The location was perfect, and we felt completely comfortable and at home throughout our visit. We liked to sit out there every morning and night to watch the sun rise and set through the pine trees. We truly couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We would return in a heartbeat and will be recommending this place to all of our friends and family. Thank you for helping make our trip so memorable--we can't wait to come back!

We stayed at Edgewood Mansion for my 40th birthday during New Years Eve. My husband planned the…read moretrip to include my closest girlfriends and their families. From the beginning to the end we had the best experience. The mansion has so much history, is perfect to accommodate multiple families with en suites, huge kitchen, many places to relax, and plenty to do. We had kids from ages 4 to 10. We thought we would run out of things for them to do. Not at all. The mansion is so huge, they had plenty of room to stretch out, the hills on the property provided for fun sledding and snowman building. The adults were either at the sauna, jacuzzi, kitchen, outside in the snow walking the 2 acres of property or just relaxing in one of the many comfy nooks. I highly recommend Edgewood Mansion for any type of event whether it's a birthday trip, family reunion, corporate retreat or any other purpose where you want to feel like you're at home, or provided for like a Queen. The location which is located higher up in the mountains is away from the traffic. The accommodations are immaculate and the concierge services provided by Chantal who was available to us 24/7 before we got there and during, was spot on. We catered instead of cooking which was so much easier on everyone so we could enjoy each other's company versus cooking. Chantal gave us choices and she had Mexican food delivered one night, Italian catered another and on New Years Eve we had a personal chef, Mike who is a master chef create the most delicious surf and turf dinner. We had piles of Alaskan king crab legs and the freshest, tastiest filet. Everything was provided. This was an amazing trip because of where we stayed, the owner Laura who was so accommodating and Chantal who was so helpful. Our friends have not stopped thanking us for coordinating this trip. We all got to spend time together with the kids together and not feeling overwhelmed because everything was at our fingertips. Thank you to Laura, Chantal, Irvin and the maintenance crew, Sherri our housekeeper and the magical Edgewood Mansion.

We were a few days away from closing escrow on a house in Big Bear when we started looking for property management companies. Based on the 100% positive yelp reviews and great initial conversation with Miguel, we decided to go with CA Mountain Rentals to help us manage the property. Immediately paid off. The day after we signed paperwork with him (which was also the day we were to transfer the funds and close escrow on the house), Miguel decided he wanted to stop by the new place to check it out (a testament to his thorough nature... we didn't ask him to stop by, he just did). When he did, he noticed something that our realtor, property inspector, and seller/sellers agent all failed to mention or notice... the fact that both the parking spots and a decent portion of the stairs were built on city property, meaning it would not be allowed in the vacation rental program (a big part of the equation for us), and the city could tell us at anytime that we needed to rip the stairs down and move THE MOUNTAIN about 12 feet back, probably a 6 figure, months long project! After confirming this with the city (also coordinated by Miguel), we were able to get our deposit back and walk away. We were roughly an hour from going to the bank to wire the money when Miguel called to let us know. Major bullet dodged. Original real estate agent fired. Enter EXP realty. Working with Miguel & Amber on the real estate purchase side was equally fruitful and easy. They were incredibly responsive & insightful about the local market, introduced us to contractors, and even went by the local Spectrum office for us to help get internet setup when the corporate office was being uncooperative! We just closed escrow on a new (and much nicer) house 60 days later and couldn't be happier. Needless to say, they've gone above and beyond and it's been a pleasure to work with them. We couldn't recommend them highly enough, and look forward to doing business with them for a long time.

For 20 years I've managed my own rentals (this is the first time I've used a company) and self management was brutal. You're basically on-call 24/7 because the second a guest can't figure out the hot tub, the WiFi, the lock, or decides the forest has "too many bugs," your entire evening is gone. ‍ What I appreciate most is that they actually treats this like a partnership. They care about the guest experience as much as I do, and they're insanely responsive. I'm on the message threads with guests, so I see how they handle things in real time. Professional, calm, patient, and never reactive, even when guests are being... let's just say "creative." One thing they said early on when we onboarded really stuck with me. They told me they intentionally say "our home" when talking to guests because they want guests to feel like they're staying with people who are personally invested in their experience, not some faceless management company. And honestly, it works. You can see it in the reviews. Guests constantly mention Natalie by name because they remember her. That says a lot. People don't remember automated customer service. They remember when someone genuinely takes care of them, and she really does. They've also helped me navigate permitting, operational stuff, and all the random homeowner stress that comes with having a rental in Arrowhead. Every time I call, they answer. Every question gets handled. I trust them completely, which is not a sentence I say lightly. And yes, I initially had the same thought everyone has: "Do I really want to pay a management fee?" After working with them, absolutely yes. Worth every penny. The biggest thing they gave me was peace of mind. I don't spend my life thinking about the house anymore. They also market properties on their own website, which brings in bookings we wouldn't have gotten otherwise. I basically see those as bonus bookings. Our reviews are 100% 5 stars, and a huge part of that is because of how they operate behind the scenes. I've recommended them to a ton of homeowners in Arrowhead at this point, and every single person comes back saying the same thing: "Oh thank god." Now I just go enjoy the mountain without any stress.

We live in Vegas, so I wanted a change of scenery . . . Big Bear it was. Took us approximately 4 1/2 hours with traffic. ***if this is your first time driving from Vegas to Big Bear, please note that you are literally driving up the mountain to get there. The road is crazy windy, so keep that in mind if you go when there's inclement weather. A quick google search led us to Big Bear Manor Jacuzzi Cabins. Very reasonably priced, and very close to Village Dr (it's where all the shopping and restaurants are). Upon check-in, we were warmly greeted with lots of tips on places to eat, and things to do. We were given cabin #12 (my favorite number) and it was perfection!! There is a covered car port next to the cottage. As you walk up to the door, there's a covered patio with a little table and chairs. When you walk in, there's a queen bed to your left with nightstands and lamps on top. To the right, there's a huge jacuzzi, working fire place (not gas, a "real" fireplace) and a tv mounted to the wall that swivels to the left and right. A little kitchenette with basic kitchen utensils, mini fridge, sink, microwave, and toaster oven. Bathroom with shower in the back. Very cozy living space!! We lucked out because it snowed a couple of the days we were there. A rarity to see when you live in Las Vegas. We took full advantage, and had a fire going 24/7!!! We can't wait to go back both with and without our kids. The fireplace lit up with just the two of us was such a romantic getaway. We also can't wait to share big bear with our children because they too are going to go crazy over being in the woods and skiing or swimming depending on what time of year we come back. And we will definitely be back!

We had 2 pillows for 2 beds (extras weren't available), but what looked like a handyman did show up with extra bedsheets that were rolled up in a bowl and held against his dirty clothes. The overhead light was broken, the floors were absolutely filthy, the windows were off track and couldn't stay open or lock. The hot tub, which was the main reason we rented this cabin, is cracked and peeling and was dirty on arrival. I bought cleaning supplies before I realised that the hot tub was completely unusable. When water hit the basin it threw little pieces of peeling of paint into the water. The kitchen was an absolute disaster. It was listed as a usable kitchen with lots of amenities. Upon arrival we found, 2 plates, 1 saucer, no bowls, 2 glasses (that didn't match) no wine glasses. We had to ask for wine glasses and when they arrived it was 1 wine glass, 1 champagne glass both very dirty. All of the cutlery was mismatched, dirty, and not a complete set. Dirty pots and pans were in a cabinet. There were no trash bags, a broken paper towel holder, no supplies to wash or dry dishes. However, there was a sign saying if you left dirty dishes behind they would charge you. There were also no kitchen towels or pot holders. In the bathroom, we found a broken toilet paper holder, broken bathroom mirror , 1/4 roll of toilet paper, no shampoo, conditioner, or soap. There were only three towels so we had to ask for extra towels. We were given towels with large holes that smelled. There was no bathmat, a torn shower curtain with no shower curtain liner. The hairdryer dryer was missing from the wall and when we asked for one an hour later one showed up brand new in the box obviously had just been purchased at the store. The grounds were filthy as well. Trash was everywhere as well as broken appliances stored behind and underneath other cabins. Someone lives at the facility and let their small child scream and yell even pass the quiet hours. We contacted the manager multiple times and when we gave a list of complaints, they didn't respond until before our checkout reminding us to be out on time so they're cleaning crew could access for the next person. We asked for a partial refund due to the fact the amenities listed were not there so we had to go out and purchase them, as well as the fact that we could not use the hot tub and that is the main reason we rented the place. We were told they don't trade refunds for good reviews.

But when we texted her she would immediately text back, so we called her again thinking she would answer. Nope, ignored us again. Now that I'm reading reviews I see this is an ongoing issue with her, seems she has no problem being rude when hiding behind a screen. We vocalized that the cabin was messy upon arrival, Wi-Fi wasn't working we spent an hour setting that up. We had problems with the heater not working during our stay. She insisted that it was clean because she checked personally. If that is your perception of clean than you must live in a pig pen. She was completely dismissive about our concerns. I've read the reviews and whenever there's a bad one she's always defensive. So I'm sure she'll make up a story as to why nothing is her fault, but if this helps deter anyone out there not to book with Holly then I'm happy. Don't get me wrong the cabins location was great, but that's the only nice thing I have to say.
