Last night, for less than $40, we enjoyed an exciting game of baseball, snacked on ice cream treats, met the Boomers mascot, Coop, caught a t-shirt launched into the crowd, and sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" on the field with Mr. Belding from Saved by the Bell (yep, you read that right). I mean, how can I NOT give this place five stars?! But really, it's a fabulous stadium to spend a night at the ballpark with friends or family. Parking is easy and free, and there are so many entertaining theme nights. If you catch a game on a Friday or Saturday night, stick around for the fireworks. And if you attend any other day, you can run the bases or get some autographs after the game, too. It's pretty clean for a stadium (although my daughter wasn't a big fan of all the bugs in the family bathroom). Concessions are also pretty varied and they offer some specials, including $1 hotdogs on Tuesdays. I've heard nothing but accolades about the soft pretzels. The crowd seemed pretty lacking last night, so get on out there and support those Boomers! read more

Jason Isbell concert. Love the guy but this baseball stadium kinda sucked. Parking will cost $20 for a bunch of safety vested bafoons screaming at you to get your car parked! Welcome to the show. Consider the adjacent Metra train lot for $2. They park a pickup truck in the middle of the street to discourage it but, drive around that bafoon to get to the lot. Inside the park my $75 seat was broken. Fortunately there were lots of empty seats. The sound was quite bad. Muffled unintelligible words. Worst was looking through the net all night. Guess they couldn't be troubled to take it down. The fucking thing stretches from side to side. There's no seat that don't look through it. I wouldn't go here for a concert again. Oh yeah, there's a consistent stream of small airplanes landing right over the rooftop all night. read more

You know if my glamorous 13 year daughter asks to go here it's got to be pretty fun. When traveling with a total of 8 kids and three families give me a Boomers game ANYDAY over the Cubs. Sorry Cubs...I liked going when I was 16 and had all day to blow taking buses and trains and capping it off by stalking Ryne Sandberg for his autograph. For $10 you get a seat....free stuff (sometimes ice cream...swag...beer samples, you name it) and on Fridays, FIREWORKS and to run the bases. Kids don't know the difference between Rizzo and some 22 year old A-ball player so it's all good. I took my Cub Scout den there on "scout day" and they had a blast. read more

The stadium is a great and inexpensive way to enjoy a ballgame. The food service sucks. We waited half the game in line to get food some lines never moved. They need to fix their food distribution and add more venues. It seems like the food is prepared on demand which is a very slow process. Who has time to wait for a hotdog to turn on the cooker. read more

I enjoyed my first visit to this venue. Free parking for the baseball game. Staff were friendly. Pretzel and a Pepsi was $10 and a pork chop sandwich was about $9. Definitely a family friendly atmosphere. I was surprised that it was not even half full for a great weather day (a little humid). Promotion for today's game was supposed to be a squirt gun fight on the field after the game. Unfortunately it was cancelled because of an oncoming storm. There is a children's section behind left field. Several games in between innings to keep people entertained. Also a Metra station is less than a half mile away. I think I will be back, possibly for an evening game when they have fireworks after the game. read more

It's great to see baseball once again at Schaumburg Field (formerly Alexian Field). We attended the Sunday evening game before Memorial Day. First row seats along the 3rd base side cost just $10. As the first reviewer stated, it's a great family atmosphere. Everyone is into the nice family vibe even if you don't have kids. The concessions are a step up from the usual ballpark fare. There are Bobak's sausages, pot roast sliders, a bunch of BBQ selections and the Brat-A- Boom - a 2 foot brat! They have a couple of Leinie's and Blue Moon on tap for only $6. Free parking, reasonable concession prices and a great, little ballpark all combine for a great experience. The Boomers play in the independent Frontier League. The league is celebrating their 20th year. (A "Boomer" refers to the Greater Prairie Chicken which is an Illinois endangered species. The booming refers to the males' low, booming calls when they are trying to attract a female.) I wish the Schaumburg Boomers many years of success and hope they draw a loyal following! read more

Went to my first minor league Baseball game and I had a Great time! If your looking for a fun, family friendly outing, consider catching a Boomers Game. Me and my wife went to our first boomers game. We had two dollar beers a pretzel and a hotdog. We were trying to enjoy ourselves but we were being trampled by little children that were not being watched by their parents even though there are designated areas for children and the security did not do anything. Now I know why the stadium was not even a quarter full. But if you're looking to let your kids run wild well you and your adult friends get drunk this might be the place for you. read more

Frontier league baseball stadiums can be less than thrilling. The Boomers stadium is one of the best ones in the minor leagues! The homemade pretzels here are some of the best I've had, and not just at a ballpark. If your pretzel is cold or not super appetizing, just ask for a new one, they're worth getting them while they're hot. The beer selection could be improved, but the prices are great and hey, it's a ballpark. The real shining star of this place though is the staff- you can tell they just love baseball and the team works hard. Super fun to watch and hang out. Beautiful sunset views, too. read more

Good fun at the games this year. The stadium is cozy, the food pretty good, enough beer to drink and free parking. The actual on field product isn't great, but what do you expect for independent league level players? Take the family out next season! read more

What a great place to spend a day or night for a game! The stadium in beautiful and laid out nicely, not too big like going to a major league team. The staff is all friendly. The food is all good and reasonably priced and they serve ice cold beer that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. If you love baseball, love being in a ball park or have kids that you would like to introduce in a smaller dose than jumping them straight to the bigs this is the place to go. Free parking, close location in the suburbs and it's a truly fun family atmosphere. I was impressed with the on the field antics between innings, the staff encouraging the fans to get behind the team and the overall feeling that everyone there is having fun. read more

I normally wouldn't attend a baseball game, because I think baseball is pretty boring. My kids participate in Special Olympics sports and they were doing a group outing here so we decided to participate. The tickets we got in the mail said the game was for 6p and we were supposed to get there by 5:45p. We got to the stadium about 5:30p and I LOVE that the parking is free and very close to the stadium. We ate dinner beforehand so I didn't have to spend $ on their overpriced food, but still snuck some snacks in my purse. Shhhh. Little did I know that practically everyone sitting around me had done the same. We were all supposed to meet at a certain location by 5:45p because the special Olympics was going to walk on the field before the game started. Well guess what? Come to find out that our tickets were printed with the incorrect game time. The game didn't start until 7p so we were basically there almost an hour early. Agh! We watched a wrestling tournament type thing while waiting. At about 6:45p my kids paraded around the field which was very cool and I got some nice pictures. The game started at 7p and we sat down to watch. I wasn't sure how my kids would do sitting for that long, but they did great. There were songs and games and all kinds of stuff like that peppered in throughout the game to keep their interest. The Boomers even donated hot dogs, chips, and drinks for all of us. Nice! I felt like this place was very clean and I felt safe being there. I even let my 9-year old go to the bathroom by herself! That is how safe I felt at this complex. After the game, there was a fireworks show which we stayed for. I suggest bringing your own light-up necklace because they sell them for $2 each when you can buy 10 of them for $1 at Michaels or elsewhere. After the fireworks, everyone could run the bases but it was 10:30p by this time so we opted to leave. Even though we only went here as part of a group outing, I would really like to go again using one of their package deals. read more

Best hidden secret in the Chicago area. Modern facilities, family fun, cheap beer, cheap food, cheap tickets, great atmosphere, and easy to get too! I love it! read more

Other than being a convenient location there isn't too much more that I can say about this place. We took our three grandsons here last Saturday for the Star Wars themed night. The game was boring as neither team had a lot of talent to keep it interesting. The most entertaining was the characters that came out after each inning. Prices are ridiculous. $8.00 beers, $4.00 for 1 scoop of ice cream, $5.50 for 1 slice of pizza. Crazy, especially when you are buying for more that one child. I guess most people agree that it's not worth the money as the stadium wasn't even half full and this was on a Saturday night with fireworks. Would have to have a really compelling reason to sit through 9 innings of boring baseball before I would go back. read more

Scott and I went to a Boomers baseball game on Tuesday against the Rockford Aviators. We usually go to the Kane County Cougars in Geneva. So, this will be a comparison of the two teams and their ballparks. First, parking, The Boomers' parking is free, while the Cougars charge for parking. The cost of admission is about the same. The concessions are much superior at the Cougars. There is a greater selection of food and drink. The condiments are also superior at the Cougars, with fresh cut tomatoes and onions, as well as sliced jalapeños, relish, mustard, catsup, and sport peppers. The condiment table is set up with access from both sides. At the Boomers' game there was only mustard, catsup, and relish with access only from one side. The Boomers have less entertainment between the innings, which to me is a plus. It keeps the game moving and is probably better for the players to stay focused. The Cougars have some really annoying entertainment that really slows down the game. I mainly am referring to Birdzerk and similar acts. The Cougars also often have fireworks after the games, and they do a good show. Now I really show where I place the importance of food. Overall I prefer the Kane County Cougars because of the better concessions. read more

I would have given more stars but my family and I saw a small little girl get hit in the head with a baseball in the grass area. That alone is certainly not the fault of the Boomers. However, I was upset that no medical attention was immediately forthcoming. This girl needed way more than ice. I think this needs to be corrected with medical staff on hand to responded promptly. Just was sad. More importantly I hope that young girl is doing alright. read more

Not bad. Concession lines are so long people actually leave to get food and one back. Quite ridiculous actually. 3 innings sitting in line for peanuts. No roaming concessions either. Sad. Tip: bring your own food and drinks. Smuggle them in a back pack. read more

Mom of 2 kids, 8 and 4 years old. This is an awesome experience for everyone in the family. Went to a Cubs game, spent a fortune on a bunch of nothing's with over an hour of rush hour traffic. That was not worth it! Watching the Boomers is more fun, a better value, super friendly staff, play area for the little ones, they get to run the bases, throw tennis balls on the field, watch 4th of July worthy fireworks every Friday night and even meet the ball players. My kids had a blast! Talk about an amazing value, a great experience and so much fun! I hate watching base ball, but not the local Schaumburg Boomers- now that's FUN! read more

Loved this place. I would give it 5 stars if the food wasn't so incredibly expensive. It's really good quality food, but a burger (no fries or drink) for $18?! Maybe it's changed since we were there last summer, or maybe not all the concession options were open...We left the park, went to Wendy's and ate, then came back. That said, it's super family friendly, the seats are cheap (and they also have lawn seats if your kids want to run on the grass), they let the kids run the bases, they have fireworks often, you usually get something when you come in the door...they have fun stuff happening every inning...tons of fun! Oh, and there must be a small airport nearby because Cessnas were flying overhead frequently. Parking is free and close. read more

Great place to watch baseball. Comparing it with Kane County is fair considering one has the backing of a major league team and the other doesn't so I just base it on how likely I would be to go back. Pros Parking is free. The tickets are cheap. The facility is clean. The attendance is fairly low so there is plenty of room to spread out and get a good sight-line. The staff is very friendly. The players are friendly and sign lots of autographs before the game. The team is very good. Cons The food is a bit on the expensive side, but the BBQ pulled pork on the first base side is pretty good. They also have water fountains so after you finish your beverage you can fill up the cup. Some of the sound effects and songs get annoying and repetitive if you attend multiple games. I've gone to a half dozen games this season and I've always enjoyed myself. Definitely worth the 30+ minute trip. I just bought my tickets for the first Boomer's playoff game and I'm super excited to be there. It's a great place for families or anyone that simply enjoys watching live baseball. GO BOOMERS! read more

On a July 4th family trip to Chicago, we wanted a low-key event for the fireworks that wasn't too crazy & crowded. Seeing a Boomers game was the perfect choice. Well maintained stadium, lots of sideline activities for the kids, easy parking & fair prices. We will be back on future trips! read more

I've been to 1 game here as i love going to games in their league. I went this last saturday the stadium itself is one of the nicest minor league stadiums i've been to. The team is good, the food and drinks are good. The Buffet is only like 90 minutes long and its only burgers and hot dogs as the main food dishes for 20 bucks and it was cold burgers and they had cheap hot dogs as well. It's worth going to for watching a game, but skip the buffet and eat at their concession stands instead. read more

I attended the Schaumburg Boomers Game and let me just say that it was a lot of fun. To start off, If you are in the military, the Boomers honor your Military ID for a free ticket to any game. A good time, for good admission price. Family friendly, fun themes (Zombie baseball was very fun), close to home, friendly staff. Seats are good on the lawn or in the seats. Only bad part is food is expensive and could be cleaner(there was garbage and peanut shells from a previous game when we went last time). but overall a good time. read more

I work for a large international company that decided to have an event at the Boomers stadium for the first time (we normally go to the Cougars Stadium). It was a fun night out for our group and we were very pleased. read more

Worse place I ever being to I will never return food is terible drinks are water down

I've been very impressed with the Boomers so far. After spending 3 seasons working in minor league baseball, I'm now attending games as a fan. Free parking, affordable tickets and concessions, great customer service, an awesome video board, family friendly atmosphere and well played baseball is going to keep me coming back. Things have not been perfect, but how many businesses open their doors and do everything right on their first day? The great thing is that problems were corrected between opening night and the second game, and I'm sure they'll continue to fix problems and improve this year and in the future. I think the thing that I have enjoyed the most so far is the community/family atmosphere, rather than the corporate feel that other local teams have recently adopted. I'm not sure if it's the affordable pricing, free parking, involvement of the front office in so many aspects of the game or the smaller venue, but it is very noticeable and appreciated by someone who has worked for a "corporate" team. I can't wait to go to more games and continue to see the improvements that the team implements. I'm looking forward to seeing this team grow and become a fixture in the community. read more

How much fun is this place? They delivered on their promise to have a championship in their first 100 years of ownership! Go Boomers! And anything named for the iconic Prairie Chicken that features a person in a Prairie Chicken suit at every game (that would be the mascot, Coop Boomer) has got my dollars. I've been to at least 5 games and have never had a bad time. All the seats are close. This has to be one of the most family-friendly places around here. They have theme nights (my daughter loved Star Wars night, complete with the 501st Legion's Storm Troopers). They have fireworks. Everyone can run the bases after every game. You can buy a tennis ball and throw it on the field to win a prize. And the baseball has been very fun. These guys play very hard, being below even A minors, this may the be last and only chance for many of them to play professionally. And they really put their hearts into the game, making for a fun event. As for the food, yes, the service is slow. Yes the lines are long. The prices are certainly no worse than Wrigley or the Cell. They have a wide liquor selection. There is easy access to this place off the Elgin-O'Hare. It's closer than Kane County if you are coming from the North or Northwest burbs. Give them a chance, you won't be disappointed! read more

Don't waste your money..........go watch a free little league game instead.

Been to a couple of games this year. Alot of fun, sunday 4 pack. 4 tickets, 4 drinks and 4 hot dogs $29. Great value.

We took our Family to the Boomers game on 8-6-16 and we had the best time. The game was good although the Boomers lost. Food was good and reasonable for a ballpark. The entertainment inbetween innings was enjoyed by all. We stayed for the fireworks, they were great. The marshmallow event after the game was the best and everyone ran the bases afterwards. The weather could not have been better if we ordered it. What a exceptional place to have American Family fun. All of the other fans were respectful of others. We will do this again. read more

Went here for the first time ever and there are some things that left me shocked. One of them is the fact that they allow youngsters to operate the food stations/registers. Every food station I went to was a complete mess. One didn't give me my change back from a $20.00 Another gave me back too much change. Another didn't know what food they had and didn't have and had already rang me out so I had no choice but to take the meat option. Just kind of a mess leaving your finances in the hands of basically children. Although we really enjoyed the game, I didn't think it was necessary for the boomers to keep flashing the get loud sign on when these kids are just screaming at the top of their lungs right behind you. Once, fine, two three four times, NO. I get that it is a ballpark and kids will be there but have a certain area for kids only or have a certain area for adults only so we can all enjoy the game. Because these parents are only here with their kids to get drunk since they can get a cheap ticket for their kids to just act a mess. Hopefully I will see some changes on my next visit because it is a nice close spot to do something but kind of frustrating. read more
