First of all this place had no parking lot! Drove around for 20 minutes and ended up parking 15 minutes away on the street and got a ticket in the end. Show started at 8pm luckily we still made it in by 8:15pm. Than to make matters even worse music soul child or de la soul didn't even perform! Ummm can I get a refund. After emailing Wintrust as to my dissatisfaction at their venue, I was contacted by Misty who effectively apologized and offered me three free tickets with box seats to the Fantasia Concert. I had the best time of my life! Everything went smoothly. Thanks to Wintrust and Misty I have a renewed opinion as to quality customer service of which I myself am a Professional. We went here for the opening event of Mavis Staples opening for Bob Dylan. The security was very slow. Sightlines and acoustics were good. Concession management was poor. The light/ lite beer was overpressurized slowing down everything. Will be good for basketball.Hopefully will grow to be better. read more

Just went to the Wintrust Arena on May 11,2018. The service was HORRIBLE!!! No organization at all. Once you get out of your car, their is no visible direction to get to the arena. Everyone looking lost trying to figure out how to get to the over path to get to the arena. Their wasn't any signs at all about women with large purses aren't allowed in the arena or pictures of what size posted that's acceptable. After standing in line for 1 hour and a half women was getting turned around because their purses was to large even women with cross body purses was turned around. The people that was responsible for what size purse you supposed to carry forgot about women have sanitary napkins etc....My husband and I arrived at the event 1 hour and 20 minutes prior to the 8:00pm performance and still didn't get seated until 8:30pm. 1st performance of Eric Benet missed all of his performance except for the last 2 minutes!!!!! Concession stand employees laughing and talking socializing while in again waiting in long lines. This was our first time ever coming to the Wintrust Arena and I will not be coming back and will discourage friends and family not to come either. My friend and I attended a V103 sponsored concert with Common and Erika Badu last nite and it was my first and probably last time attending any event here. First, the folks directing traffic were very vague about giving directions to the parking garage. We just circled the block when we could have kept straight on Cermak and made a right turn (eastbound). Second, the folks in the garage told us that women are not allowed to bring purses into the arena. So here we are trying to find room in our pockets for our phones, wallets, makeup, Kleenex, keys, etc. Pity for the women who might need their monthly personal care products! When we got to the arena to check in, we saw a lady with a purse coming through security and my friend asked Security why this lady was allowed to bring in her purse and Security responded that "a high level person just changed the rule." Third, $6 for a bucket of popcorn -- when I only needed a small portion for myself. If you have high blood pressure, don't buy the popcorn because it's already salted for you -- whether you like it or not. The layout of the arena is not practical for a concert, in my opinion. The seats we purchased required us view the performances from an angle. The acoustics could have been better -- too loud to actually hear the music. I saw the long lines at concessions but I think it was more for the folks wanting mixed drinks. Finally, leaving the arena ...more drama. Being that it was below freezing, we just followed the exiting crowd that snaked through the arena and walked across an enclosed sky bridge to the garage. We were on the 3rd level and needed to go to 1st level. Ok. How do we get down to 1st level? There are several signs "Stairs" but when you go into the stairwell and get the the 1st level the doors are locked. So you've got all these people going up and down the stairs trying to get to their cars and not an employee or security person in sight. Somehow we ended up outside in the cold outside the Hyatt. If it had't been for a few patrons on the inside to open the door, we would have had to find our way back to the arena and then walk back across the street to the garage. It was really concerning that we could not find someone who worked on the premises. After wandering around for a few more minutes, we finally found a security person who pointed us in the right direction. So it took us about 20-25 minutes to exit the arena and get to the car. I can't imagine myself spending money to attend any event here in the future. It's just too complicated! read more

Xavier fan. Second time at DePaul game in 3 years. They were out of both hot dogs and hot pretzels at the start of half time. I paid $50 for tickets and expected to eat at the game. This is beyond embarrassing. New stadium, in the premier league of the NCAA and can't event feed the fans. Never going to advance to the next step if they act like a D league. The venue is shiny and new but definitely has some kinks to iron out. I went to a music concert (Badu, Common, De La Soul). Music and performances were amazing, but the venue kinda sucked. I was on the 2nd level and was shocked that there was only 1 screen, the view was horrible. This venue would probably be appropriate for a b-ball game or other sporting event, but not a musical concert. Also I was dropped off by my SO, but one of my friends had issues entering and exiting the garage and reported it was a lengthy process that truly tested her patience. Also my friend informed me that she had to put her purse in the car as staff informed her she could not bring anything more than a very small clutch in. I thought that was strange or staff was misinformed because I had a crossbody bag and no one said anything about said restrictions to me. I unfortunately have tickets for other upcoming events at this venue. The venue is still new let's hope it will improve w time. read more

Why was I told when I showed up that I had to walk back across Cermak, in the cold, to check my purse. My purse! It's not even big! How long will it take to get it back? Where else do you have to leave your purse across the street!!!! Women, don't go. They don't care about you. read more

We attended the Patti LaBelle and Friends concert on October 19, an early birthday outing with my guy. Thank goodness he had the foresight to park a block away in a parking garage. After dinner, we took Uber back to the concert and arrived by 6:30 as that's when the doors were supposed to open; they did not open until 7:00-ish! As we got out of the Uber, we noticed a crowd of people looking around as there was no clear direction on where to stand. We saw ladies lined up for "baggage check!" I read on the Wintrust Arena's website which bags were acceptable for entry, so I purchased one for the event. However, that policy needs to be more transparent. What about those who are not internet savvy? At one of the entrances - just one- there was a female security guard YELLING at us about purses - no bull horn - so most of us had no idea what she was saying. This is extremely poor customer service!!! How dare you yell at us like we're being reprimanded! We paid good money for this event and did not come to be scolded about the wrong purse! I saw elderly women asked to leave the "invisible" line and told to go and stand in the long-ass check baggage line! You should be ashamed of how you treated our elderly and disabled citizens! Once we started moving, we all shuffled along, in our undefined lines, through the doors they did not stay open. Once we made it to our seats, we discovered we could not get too comfortable and relax as people who arrived late, due to the disorganization of the venue (i.e., parking, baggage check)' we had to continually stand or shift to let them pass. Why aren't the doors propped open for easy entry? Why on earth don't you have adequate signage on how to proceed? Why aren't the lines clearing defined by ropes? Since the bag issue is in place to prevent crime, shouldn't this be made clear at the time of purchase - verbally - in writing??? Why are you holding people's bags with minimal security in place? Why are you assuming that everyone understands or has read your Bag/Purse policy - shouldn't you be equally proactive to ensure a seamless, smooth transition for venue goers??? Exiting was a nightmare as well! So many people converged on the escalators at once and when you got to the bottom to exit, the doors we originally entered were now blocked off - ironically, with the line control bands you should have used outside!!! I am giving the arena 5 stars for the employees. From the parking attendants, to security at the entrance, to the vendors, every single employee I encountered was welcoming, friendly, helpful, and good at their jobs. Thanks for making my first time at a Chicago Sky game so much fun! read more

The Wintrust Arena is terrible. Freddie Jackson and Stephanie Mills were great. Aside from that, I have never experienced such poor service at an Arena. I attended the Patti Labelle and Friends concert and it was a disaster. The doors didnt open on time, and when we arrived, the line was a over a block long outside. They had a security guard walking around measuring purses using a picture of a purse on a sheet of paper. If a purse didnt measure up, you had to get out of line and go to another line, outside as well, to check your purse. I had never heard of such a thing, nor did the Agent inform me of this, when I purchased my tickets at the Wintrust Box Office. I took my mother to the concert, and we had to check her purse. We received a ticket to get our purse, when the concert ended. Well, when we went back to the purse area, there were 3 security officers there, and they were taking tickets, but they had no order in terms of where the purses we placed. I couldn't believe it. It was raining out and they were asking for the color of the purse, and making excuses that they weren't the people who placed them. They even allowed a few people in the area to get their purse. The area should have been secure and off limit to the public. I couldnt believe it. It was the worst experience. I encouraged everyone to leave reviews about how poorly we were treated, and I see some have done just that. I honestly feel that this if the concert goers were more diverse, we wouldnt have been subjected to this! I have left a review on Google, Wintrust FB Page, here, and I am going to email/call and post on any available site that allows a review. read more

The arena is great, the parking, concessions and event staff are not. We got to the DePaul-Marquette game half an hour early and got to our seats at halftime. The event staff directed you to Lot A, then told you it was full and to use Lot B. They pointed us in the wrong directions and said go to "31st an Mo". Mo turned out to be MLK. We drove down Cermak for a few miles before doing a U-Turn to go back to the last Lot B sign. We got to an electronic sign pointed in the wrong direction saying Lot A was full. Lot B had traffic cones blocking the entrance though driving past it you could see plenty of open spots. They opened a lot near B that was previously closed and we took the shuttle to Wintrust. They only had a couple of concession stands open, so after getting a beer, there was only ten minutes left in the game. They even closed some curtains so you couldn't watch the game while in line. read more

First of all, great stadium to watch a game in but like other reviews about Wintrust the fan experience had to be one of the worst at the recent ND game. As stated by a few other reviewers, shortage of restroom facilities, no concourse room to move freely, long lines for concessions and no vendors working the aisles. What were they thinking? Most venues these days have access to the whole stadium via the concourse but an oversized "Blue Demon Room" blocks any consistent flow that the stadium potentially could have. Whoever designed this arena obviously only thought of half of the design as it is grossly inadequate for any large crowds that this venue may hold. If Depaul in fact actually does achieve that consistent winning program there better be some major adjustments so the fans can actually get to the bathrooms in time. All this money spent and it kind of makes you wonder about the planning that went into this! Look at it this way, you're half way there! Now might be the time to finish the project!! read more
