Came in on a Friday night, they had live music playing, very cool!. Menu is diverse from appetizers (onion rings, nachos, steak bites, crab spinach dip, quesadillas, chicken tenders) sandwiches (Philly cheesesteaks, club, chicken Parmesan, wraps), entrees (ribs, chicken Parmesan), soups, and salads. We had the chicken Philly sandwich, French onion soup and salad. All of the food was fresh and delicious with a great server who is very helpful, courteous and friendly. Great tasting food, fun ambience.

Mushroom Swiss burger

I had a delicious burger at Winston's Cafe. I ordered a mushroom Swiss burger with onion rings . It was so good, burger was juicy and perfect. Toppings were super fresh. The sauces that came with the meal were amazing. Our server was attentive and nice. It was a surprise to come to a game night. Wednesdays they have music bingo. It was a lot of fun ! And the crowd was great! There was a couple that won a free dessert. Plenty of parking, location is across Greenbrier Mall . It is a cool spot to eat.

I'm not sure why this place has good reviews. We waited a while for our food. I watched it sit at the window ready. When it got to our table it was barely warm. The au jus for my dip was cold. I asked for it to be warmed up twice. The first time they tried to microwave it for 30 seconds and that still wasn't hot. Then they put it in for 2.5min and it was hot. (I could see the microwave) It was a sad waste of money. Service was slow and uninviting. It seems everything is just reheated and it tasted that way too. It was overpriced for reheated/room temp food.

Winston's is a solid pub/ restaurant in Chesapeake. It has been in the same location right next to Ruby Tuesday's for over 30 years, so they have to be doing something right. I have been here about three times so far, and the service has been stellar. From my first visit I felt welcome and when I am in the area, I plan to be a regular. Mike and Codie were my servers. Codie is a gal and if full of personality in a good way. My favorite item so far is the mother of all meatballs. It was so good I wanted to lick the plate. It was hitting just right for me. They have a full bar and craft beer on tap. There are TVs and a juke box. I am told that when the weather gets cooler they will start having live music again.

Seared Tuna. Rare.

Love this local spot for me. I'm about 5 minutes away. I'd been before, but it was during the day. Great place then, not really anything special. This visit however, maybe because I was craving a great burger (theirs is 1/2 pound!) I stopped in. Glad I did. Had a cheese burger, with all the accoutrements; lettuce, tomato, onions, cooked medium rare. I could tell by the meat juices on the plate, that it was cooked perfectly, before I bit into it. I was right. Delicious. I had it with their homemade coleslaw. Excellent!! For an appetizer, I had the seared Tuna bites, cooked rare. This too, was perfect. Their sweet tea and lemonade is also very good. Host/server was very hospitable and accommodating. Not overbearing, but attentive. Even the chef was hospitable, asking if the temperature was correct. "Yes Chef, it was." Decor is basic. Nothing outstanding. Nothing exceptional. I'll definitely be back.

It's Friday night and we wanted something different. I was looking for ideas on Yelp and this place popped up. I then went on Facebook and they have a specials board that they change daily for lunch and dinner, that impressed me that they consistently update. It is a very small "hallway " type restaurant, you seat yourself. We were lucky there were 2 tables available. In addition to the outdoor board specials they also have chalkboard specials. I decided to start with the special soup, polish sausage and potato. It had great flavor and was perfect on this cold night. My husband got hot wings and they came out naked, brought out by another staff member not our server. Our server came and checked on us and noticed they were not quite right and took them back to the kitchen to have them sauced. My husband loved that they were fall off the bone tender with a crispy outer crust. My husband judges restaurants by their Rubens, so that's what he got and he honestly thought they made it in house. It was so tender and had a nice char on the meat. I chose one of the outdoor board specials of the night which was a Greek chicken stuffed with feta and had a spinach, blistered cherry tomato sauce with rice and balsamic vinegar. It was absolutely delicious, the flavors paired really well together. We both had enough to take home for lunch for the next day. Our server was super nice and it seemed like she was the only one working so she was busy but still attentive. We want to go back and try some of their other specials and they make homemade desserts as well. I think you will be pleasantly surprised if you go and give this place a try. Let me know what you think.

Eggplant Parm (off menu special)
Brad B.

This place is a solid "meh" for me. While my son raved about the crabcake burger, it's pretty hard to screw that up. I had the off-menu special eggplant parmigiana. Having spent 5 years living Italy, I jump at opportunities to jump on a menu item such as this, to bring me back to Italy. I was dead wrong, very salty, couldn't even taste the eggplant, the cheeses were over powering and not very high quality. Sadly, it was a disappointment for me. Nonetheless, the service was pleasant and checked in frequently. With that, it puts them at a solid 3+ stars in my book. Winston's is worth a look, perhaps stick to the on-menu items if you try it. The place just seems like more of a pub/sports/dive bar than a restaurant or cafe. Not my scene usually...

a plate of meat and a bowl of sauce

I hate to rate this place a four, I really do. But this place hasn't changed in all these years. I worked here many moons ago. Pretty sure I saw a few familiar faces for the short amount of time I spent in there. The atmosphere is drab really. Dingy almost. Doesn't stop it from being a cool place to hang out sometimes. If it's your scene or your local watering hole. The food is hit or miss. Always has been. This time the steak bites were okay the wings were dry, the spring rolls weren't great, but the nachos were awful. And they're so hard to mess up. I'm sure I'll be back. I always get around to it every few years. But it'll be a while. I did want to add that our server was great! Can't bash the employees there! They're always top notch!

Really good food :) met the owner and her was really nice also! The crab and spinach dip was a rocket

I've visited this place a few times over the past couple of years, and unfortunately every visit…read morehas had some kind of issue. I kept giving it another chance, hoping things would improve, but that hasn't been the case. There have been multiple instances where orders were completely wrong. One time, a friend ordered scrambled eggs with cheese and they came out without cheese. She politely asked for it to be fixed, but when it came back, it was still wrong. When she brought it up again, the waitress told her the chef said it was correct, which was frustrating since it very obviously wasn't. After going back and forth, they finally brought out eggs that actually had cheese in them. This was incredibly frustrating because while we waited for our friend to get her food, our own food went cold because we didn't want to eat without her. Having them make her eggs multiple times Tuuk time. On another visit, I ordered pancakes and something was clearly off. It wasn't just that they didn't taste good, it tasted like something used had gone bad. I couldn't tell if it was the batter itself or maybe something like the butter on top, but either way it was enough to make me question the quality of the ingredients being used. The waitress asked if I wanted new pancakes, which I found kind of funny because it was like she completely expected me to finish eating them and that I was just giving her feedback. The last time I went was with my family, and the service was extremely slow. We waited about 10 minutes just to have someone take our drink order, and another 10 minutes to actually get the drinks. After that, we waited again for someone to come back and take our food order, but no one returned. After nearly 30 minutes of just sitting there with drinks and no order taken, we decided to leave. My husband left cash on the table for the sodas and we walked out. The restaurant was completely empty and there was no reason for it to have taken so long. If you've been there, you know that it is a very open dining area which means we could see all of the weight staff just standing around and chatting. if it had been very busy and taken time to get our food or drink drinks we absolutely would have understood because we know the wait staff can only do so much at once. I know this place seems popular, but after multiple visits with CONSTANT issues, it feels like more than just bad luck. The food quality has been very inconsistent, and most of the staff I've interacted with seemed inexperienced and not particularly friendly. Despite having been in there at least seven times I have never once left there without something being wrong or having terrible service.

It is now 2:45PM over an hour later and we are still waiting with no updates from staff. I completely understand that lunch rushes happen, but communication is basic customer service. If the kitchen is running this far behind, customers deserve to be told upfront so they can make an informed decision. I was waiting in the car with my toddler, who fell asleep around 1:30 PM while we were still waiting. Sitting in a parking lot for over an hour with no communication is unacceptable. If you value your time, I would not recommend ordering to-go from here. Respect for customers' time clearly isn't a priority. Updated Finally received our food at 3:45 to only be left more disappointed by the portion sizes. Only received one piece of fish for a dinner, yams are not homemade and Mac and cheese was dry. They offered a free drink at 2:40 pm which doesn't nearly compensate for time. They continued to take orders by phone and in person and couldn't handle demand. At a point when your kitchen is over 2 hours behind, you need to push out the orders you already have and turn people away. I would much rather have been turned away and to try them on a different day with a coupon.

Jennifer was our waitress and her service was absolutely spectacular. I was celebrating with my sister and ordered the closest thing to steak and eggs... which just happed to be the Steak & Hash.! I asked for the potatoes to be super crispy, eggs scrambled soft and a medium rare steak. Jennifer advised that I cannot order the steak to the temp of my choosing because, this dish does not come with a whole steak. This dish comes with cut up steak pieces. She requested for them to be cooked light. This dish also doesn't come with eggs. I ordered it on the side. Overall this dish was very pleasing to the eye but my darn potatoes were COLD... I was breaking all the rules and ordered carbs after my intense workout just to be heavily disappointed with cold taters lol... the fish looks amazing but this goes to show you that looks can be deceiving. The eggs were cooked to perfection.. not just anyone can scramble eggs soft. So the kitchen does get a point or two for that. The steak pieces are very small and thin my sliced.. not much flavor but at least they weren't chewy. Overall I did not eat my dish. I just packed up the entire plate and enjoyed two glasses of champagne with grapefruit juice. My guest ordered a dish called the chicken chimichangas or chickichangas. I believe and she devoured it!!! I didn't get a picked but it looked like a chicken omelet with hollandaise on top and some fresh fruit! Overall I am eating this place a 3 only because my service was excellent, the restaurant was clean and had ample parking.. the bathroom was clean and I just happened to be in great company. Side note. They do not sell regular size bottles of champagne. Here. You can order champagne or mimosa and they sell small individual bottles of Barefoot Prosecco I believe.

I'm not entirely sure what the "33" stands for--maybe the number of minutes I spent in a silent trance while eating it? Whatever it is, it was incredible. The real kicker, though? The service. It legitimately rivals Chick-fil-A. It was very loud inside and you practically had to scream to be heard. Lots of stereotypically texan-styled decor and music. Service wasn't bad. My table was a little wobbly and squeaky. The food was actually really good. The ribs were pretty tender and easy to eat. The steak was cooked as I requested and was good as well. I always heard about the famous "TXRH Rolls!" and was curious to see if they lived up to the hype and I have to admit... they did! Soft and sweet, with a maple butter spread if you want it. Drink sizes are decent as I only had one refill and considering the amount of meat, potatoes, and bread I had to eat?, It was pretty satisfactory. It may not have seemed like it at first, but it was really quite filling as by the time I had finished, my usually over-sized appetite was satiated as I was actually too full for dessert.. a scenario no one would believe. Prices were pretty high, but not too different from other similar chains. And let's be honest: EVERYTHING these days is expensive! Sad but true. My favorite things were the rolls (they actually are that good!), the onions that smothered my steak (just the way I like them and there were plenty to enjoy!) and.. the Tropical Breeze Mocktail! I love a good blue drink and being a teetotaler, it was much appreciated to see non-alcoholic options for the fun and colorful beverages! In my opinion, it tasted like a beautiful air freshener and I loved every drop of it! (I even ate the fruit in the glass!) Final thoughts: After 9pm is the time to go if you want to avoid large crowds and they could get comfier booths, just saying.
