It was like all the reviews here say an amazing experience and we all agree we would do it again--kinda hooked on it however, what we want everyone to know is the professionalism of the people who are your guides. Mid-morning across the river we could see that a family was in trouble. Our guides--Chris and Cam--sprinted across the river to provide assistance. A angler was having a diabetic episode. They sprinted back to grab food supplies, check in with us and then back. There's a lot more to this story, a lot more, but the point we want everyone to know is this: when you are out of reach for the day in a situation that could take a turn for the worst you have to trust your guides. We could not have been in better hands than with the entire staff at Blue Quill.

My wife and I decided somewhat last minute to book a half day guided trip with the Trouts shop out…read moreof Frisco. We are new to fly fishing and had only had a couple hours of instruction prior to this trip. We did have most of our own gear, but I needed waders and boots. They have a very good rental fleet of waders (Simms G3) and boots, so you weren't wearing cheap gear, which was nice. We met up with our guide Ryan first thing in the morning at the shop and decided to fish the Blue just north of Silverthorne and in town. We had a blast with Ryan! We were looking for more of an educational trip, as well as hoping to get on some fish. Ryan was great in explaining how to read the river and present the fly in the best way as well as different knot methods which we didn't know before. He didn't get into super technical casting methods, it was more about getting the fly where you wanted it and then presenting it so hopefully the fish would take it. You could tell Ryan was super passionate about fishing and helping people out. We had a blast. The best part of the day was that my wife caught her first fish ever and now she is really "hooked". **WARNING** Monitor Your Purchas History!!! I give this…read morewarning, but even if your purchase history is not correct, they won't fix it unless you report to their customer service desk with information from their website and stand in front of them. I recently purchased a firearm from the Colorado Springs Scheels. While waiting for the Colorado Democrat's "cool down" period to pass, I decided I would register for a Scheels online account to track my purchases. After creating an account, I noticed it actually had all my purchase history, likely from using the same email for digital receipts on previous purchases. While looking at my purchase history, I noticed the firearm I purchased, but then noticed a second firearm purchased 1 minute later... Yet, I only purchased one firearm. The website shows receipts for all the purchases. The receipt for the firearm I purchased shows "Customer: Default Scheels" in place of my name. Yet the receipt for the firearm I DID NOT PURCHASE shows "Customer: James Parker" and shows it being purchased using two separate cards (a VISA and a MasterCard) - and using my name on the receipt. Additionally, I confirmed they offer a 5% discount for miliary veterans. I showed my veteran ID and then paid the total. Looking at my receipt, the veteran discount was not applied to my purchase... Yet, when I look at "my" other receipt, for the firearm I DID NOT PURCHASE, it shows Scheels applied the veteran discount to this mysterious second firearm sale using my name and account information and then applying a "Tax Exempt" ID number that I have never seen once in my life. I am not sure if who's information they used for the background check, they say I don't need a new background check to purchase another weapon as long as it's within 30 days... If this is malicious, it would make sense this next sale happened one minute later before a legitimate customer came to the counter. I'm not sure who they will be handing this other, paid for, firearm to - I just hope and pray it's not someone with bad intentions. When I called the store and asked to speak to a manager, I was transferred to Kevin. Kevin says this is beyond anything he can handle and that he would require me to return to the store in person to provide them with proof and documentation. After explaining to Kevin that all my documentation is from THEIR website, he still insisted I will have to bring the documentation from their website to their store for them to address in person. I used to think firearms sales transactions require strict record accuracy... until I purchased a firearm at Scheels. But at a minimum, customers should be able to trust that their information is protected and handled appropriately -- especially when it involves firearm transactions. I would highly recommend purchasing your firearms from a ligament firearms dealer before trusting a retail zombie like Scheels for your firearms purchase.
