spots around our property. There was one camera that just wouldn't connect, no matter what we did. The team quit after a long day, I dropped the ball on getting them back to finish, but then JC followed up and came back to make sure the job got done correctly. My husband and I were looking to upgrade our sound system to allow surround sound in our master bedroom. Our house is old Spanish which means the walls are not level and mounting anything is a challenge. Not for Wired AV's crew! They were able to install surround sound speakers flush and evenly, maintained an immaculate workspace and assisted in syncing the system with our Sonos. While on this visit we asked to check the wiring on one of our outdoor speakers in which they came back and replaced the speaker at no charge.
