While I did not have a lot of time to shop all floors or areas, I look forward to returning when I do have more time to shop some great outdoor and active wear brands. My daughter took me here before a nearby Mother's Day dinner so we only had about 15 minutes to shop, but from what I did see, reasonable prices for durable wear clothing and shoes in a fun store environment. **WARNING** Monitor Your Purchas History!!! I give this warning, but even if your purchase history is not correct, they won't fix it unless you report to their customer service desk with information from their website and stand in front of them. I recently purchased a firearm from the Colorado Springs Scheels. While waiting for the Colorado Democrat's "cool down" period to pass, I decided I would register for a Scheels online account to track my purchases. After creating an account, I noticed it actually had all my purchase history, likely from using the same email for digital receipts on previous purchases. While looking at my purchase history, I noticed the firearm I purchased, but then noticed a second firearm purchased 1 minute later... Yet, I only purchased one firearm. The website shows receipts for all the purchases. The receipt for the firearm I purchased shows "Customer: Default Scheels" in place of my name. Yet the receipt for the firearm I DID NOT PURCHASE shows "Customer: James Parker" and shows it being purchased using two separate cards (a VISA and a MasterCard) - and using my name on the receipt. Additionally, I confirmed they offer a 5% discount for miliary veterans. I showed my veteran ID and then paid the total. Looking at my receipt, the veteran discount was not applied to my purchase... Yet, when I look at "my" other receipt, for the firearm I DID NOT PURCHASE, it shows Scheels applied the veteran discount to this mysterious second firearm sale using my name and account information and then applying a "Tax Exempt" ID number that I have never seen once in my life. I am not sure if who's information they used for the background check, they say I don't need a new background check to purchase another weapon as long as it's within 30 days... If this is malicious, it would make sense this next sale happened one minute later before a legitimate customer came to the counter. I'm not sure who they will be handing this other, paid for, firearm to - I just hope and pray it's not someone with bad intentions. When I called the store and asked to speak to a manager, I was transferred to Kevin. Kevin says this is beyond anything he can handle and that he would require me to return to the store in person to provide them with proof and documentation. After explaining to Kevin that all my documentation is from THEIR website, he still insisted I will have to bring the documentation from their website to their store for them to address in person. I used to think firearms sales transactions require strict record accuracy... until I purchased a firearm at Scheels. But at a minimum, customers should be able to trust that their information is protected and handled appropriately -- especially when it involves firearm transactions. I would highly recommend purchasing your firearms from a ligament firearms dealer before trusting a retail zombie like Scheels for your firearms purchase. read more

Disney land for adults! Although this is primarily a sporting goods store, it's as tore that both the wife and I love to shop at! The large Ferris wheel in the middle just adds to the Disney atmosphere. This store is about 60 miles from my house but the sales and availability of merchandise is always so good it's worth the drive and the little bit of gas that I spend. The customer service ice is always fantastic which you don't often see anymore today in any retail store. Can't wait for my next trip! read more

Let me start with my only criticism: If you go in looking for gift ideas, this place is SUPER OVERWHELMING! The place is huge. Ok, now the good stuff... This place is HUGE. It has everything, and it's all done in a classy way. Each department, whether that is golf, guns, fishing, camping - you name it - is teaming with knowledgeable, friendly staff ready to help you navigate the shopping experience. They'll also totally leave you alone to wander about if that's your preference. The prices are decent considering that they tend (from my experience) to carry higher quality goods only. There's no cheap crap here, so don't go thinking it's the Walmart of sporting goods. It's not. They have a candy store, a mini arcade, a two lane mini bowling alley, golf simulator, a big fish tank with arches in it you can walk under, and a Ferris wheel smack dab in the middle. A ride is $1 per person. The bowling is $1 per person for 5 frames. Super fun. If you have never been to a Scheels, it's a unique experience. If this place was a gas station, it'd be a Buc-ees. read more

You've got to visit this place at least once! The holiday decorations and Farris Wheel are always a spectacle. Love the feel of the store and the inventory. Only down side is that pay a 25% premium on most goods compared with Amazon. read more

This was my first time at Scheels and it was like the Disneyland for adults. Great place for a family visit. They have a huge aquarium towards the front and a very unexpected Ferris wheel that has an overview of the entire store for a very very affordable price ($1). This place has something for everyone, a play place for toddlers, an arcade for older kids, a candy store, a furniture store, a cafe if you're hungry, AND EVERYTHING OUTDOORS. This place was overwhelming and I didn't get to cover every square inch but next time I plan to see everything. Highly recommended place for a fun family visit. read more

I tried to order on-line at Scheels through its price match guarantee process and the store personnel refused to honor the promise because the item cost was too low. Went to look for some winter gear and ended up with toys. Great place to take kiddos to entertain them and go shopping at the same time. There's a fun Ferris wheel inside and you can either ride it with a token or paying with your phone. So many things to do and so many things to get. It definitely a playground for everyone. Scheels is a sporting goods store at its core, but it sets itself apart from being just another Dicks or Bass Pro by catering to kids and families. First of, the selection of goods that you would expect is outstanding. They have most popular brands and styles of clothes and sports and outdoor equipment. You can find most anything you're looking. The. There's the entertainment. There is a fairly large Ferris wheel in the middle of this massive store. Not to mention a miniature Seaquarium that kept my kid occupied for almost thirty minutes. There is a restaurant upstairs that sells food and desserts. I have to give the experience a thumbs way up just because my 3 year old loved it. The main problem I have how expensive everything is. I'm not from Colorado so maybe it's just an adjustment but even though Scheels had everything I was looking for, I found better deals either online or at other stores. If I had to compare Scheels to another store, it's Buc-ee's. It's worth it to stop whether you actually buy anything or not. Recommend! read more

It was my first time here and it's a pretty interesting place. The kids didn't ride the Ferris wheel, but it looked fun. They did enjoy the small rubber chickens, but then we found the large rubber chicken and that was really entertaining. Another big hit was the candy shop. Everyone also enjoyed the large taxidermy display upstairs.
