Miguel & Amber are fantastic! Genuinely good people with a real commitment to their clients and their business. We were a few days away from closing escrow on a house in Big Bear when we started looking for property management companies. Based on the 100% positive yelp reviews and great initial conversation with Miguel, we decided to go with CA Mountain Rentals to help us manage the property. Immediately paid off. The day after we signed paperwork with him (which was also the day we were to transfer the funds and close escrow on the house), Miguel decided he wanted to stop by the new place to check it out (a testament to his thorough nature... we didn't ask him to stop by, he just did). When he did, he noticed something that our realtor, property inspector, and seller/sellers agent all failed to mention or notice... the fact that both the parking spots and a decent portion of the stairs were built on city property, meaning it would not be allowed in the vacation rental program (a big part of the equation for us), and the city could tell us at anytime that we needed to rip the stairs down and move THE MOUNTAIN about 12 feet back, probably a 6 figure, months long project! After confirming this with the city (also coordinated by Miguel), we were able to get our deposit back and walk away. We were roughly an hour from going to the bank to wire the money when Miguel called to let us know. Major bullet dodged. Original real estate agent fired. Enter EXP realty. Working with Miguel & Amber on the real estate purchase side was equally fruitful and easy. They were incredibly responsive & insightful about the local market, introduced us to contractors, and even went by the local Spectrum office for us to help get internet setup when the corporate office was being uncooperative! We just closed escrow on a new (and much nicer) house 60 days later and couldn't be happier. Needless to say, they've gone above and beyond and it's been a pleasure to work with them. We couldn't recommend them highly enough, and look forward to doing business with them for a long time. read more

Months ago we bought our cabin. I reached out to Miguel with multiple questions he was always quick to respond and friendly. We interviewed many companies to manage our short term rental property but none seemed to be as genuine as Miguel and his team were. Miguel cares for his properties as if they were his own for me that was huge. I live hours away and cannot get to an issue of one were to arise. I have always found them efficient, easily contactable and focussed on their clients interests. Their access to reasonably priced tradespeople is also a plus from a homeowners perspective. Their focus on their customer's interests is an important part of property management and I recommend their services to any future homeowners seeking trustworthy property managers who specialize in this area. Absolutely a five star management company!! We arrived at an Airbnb listings and with a mishap on the cleaning schedule it was only one call to Miguel and it was quickly taken care of within 30 minutes somebody was there to handle the situation. This is the best service I have ever had really can't even believe how quickly he reacted to the response time but it has left a huge impression on us and deserves 10STARs!! We will definitely be booking again and you bet we will ask for Miguel for sure, this management company does not mess around - top quality and made us felt so welcomed just like we were family we've made a real friend with Miguel and will book again real soon! Actually Amber if you recall on our phone call, I had said I had a long call with someone from your office about a month before my call with you. On that prior call I was doing research on your company because of the good reviews I saw, your check in, cleaning connections, handy man connections, and your Airbnb coaching for self management because my wife and I were looking to switch to self managing. I had appreciated that call and the info the gentleman gave me. If I was calling six weeks prior to our hopeful switch, researching, then that doesn't sound like someone at all that was just trying to get out of a jam with guests coming in or use you guys "for the time being" as you accused me of Miguel in your email correspondence to me. I was hopeful for long term relationship. Keep in mind I own several vacation rentals and appreciate long term low maintenance relationships. The weirdest thing Miguel, I'm having good civil conversations with Josh from your office to come on with you guys while you are sending me emails saying you don't want to work with me. You thought you knew me but you're a hot head who rushed to judgment. The only reason the timing became close was because you two were getting married when I spoke with Amber and Josh was out for a week. Amber said to call the following week and Josh had to make the decision. I had to keep calling your company the following week until I finally got a hold of Josh on Thursday two days before the guests were coming. As far as my house not having a license, that's not true. Sara made a mistake because I ended up sending the email to her on Thursday the 17th two days before the guests. She missed the email and acknowledged as such the following Tuesday. She acknowledged I was active. But only after you had reported me over that weekend to both her and enforcement agent Porter. You want to talk about being petty!! You reported my house to two different people in the city. Again I've never met you or spoken to you on the phone. But you apparently you knew me and the type of person I am. Do you also know that I give away dozens of free stays per year for the non profit I run? No, you just think I'm some money grubber trying to get out of a jam. See, you don't know people by an email. You get to know them by talking to them, meeting them and building relationship. But you never once took the time to do that with me and instead sent emails and then tried to get me in trouble with the city. I wished I had asked around to other companies before trying to get on with you guys to find out you are a hot headed psycho. That's your rep with other companies. You are nice up front but once someone disagrees with you or crosses you you go after them. I genuinely wanted to work with you guys. Even when you were sending me abrasive emails thinking you knew my motives I was responding with congrats on your wedding. Josh did extend a contract to me, by the way, on Friday the day before but I declined it, not because of him but because of you and your all knowing emails. I'm glad even more now that I didn't because of how you have acted post my decision. Again, owners beware don't work with Miguel! read more

My family enjoyed a white Christmas in this sweet spot near all the fun, play and activities our big family wanted to enjoy in the town near by! Sledding , shopping, ski & snow boarding boarding all near by! This home was comfortable and roomy, we had a large group and we spent a lot of time together inside playing games and connecting by the warmth of the fire, and creating meals together in the open kitchen space. There was a beautiful lit Christmas tree too! Some of the bonuses for us were: Pet friends Washer and dryer Big gated yard Lots of convenient parking The most amazing movie collection I've ever seen in one special place! We will definitely return for more great memories, highly recommend this comfy place read more

We stayed at the "Latitude Adjustment" Cabin for our 4 days vacation. it was so cozy! We came during the lasf week of January which I found to be the best time to go if you want to beat any crowds. The Cabin was in a great location close to supermarkets, restaurants and only 10 mins from the lake and snow tubes sites. Everything was clean and ready for when we arrived and the view was so beautiful! I found the staff to be courteous and professional. I worked primarily with Miguel, the owner of this cabin. His communication skills were on point and he took good care of us. Realize that you're staying in a cabin, not a Marriott on the mountain. I really recommend this Cabin to everyone. Adam read more

I booked a big bear stay through Airbnb and Miguel the manager of CA mountain rentals was extremely rude. We were 12 guests with 4 cars total. Within an hr of getting there Miguel came over to the property and approached me with a very aggressive attitude and made me feel like I was a criminal before I could even see the contract or ask any questions. He then told me I was over occupancy limits. After we were aware that we couldn't pay extra per guest or have day time visitors some family members left the property so we could be with in occupancy limits. He was so upset and wouldn't even answer questions regarding his own contract. We ended up staying because we were with in " occupancy limits " which according to his contract is 8 but then Airbnb host said it was 9. Also, his contract says 4 cars total, but he made me feel like I was not following the contract when I had 4 cars in total. When I pointed out that part in his contract he was livid. Now he's treating me to contact Yelp, Airbnb, and any other platforms to try to defame me and lie so no one will rent to me. Nathan which was my Airbnb host was very nice and appreciated that I took care of his property and followed the rules that big bear has in place. Miguel's goal is to intimidate people with his rude aggressive behavior. He has to be professional and speak to guest in a respectful matter. He's there to answer questions and explain the contract without getting upset. His demeanor makes you feel not welcomed. I loved the property but unfortunately I wouldn't rent again because of Miguel. read more

Miquel from CA Mountain Cabins was incredible!! His attitude and helpfulness made our stay a joy and pleasure. He was super friendly and from the start he made us feel comfortable like we were personal friends of his. We have been hesitant in the past to stay places in Big Bear because we have a nice home and seems like places there are so beat up but this cabin was completely beautiful and all the details were so nice. Everything from the silverware and the dishes and the linens were so tasteful, well thought out and made our stay super amazing. I can't say enough about his fun, friendly personality and how gorgeous the property we stayed at was!! We will definitely be staying there again and only want to go through him from now on to book our stays in Big Bear! read more

He came by and gave us a fair price quote, we had him do the work he personally came and checked it had his crew do a touch up. We have been using Miguel with CA Mountain Rentals to assist our guests with in-person check-ins and for cleaning services after having a horrible experience with another company. Miguel has been nothing short of amazing. He goes way above and beyond for us and helps us with just about anything when we can't be there. He even delivered a new fireplace key to one of our guests who asked for one during their stay. He performs quality control over the cleaning and some guests have even mentioned the quality of cleaning in their review of our rental. We are so happy we finally found Miguel! This review is for guests and property owners. Recently my family and I booked a 2 night get away. After arriving to the place the owner of CA Mountain Rentals showed up to our door claiming we were going against the law. It appears that the city of Big Bear, CA has new rules/policies on how many people can stay in the property which to us was not a problem but the way he approached the situation was the most unprofessional way a business owner can deal with this situation he was aggressive and the tone of voice made you feel really like a criminal. He was not able to explained in detail the contract or answer agreement questions he was so incompetent that instead he threatened with the police. Please guests and property owners don't deal with companies that are being managed by people that are unprofessional, incompetent and mediocre. This company does not have the skills to be in business. read more

We went with Miguel and the CA Mountain Rental group after interviewing a few other companies and trying to get a hold of a few others who ever called us back. When we met Miguel and Amber we knew they were the right choice for us. Very dependable and they know what they're doing, plus keeping their total number of rentals low means we have specialized service and our listing isn't getting lost with the bigger ones. And we had two rentals as soon as we were up! Definitely recommend these guys! read more
