The bath towels are plush and blue, rather than the usual institutional white. The bedspreads have georgeous patterns and the mattresses are comfortable. There are no motel cleaner and perfume smells. One can bring the car right up to the front door, making unloading and loading a breeze. On the downside: Our cabin was small, not a lot of space to move around. There was some traffic noise from highway 395 which abated overnight. The place had a friendly vibe of cyclists, hikers, and outdoorsy folks. We will be back!

The AC absolutely cranks, which was heaven after being out in the heat all day. The owners have added so many thoughtful touches: toothbrushes, single-use toothpaste, makeup remover wipes, bath gels, plus a mini fridge and microwave in the room. When I checked in, I was greeted with bottled water, fruit, and cookies, such a kind welcome after a long day. There are also cute patios with hanging lights where you can sit and eat takeout, and there's even a homemade ice cream shop right next door with a really vibey outdoor patio. One of the owners mentioned a nearby trail just behind the motel, and I'm so glad I listened. I ended up walking through the beautiful Mary DeDecker native plant garden alongside a babbling creek with little bridges and an incredible sunset view over the mountain ridge. It turned into one of the highlights of my trip. This place may not look like much from the outside, but it has heart, kindness, and everything you actually need for a peaceful stay.

First issue, they are renovating the first floor for which I have no issue. The problem? You need to post that online BEFORE folks make reservations. I have mobility issues and there is no elevator. I had to drag my heavy luggage up narrow stairs...very painful. Second issue, problems with their key cards...lots of trouble getting into my room with the digital key cards. Very frustrating. Third issue: their pool is closed in the middle of the hot summer. Post that online BEFORE folks visit and book on your website! Even if it's only temporarily closed. Fourth issue, the water was turned off for over 2 hours during the middle of the day for maintenance. Very inconvenient! Lone Pine is a beautiful little town with charming restaurants but not sure if I can recommend this hotel based on my most recent experience.

The majority of me staying that long had everything to do with the staff at the hotel, no joke !! So if you're ever in the area and you're looking for accommodations, I would highly recommend staying at the Quality Inn in Lone Pine. I made some very dear friends there and will be traveling back every year for my quiet time after spending weeks time at our family home in Tahoe. Wild flowers in abundance & the bridge for White Chief up while the other crossings (Sawtooth, Franklin) need long legs or waterproof boots. Wild life is finally on the rebound after the NPS disastrous fires (poor management). It's our own little Switzerland. You won't be disappointed!

We ordered: - Hashbrown combo, comes with 3 eggs, toast and a choice of meat, we ordered the bacon. They were the yummy fat strips.... so good! ($10.00) - 1 pancake (it's enough to feed a party of 4) Mr. Texas was not joking about the pancakes! It was huge!! So if you are starving, go order a pancake, you won't be hungry for a month lol. They also have free wifi, it's a bit slow, but it's better than nothing! Really pretty spot to eat a meal, there's a waterfall nearby. It's at the start of the Whitney Trail, so if you get off that trail early enough, this is a great spot to grab a hot meal!

REVIEW FOR SHOWERS ONLY - rest of place looks good…read more Two of us took showers. In mine, there was no place to put clothes except 2 tiny, small shaky hooks on door and wall. No floor mat; no bench (a must); no place to put towel; no place to put clean clothes; no place to put anything; floor all wet after shower (bare feet on god-knows-what). Shower aimed at open curtain so HAD to get into shower lest everything got sprayed before temperature was adjusted. After shower, ZERO ventilation so worse than a sauna - instant sweat. Also, HIGHEST price of all options along Hwy 395. Other person said her shower was awful - water never mixed/adjusted. It was either all hot or all cold water. BAD plumbing. Outside the showers, in mixed-gender area, plenty of room after shower. But zero privacy so had to undress/dress in tiny shower cubicle (about 2x3ft space). MUCH BETTER SHOWER at Mammoth - "Camp High Sierra" ... very pleasant and spacious BUT have to drive almost 2 hours just to get there.
