I've been a member for awhile. This location is good. It might not stock everything but the sales people are nice.

The service from the managers was very rude. I actually contacted headquarters. I don't plan to return to this store.

Great staff lots of cool items for hiking and camping. Only drawback are the high prices. Customer service has always been great.

As an east coast resident, words cannot convey how cool this place is. I literally could stop right…read morethere and my review would be over, but Yelp likes whole essays about shtuff. I've been to a lot of places around the globe. More than most people my age could ever hope for, but this place is new to me. In my one visit to this store I rode a Ferris wheel, played bowling, and browsed the largest arsenal of firearms I've ever seen. That alone made my day, but I'm not done yet. This place has more bikes and skateboards than Alpine Ski Shop. Their camping section is larger than Dick's and Cabela's combined. The clothing department is chock full of everything that one would want to pull over their skin. I haven't even mentioned that their prices are average to cheap! Heck, even the employees are kind and helpful! There's literally nothing I can complain about, because I've never experienced anything that compares to Scheels. I literally cried when I walked into this place, because it fulfilled everything my hopes and dreams could possibly muster. I love being critical to mega corporations, and I thought they might have a fascist CEO or something, but that's where it really gets crazy. Scheels is 100% employee owned, meaning DEMOCRACY BABY!!! I barely edited this review, so if you see something weird, I honestly don't care. Moral of the story is that I'm flabbergasted beyond belief.

OMG they have everything. If you need anything sports…read morerelated or not, checkout Scheels. We are visiting from New Mexico and stopped by Scheels. Our son went to one in Pittsburgh and said it was a megastore. He was not kidding. Any sport related product you may need, they have it. Equipment clothes shoes accessories. Everything. They have products at the higher end as well as more midrange. Prices are appropriate. We talked to several staff in different areas and all were extremely helpful. Don't forgot check out the arcade, cafe, candy shop, bowling alley, shooting gallery, aquarium and Farris wheel. It's a family adventure

I was searching for a beginner's mountain bike and had gone to two big box sporting good stores…read morewithout any luck or help. I had looked up local bike shops the day before on Yelp and remembered Criterium had great reviews so I said to myself, "I have no idea what I'm doing. I need help" so I went to Criterium. I'm so happy that I did! I walked into the store, and within one minute, Tom came over to ask if I needed help. I told him what kind of rides I intended on doing and my budget, and he showed me all of the available options for my height/size. He was very thorough and explained the breaks, gears, and features on the bikes. He adjusted the bike before I took it for a test ride, and again before purchase (I also added a kickstand and a water bottle holder). I loved how the service wasn't pushy at all, and he was honest about quality and ride. It was nice having help the entire way through the process. Highly recommend Criterium. Will be back for my husband's bike service as well as future tune ups. Additional note: I took my new bike for a six mile ride when I got home, and it met all of my expectations. I love the aesthetics, and it rides great! Def the nicest bike I've ever owned.

Wish the Service Matched the Sales Experience…read more Update: I'm raising my rating because Criterium's management stepped up and owned the mistake. Ben (GM) personally inspected the bike, identified a missing cassette spacer, and installed it along with additional adjustments at no charge. He also acknowledged an incorrect $30 labor charge, issued store credit, and offered a card refund instead. The original experience after spending nearly $1,000 was disappointing, but I appreciate their explanation and willingness to make it right. How a business handles a mistake matters, and they deserve credit for taking responsibility. My praise for Joel in sales also stands. Original experience, before management's response: For nearly $1,000, I expected a fully tuned bike, not a new collection of sound effects. The bill included a roughly $200 replacement wheel. Expensive? Absolutely. But Criterium had earned my trust through previous work, so I expected to pick up a bike ready to ride. Instead, I got an extremely loose cassette, several gears I couldn't shift into, a strange clanking sound when bouncing the bike, and a chain rubbing against the chain guide. Apparently, some of the gears had become decorative. The bike was riding nicely before the service, but it wasn't rideable when we got it back. Finding that many obvious problems made me question the quality of the entire tune-up and whether all the additional repairs recommended were necessary. It left me with more questions than confidence. We had to make another trip to return it for corrections. I hadn't realized the full-service package would include extra driving and more time at the shop. Joel in sales was the bright spot throughout this experience. He's knowledgeable, extremely helpful, and the reason I bought a Specialized Stumpjumper a few weeks earlier. If the original service experience had matched the sales experience, this would have been a five-star review. Although the initial service fell short, I appreciate Ben taking responsibility and addressing the problems. That response deserves to be part of this review, too.
