I went into this restaurant with my baby & my significant other the manager was totally being racist I seen everybody else walking around without a mask & she just kept approaching me & my son she was being rude she got in my face & acted like she was gonna fight me omg I never experienced anything like this ! I've been here many times, and the food has been good every time, although it is a bit pricy. Their wings were decent, but not great. However, their burgers and other sandwiches are very good. I recommend the Bo-Man's Honey Club, it tastes amazing and fills me up. Their pizza is also really good. Definitely a good place to eat for a medium price range. I usually spend ~$15 for a meal. The indoor seating is pretty dark. The outdoor patio is really nice, especially during the summer, as long as the weather is good. It sits atop a hill, so there is a nice view from the patio. Warning: this is a tavern, so they will not let you in past 5pm if you are under 21, unless you are children with your parents. I was unaware of this, and my friends and I (ranging from the ages of 19-21) went to go to dinner here, and were disappointed to find out they would not serve us because some of us were not 21, even though we were just going to eat burgers, and not to drink. I should have known, since it is a tavern, but it was still upsetting. So beware, if you are going with your friends and are underage, you have to come in before 5 pm. read more

This is the first time I have visited since they moved to the new location. I did miss not having a party room -- we had used it for a graduation party a few years back and had a great time. We had a large group. Service was great. If you are a beer fan, this is the place for you. Multiple selections on tap and in bottles from around the world. Menu is OK. Their pfries are good if you like loaded fries. They have a large variety of wing sauces. Burgers and chicken sandwiches are pretty standard. They have some entrees as well and you don't have to get fries for sides if you want something different. Overall, a good choice for a night out. read more

I absolutely love this Winking Lizard! My coworkers and I come here frequently after work, and I am always excited to try new things! The roasted veggie wrap and the soft pretzels are my favorite, and are definitely filling! The servers are excellent and awesome to talk to. What a horrible experience. Went to watch the Syracuse football game and asked about having the sound on. Hostess asks her manager and replies saying they won't be able to put the sound on because the OSU game was on currently. I asked if I could get my games sound turned on once the OSU game ended which started a few hours earlier. Manager said we are not turning the sound on. The cowboy burger is good. Enjoyed it a few times. My cohorts claim the wings aren't spicy/hot enough, but who is to say. I found them very hot. Had at least one odd experience here, where the waitress claimed to have worked there for years, but couldn't tell us what was on tap at the bar. This is a place with a Beer Club Membership and hundreds of beers. Poor girl couldn't name a single beer on tap. Regardless, this is one of the few places in Independence, OH we've found that has New Holland Dragon's Milk beer. I recommend this place almost exclusively for that reason. read more

I have written many reviews, 99% all positive, but there are times that things are so bad that I am compelled to pass along the experience. We literally just left this place with a party of 6. Let me start with stating that the server "Shannon" is the only highlight of the experience. The beer selection is great, food mediocre bar food, but what warrants the (1) star, would give 0 if an option, was the ridiculously rude manager. We had one in our party that came late from a walk and had a sealed bottle of water with him. There is of course the usual sign "no outside food & beverages", but to make a scene and forbid entrance to one because he had a bottle of water in his pocket was ridiculous especially since we bought food and beverages and this person didn't even open his water. The most disturbing was the pleasure that the owner appeared to take in being rude. The good selection of beer can in no way compensate for a very poor manager attitude. I would never set foot in this place again and highly recommend others avoid as well. There are too many other great places near that appreciate the customers that keep them in business. read more

Been to the different lizards many times. Went last night got the Lent special Fish Tacos. Not because I observe Lent but I really like fish tacos. Theirs were decent. You got three very decent sized tacos, and fries. They have great fries. The one thing that I don't like about the lizard is they are always packed. The food is okay, it's your standard bar food. Had the pulled pork with fries. The service, I would give, two stars. We were attended to at the bar by two barmaids neither of which was friendly or pleasant. I've been to this location before, either seated indoors or outdoor patio so this is my first experience sitting at the bar. In the future if I am at this Winking Lizard I'll try my luck at a table and avoid the less than congenial barmaids. read more
