My Macbook Pro was liquid damage and I went to apple store (the one in Toronto Eaton Centre) and they told me that I need to replace the logic board and the cost was close to $1100. Then I found some place on yelp and request a quote and after reviewing their websites and reviews found out that WinMac should be good, and now I am happy that I chose them cause they fixed my problem at no time and the guy there was very friendly and professional. He offered me free diagnostics and they called me within 30 minutes with the problem and the price. I agreed and they fixed it. I can not believe that I got my MAcbook back fully working same day which at apple store it took them 5 days and not fixed. the guy not even gave me estimate he also fixed it same day and that is why I am leaving my review here. I took my MacBook Pro into apple after spilling coffee and killed the back light. Apple quoted $500 ~ $600 for the repair. Went to another mac repair store and assessed, the technician told me that the "LED controller" is broken and needed replacement. Total cost would be around $390 ~ $450. I found WinMac in Toronto and called them, i brought in the laptop for assessment. The final cost of the repair quoted was a mere fraction of what apple and the other repair store would have charged me and the repair is covered with warranty. The level of communication prior to and during the repair was outstanding. The technician is honest and told me what the real problem was. It's a no-brainer, if you're in the downtown area and need your Macbook or windows Laptop fixed, you should go here. My Macbook Pro would not turn on, even with a charger, and I was adamant on getting the battery replaced. I decided to take my Macbook to this shop, and because of their free diagnostic service, they told me that my battery wasn't functioning right. Anyway they solved my problem much faster and at a far more reasonable price than compared to Apple. Their customer service could not be better, and the next time my computer breaks, I'll know of just the right place to take it to. Hands down, the best experience I have ever had with a tech repair business. They were incredibly empathetic and helpful when my Macbook Air's flash drive gave out. They found the exact, original part I needed (I have an older model) and hardly charged me for labour. I brought my Macbook in at 11:30 AM and had it back by 6:30 PM without an appointment. He is awesome! My Macbook broke down several years ago and he did an overhaul of my computer, changed the motherboard and upgrade the system. When the motherboard broke down two years later, he got me a cheaper and good quality motherboard. He is my go to guy when I have issue with my Macbook. Excellent service, quick, really friendly and helpful. Gave me a free diagnostic, discovered where my problem was and fixed it, and offered me several options (including telling me how I could fix it myself if I wanted to). When I asked if I needed to upgrade my RAM as well, the guy told me I didn't need to, and showed me by opening a dozen apps at once, rather than sell me an upgrade I didn't really need. these guys are fantastic! Brought my Macbook in because I couldn't get the screw out holding in the hard drive without stripping it. They immediately were so helpful, began to take it out on the spot, then helped me install my new hard drive since I had it with me as well. And all of this was free. So nice of them. I first went to the Apple Store, then 1 other mac repair shop and got quotes over $1000 for board replacement and battery replacement. I decided to try one last spot before giving up my MacBook to the graveyard lol. I had my LCD screen broken on my 3 year old macbook pro. Apple wanted $860 for a replacement, which is outrageous. Talked to the team at Winmac and they were extremely knowledgeable (this coming from someone who is in R&D in electrical engineering). Great, quick and honest service at a reasonable price. I brought it in on a Thursday and by Monday they had completed the repair of my logic board.
