    Slurped it!

I visited my son in Winter Park for a few days and didn't know anything about the area. The guys in the shop were nice enough to point me in a good direction for where to fish and what to throw. Enjoyed the wading in the area! Took a drift boat trip down the Colorado and was a wonderful experience. Zack was excellent and we connected with really nice browns on dry flies and I missed a few on streamers. Shore lunch was great and relaxing! Definitely the real deal!

We had the most amazing day floating the Colorado with Leif. It was my 12 year old son's first float trip and he was so patient and taught him so much. We look forward to returning. We had a blast catching rainbows and browns.

Awesome morning on the Colorado River!

I'm a true beginner. Ephraim was a great guide for me. Hopefully, I spelled his name right. He was patient and explained so many aspects of fly fishing. We worked quite a few spots on the river. I missed a few bites but in the end I caught my very first brown trout!!! I'll be back!!!

We were in town for my son's mountain bike race and I took the opportunity to go on a guided fly fishing trip. Josh Frank was the guide that was assigned to me and he did an excellent job. Josh chose a public section of the Colorado that he thought was a better choice than paying for private access and it turned out to be a great choice. There was just the 2 of us on the water; we saw no one else the whole day! I have dry fly fished previously (self taught) and had no clue how to nymph fish. I was so happy that Josh patiently explained and illustrated to me the proper technique to cast and drift nymphs. It took me a while but eventually with Josh picking the right nymphs and my presentation improving I caught fish! I landed 8 or 9 brown trout and a rainbow. Oh yeah I did get one on a dry fly. Also I missed a few good ones that were bigger than the pic shown (next time). I was having a great time and I wanted to extend my 6 hour trip to 8 and Josh was up for it. Really happy to have had this experience and couldn't ask for a better guide. Highly recommend and ask for Josh to guide you!

We are 3 newbie fly fishermen from out of state. Found out about the big snow melt shortly before coming to Fraser and were concerned about the impact on fishing. We booked a wading trip with Winter Park Flyfisher and our guide was Josh. He was great. He took us to a spot he knew that was calm enough for us to wade in and not too crazy. He was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot. And we caught some fish! All in all a great day!

We have used Winter Park Flyfisher many times throughout the years and have always had an Awesome time. we always request Riley as our guide, he is knowledgeable, patient and extremely authentic. Thanks Riley for a wonderful day Flyfishing!

My friend and I met our guide Josh Frank at 6am in Granby for an early start. He was easy going and super friendly. We caught over 12 fish between the two of us in just a few hrs. Great experience! Worth every penny!

I am a beginner fly fisherman and was looking to tap into the knowledge of a great guide to help me learn more about fishing, fly selection, tying knots, and maybe even catch a fish or two. Josh did not disappoint and he took me to a spot near Sulphur Springs and shared all kinds of tips with me to enhance my own fishing experiences. Josh discussed everything with me including how to read the water, dissecting the river, fly drag, and improving my form through technique. It was everything I was looking for and he was super cool on top of sharing all of his knowledge with me. Do yourself a favor and check these guys out because I caught my first fish today on my own rig, and caught my first beautiful brown trout, and had an overall great time on the water! Thanks so much

Their strength is clearly in their really nice assortment of traditional fishing supplies and gear. In a time of the worst global pandemic in +100 years, these owners were not only NOT wearing masks - including the elderly woman behind the register. Once she saw my driver's license, the FIRST question she asked me was 'Is the City of Austin really defunding the police?' - and did so in a very condescending tone BTW. While she was inputting my information, she then felt compelled to give me grief about me wearing a mask by stating 'Masks are just the latest fashion statement'. I proceeded to explain to her that 'I am actually ONLY wearing this uncomfortable piece of cloth TO PROTECT HER (since my son was recently exposed) - and I am unsure of my own status'. Before the transaction was done, she proceeded to tell me all of her conspiracy theories of how 1.) 'masks are BAD', 2.) 'the virus death rate is not as bad as reported - or 'there would be bodies lining the streets'', 3.) 'COVID-19 is a government conspiracy and government over reach', and 4.) 'the Governor of S. Dakota is the Best Governor in the U.S. The TV blaring Fox News propaganda in the next room explained it all = the whole experience was very off-putting. If you can withstand getting a right-wing extremist-conspiracy-laden sermon from the owner, then you might be OK shopping here. If not, avoid this place - since they can't seem to stick to talking about fishing and leave their politics out of it.

Not only did we catch trout ALL DAY with his guidance, he taught us a lot of techniques and coached us through the mistakes we made. It was the perfect trip for getting started with this hobby. The week of our trip there was a lot of rain that effected some of the fishing locations but Sam was very communicative about finding the best spot for the rainy circumstances. He gave us a few different options of where we could fish and we ultimately went with his recommendation which was fishing the rivers in Silverthorne. We got even more out of it than expected. We are new to fly fishing and had only had a couple hours of instruction prior to this trip. We did have most of our own gear, but I needed waders and boots. They have a very good rental fleet of waders (Simms G3) and boots, so you weren't wearing cheap gear, which was nice. We met up with our guide Ryan first thing in the morning at the shop and decided to fish the Blue just north of Silverthorne and in town. We had a blast with Ryan! We were looking for more of an educational trip, as well as hoping to get on some fish. Ryan was great in explaining how to read the river and present the fly in the best way as well as different knot methods which we didn't know before. He didn't get into super technical casting methods, it was more about getting the fly where you wanted it and then presenting it so hopefully the fish would take it. You could tell Ryan was super passionate about fishing and helping people out. We had a blast. The best part of the day was that my wife caught her first fish ever and now she is really "hooked". I can't thank Ryan and the other shop guys enough for a great day.
