It is now by appointments only. Waiting time has be greatly improved. Dr Lee does most of the procedures herself unlike other places where there are other specialists like anesthesiologist and assistant nurses. This can reduce the cost on your part. A major change to the practice is that all colonoscopies and endoscopies are now done at an uptown facility. Insurance copays can be higher for this setting than procedures done at the doctors office but Dr Lee can refer you to another specialist who performs office endoscopies. Dr Lee spends the time to fully exam you, update medical history and explain results/tests to be done. The practice presently uses the Chinatown P.C. Portal app for web appts and communications. This is the second time I've seen her and the practice has greatly improved.

The nurse there took my blood pressure and asked very personal questions regarding my health conditions in the waiting room in front of other patients and people waiting for patients ( I'm sure that violates some kind of HIPPA laws ) and to top it all off they only accept cash and don't do their job to check with your insurance if your deductible is met before starting any treatment. I'm out $530 and they still expect me to pay $150 every time I go in to finish my IV treatment ( have 3 more to go ) despite confirming with my insurance that my deductible is met. This office is unbelievably money hungry which is no surprise every medical office is a business at the end of the day but it seems like every single person that works there ( nurses and medical assistants included ) lack bed side manner and empathy and are just there for a paycheck. I refuse to ever step foot in there ever again unless it's for my refund from when my deductible was met.

She is always so professional, approachable and patient. I was never rushed. She is very knowledgeable and uses simple Laymans term to explain the condition. The only downside is the wait! It is common to wait for three hours, with or without appointments. She only accepts appointment on workdays, no appointments accepted on Sunday. She is closed every Thursday and Saturday. During weekdays, you can still wait 2 to 3 hours even with an appointment. Walk-in are slotted between appointments. As a result, even you have an appointment, you are never seen on time. We went on a Sunday 8:50 am when office opens at 10 am. We were the second one on line outside the office. By 9:20 am there were 7 people. By 10:00 am there were 17 people. Dr Fung takes 10-15 min each patient. Go figure. For the receptionist Karen, she is stressed due to great amount of work. She is reasonable if you ask her politely. She has been working there for many years now. She is knowledgeable about her job.

When I shared this with Chun Kit Chan while I was still in terrible pain, he told me it was "all in my head" and recommended that I only need Tylenol. The next day, I ended up in the ER needing emergency gallbladder removal. The ER doctor said this should have been addressed much earlier. After surgery, when I could barely walk, I needed a referral for a GI specialist. His staff member, Susan, insisted I come into the office even though my insurance confirmed it wasn't required. The doctor even said it was "not a big deal" to lose a gallbladder. Two months later, I was hospitalized again due to leftover gallstones. The hospital told me they contacted Chun Kit's office for a referral, but his staff claimed I hadn't been seen in over a year, which was completely untrue. In my experience, this doctor delayed my care, dismissed my symptoms, and contributed to unnecessary complications.

Her contact information came out when I did the specialist search through my health insurance provider and I was able to make an appointment to see her very quickly for my first visit. She was affiliated with NYU, so she was able to pull up all my medical records with NYU through her system. She reviewed my medical records with me to ensure she had a complete pictures of my medical situation. She also checked and tested all my joints very carefully to identity any potential issues. She then decided to prescribe a medication to me to treat my condition and she clearly explained all the possible side effects of the medication. Instead of just sending me a prescription, she explained to me why she chose this particular medication over the other alternative options. She also provided me information about the co-pay assistance program that was available to this specific medication to reduce my out-of-pocket cost. Lastly, she wanted me to do x-ray imaging on certain areas of my body and blood work. She was nice enough to call me to discuss the blood work result and imaging result a few days after the lab.
