Our experience was beautiful. The home we rented was grand with a beautiful staircase and views of the lake. The entire home was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We absolutely loved our stay at our cabin. We went for the fishin for 50k tournament and it was nice to be able to have a boat dock available for our use. There's plenty of space for our family and we enjoyed game night down in the game room. We only had one minor mishap which was quickly resolved once I spoke with Big Bear Vacations, we had ants in our kitchen. Once I said something, they had someone come out within the next hour or so to place ant traps. It quickly resolved our issue. Our family has made several day trips to Big Bear Lake over the years, but this was our very first time actually staying in the area, and Big Bear Vacations absolutely did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived, the cabin felt warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully prepared for families. The home itself was beautiful and incredibly well stocked with amenities. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking meals, including cookware, utensils, spices, and little conveniences that made it feel more like a home than a rental. Every space felt intentional and cozy, from the inviting foyer entrance to the comfortable living room, the two bedrooms, and the outdoor patio area. There were so many little spots to relax and enjoy during our stay. Traveling with small children can sometimes make vacations stressful, but this place made things so much easier for us. One of our favorite features was being able to let the kids safely play indoors in the enclosed front room without worrying about mosquitoes or them wandering off. We also loved grilling outside in the back patio area while knowing the kids were secure in the gated space. It gave us peace of mind and allowed us to truly relax as a family. The neighborhood was another huge plus. It was peaceful, quiet, and family-friendly, with very little traffic since the road leads to a dead end. Even though it felt tucked away and serene, we were still just minutes from everything. Shops, restaurants, and the Village were all conveniently nearby (only about a 5-minute drive away) which made exploring Big Bear Village super easy. Inside, the beds were extremely cozy, there were plenty of clean towels, the shower was fully stocked, and the refrigerator had more than enough space for groceries and family meals. The extra touches really made the experience memorable for us (especially the board games and the Pac-Man arcade machine in the living room) which both the kids and adults enjoyed! Overall, this stay exceeded our expectations and truly helped make our family trip special. We would absolutely stay here again and are already looking forward to coming back on our next trip to Big Bear Lake. read more

This is a gorgeous, well appointed cabin. The beds were uber comfortable. The lower, covered deck is my favorite spot to drink coffee (when not in the Jacuzzi)! The cabin where we stayed at was a very convenient location, closer to the lake and the village town. I loved the big back yard and everything inside the cabin was nice and clean. The only thing that I did not like is that the cabin had no essentials, no hand soap, no dish soap, no extra trash bags, no salt and pepper or cooking oil (at least), no hair dryer. These things were listed on the Airbnb app for this cabin and that's why I chose to stay here but they did not have this. What a bummer! read more

We had a wonderful stay here in Big Bear . When we first walked in I was impressed with the cleanliness since that has been an issue for many years in Big Bear. I clean and manage Airbnb so I'm more critical but I have to say I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the home. The house had everything that we needed I would have liked to seen some tin foil and some plastic bags but besides that we had everything we needed. The rental experience was overall nice. However, the home we stayed at Twins Lodge did not have AC, the refrigerator was horrible and we had to keep our food in an ice chest. The coffee machine was broke and even if we were able to make coffee there was no sugar. The thermostat directions were misleading and I had to call/text the office several times. Feeling tired of the L.A. hustle and the S.D. bustle and want to get away? Big Bear is one of those towns where it feels small enough to relax, yet has enough to do where you don't feel like you're going to start a new crafting hobby on vacation because you are dying of boredom. My girlfriend and I decided to take a trip to the mountains as she was mourning the one-year sudden loss of both her parents at Thanksgiving time. We came across Big Bear Vacation rentals on Booking and decided to, as the site says, book. The good: Freddy! This individual seemed to work all hours of the night and was ready to answer any question I had in such a friendly way. As for customer service, Freddy was spot on. The company itself seemed very responsive as a whole. They did text asking if there was anything they could do to make it a 5-star stay, but I didn't respond because truly what was needed was a lower rate for the quality and no pet-fee (as you will see below). As for the rest... (There's a dramatic ellipsis for you so that you know there's something coming). The Location: We enjoyed the location of the cabin. Peaceful and serene and just a quick jaunt to the center of town. Mind you she doesn't drink (forever a DD), so I am not sure if there are rideshares available should you want to get saucy. The Cabin: How do you say... not what we expected? Things in photos look nicer than they truly appear? 'Tis the season to be unimpressed? Because she was mourning, we decided to bring her emotional support pup (a real one with papers) and was informed that he was considered a pet and that he would be $40 a night. Of course, we paid and we paid an additional fee to check out at noon instead of 10am. That is a nice option when they have it available. "Come on! You said the cabin and you are talking about a dog!" The Cabin, Part II: The dog part is important because I do not think we should have been charged a fee for him as the house wasn't in good shape. As you will see in the pictures, the carpet falling apart, the curtains were too small for the windows and because they didn't have ends, the whole thing fell on me when I was trying to close them. The furniture was dirty (also see in the pictures). I would have thought "Well of course, it is a dog friendly place" but for an extra $80, I thought, "What are they charging us for?". The place had a heater and stayed warm, That was nice! It felt like someone had just shoved some things in corners like you were staying at Cousin Eddie's house, not somewhere you spent about $400 a night (also see in pictures). The wifi and password weren't working, but fortunately it had the correct one on the router. Our second night there, the light in the bedroom stopped working. Luckily there was a little lamp we could turn on to see. The master bathroom is a death trap at night as it is narrow and oddly shaped. I am 5'2 and 112 and I felt claustrophobic. Also, the window in the bathroom made me wonder if there are voyeur neighbors, 'cause if so, they got a good show everytime we had to pee. This odd bathroom wasn't displayed true to form in the rental photos. (See my photos) Cleaning: There was a cupcake wrapper left in one of the rooms and a chicken bone on top of the jacuzzi. We ended up not even using the jacuzzi since by the time we got back from town it was 9:30pm and didn't want to risk a $500 fee for going past 10pm. (I know, I know, rule followers). I do know they clean it though because at 11:45am I was cleaning up the kitchen, and a guy scared the carpe diem out of me as he was putting chemicals in it. With no curtain on the kitchen window, thank goodness I was dressed. Interesting morning moment: As we were sipping coffee on the deck our last day, mourning her parents, a woman to the left of the house said hello. She seemed friendly, but then started talking about how there are tweakers in the house (that's meth users for all ya that aren't up on the lingo) and how she's staying out of it, etc. etc. Ah! Nothing says "enjoy your cup of Joe on the morning deck" like a woman ranting about meth heads. All this to say that I love the customer service, but I have serious reservations (see what I did there) about the way the properties are presented versus what you might get. (Hmmm it won't let me post all the photos). read more

We had a great time at Bear Paw Cabin. It had every feature a person could ever want. It was clean, beautifully situated, and comfortable, in a quiet neighborhood. Every safety feature was available from fire extinguishers to carbon monoxide sensors. The outdoor jacuzzi was wonderful. The gas BBQ grill was easy to use. The living room was a comfortable place to wind down with a roaring fireplace and smart TV that you can log into your own streaming services. We had a small issue signing in online, but the customer service rep Ramla was excellent and helped us through the little hiccup. The customer service, this time Freddy, continued to be great, checking in with us by text during our stay. This really was a five-star experience from top to bottom and I highly recommend Big Bear Vacations. read more

We had such a wonderful family getaway with Big Bear Vacations! We didn't know exactly what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised by the quaint charm of Big Bear. The house we stayed in was cabin #1976 which reflected the authentic mountain character of the town, which we really appreciated. The best part was discovering that our backyard looked right out onto Bear Mountain Golf Course. My husband and son went golfing one morning while my grandson and our family cheered them on from the yard--such a special memory! Visiting in September was perfect for us. it's clean & looks nice in photos located close to lake/village & bed wasn't bad but property itself had poor foundation /layout & wasn't functional. Some was fixable... no directions for HVAC, property mgmt want helpful, some very basic kitchen supplies, but not for making a meal, no where to comfortable sit & relax. No outdoor space (just weeds), the dead bolt does not securely lock ( had to double check it after learning it was not properly securing door), dirty unfolded spare linens & the thing that cant be fixed is the tilting floor and steep 9 inch steps to the loft to sleep & if you use toilet at night, there is no railing on side. read more

Unfortunately, this stay was very disappointing. The fireplace was listed as an amenity, and the photos showed it as usable, but upon arrival we found it damaged and not working. One of the main reasons we booked this cabin was for the fireplace, especially given the location and time of year. In addition, the entire place smelled of cigarette smoke. The odor made it very uncomfortable to stay in the cabin. I could barely sleep the first night because of how strong the smell was. We paid $1,165 for two nights, and given these issues, it was not worth the price. I do not recommend this place. If you are considering booking, I strongly suggest confirming all amenities directly with the host beforehand. read more

We checked in at 10:30 PM, and customer service informed us that we had to pay a $50 late check-in fee. Then, upon check-out, we were told that we needed to completely clean up all trash and personally drive it to their office dumpster located several miles away. Orelse they goona charge $25 per trash bag.Honestly, this was both frustrating and disappointing, and I truly wonder who came up with such an unreasonable "great idea." Before leaving, we cleaned all the dishes we used, put the used towels into the washing machine, restored the living room to the way it looked when we arrived, and packed all of our trash into garbage bags and left them by the front door, since there were no trash bins provided anywhere on the property. After we had already left, I received a text message saying that if there was no trash bin available, we were required to transport all trash ourselves to their office disposal area several miles away, otherwise we would be charged $25 per bag. They also stated that this requirement was included in the rental agreement we signed. Fine -- since it was written in the agreement, I won't argue about the charge. However, I honestly think this is an extremely unreasonable policy. Who would ever expect that a rental agreement would require guests to pack up？ After contacting Booking.com for clarification, 1 was informed that there should not have been any $50 late check-in fee at all. Booking.com advised me to ask the property for a receipt for this charge. However, when I requested the receipt, their customer service suddenly stated that they would refund the $50 instead. This situation is honestly very concerning, as it gives the impression that the property may be charging guests improper or unauthorized fees. All these unpleasant and bizarre issues made the entire check-in experience very frustrating and uncomfortable for me. read more

I've used Big Bear Vacations in the past and the are a pleasure to work with. We stayed at Bearadise. The cabin we rented was old and dated, the pictures make it look better than it actually did. The tv was up on the fireplace mantel and not down on a stand like the pictures show. There was a mini pool table in the middle of the living room floor, that was in the way. It doesn't seem like the interior has been painted in 10+ years and the carpet is worn. The shower is great for someone under 5'6", but not if you're taller and the water pressure was very low.
