I would give zero stars if I could. For over a year, this doctor dismissed my weekly severe pain as "normal heartburn." While in Taiwan, another doctor immediately suspected gallstones. When I shared this with Chun Kit Chan while I was still in terrible pain, he told me it was "all in my head" and recommended that I only need Tylenol. The next day, I ended up in the ER needing emergency gallbladder removal. The ER doctor said this should have been addressed much earlier. After surgery, when I could barely walk, I needed a referral for a GI specialist. His staff member, Susan, insisted I come into the office even though my insurance confirmed it wasn't required. The doctor even said it was "not a big deal" to lose a gallbladder. Two months later, I was hospitalized again due to leftover gallstones. The hospital told me they contacted Chun Kit's office for a referral, but his staff claimed I hadn't been seen in over a year, which was completely untrue. In my experience, this doctor delayed my care, dismissed my symptoms, and contributed to unnecessary complications. read more

Annual physical here today, my 3rd here, no change to years past: fast efficient signin, short wait (6mins), professional medical banter, and overall perfect experiences. Most patients here are in and out within 15mins due to their rather simple issues of with a cough, cold, or bruise/ache. Clientele leans older not younger but no matter. The front office staff of 3 long-time pro admins are superb always billing correctly and efficiently handling any question from insurance details (incredibly omplex stuff) to payments to scheduling all. The efficiency and speed of everything here with respectful professionalism and Dr. Chan's affable personable self make me return year on year. Hopefully, I won't have to return in between physicals. read more

I recently changed primary care provider to Dr Chin-Kit Chan after my long term primary health care provider retired. I've been here twice, once for the initial appointment and once for the results today. He's a popular doctor so in the waiting room there were chairs occupied with patients in masks at 6 feet apart while the overflow was other masked patients waiting at a distance from each other outside in the hallway was the scene when I first visited on a busy Saturday morning. A receptionist first takes your temperature and later asks you the necessary Covid questions. The receptionists are super helpful, articulate young adults, very organized, very professional, welcoming and polite. What can I san about Dr Chun-Kit Chan? He's like an updated modern version of the personable family doctor I remember as a child in Ireland. He really listens, he's very empathetic. He takes his time to carefully walk through all concerns and questions. He is quite thorough, no-stone-left-unturned kind of focus on details. I feel lucky to have found him. The follow up visit to go over my lab test results was just as thorough. A great experience and a great doctor. read more

I would highly recommend Chun Kit Chan MD as a general primary physician. He is very knowledgeable (18 years of experience), caring, ethical, and patiently listens to concerns. There are sufficient staffs in the office that are extremely courteous, friendly and helpful. Dr. Chan has a personal assistant that will type up all patient to doctor conversations into a laptop. Another cool thing was I could get my heart reading in house. That's pretty high tech! The reading was administered by the same female assistant. For a regular checkup, Dr. Chan offered to draw blood from the office or go directly to a blood center. That was a kind gesture and personal approach with patients. During my recent checkup, I recalled a conversation from previous visit that was 6 months ago and he was able to relate and reiterated my concerns. How cool is that! I know I am not his only patient, so for that reason alone I would give Dr Chan a 5 star rating! Dr Chan is the best! read more

I was looking for a General Physician near my neighborhood and fortunately I found Dr. Chan. He is located in Chinatown and if anyone is familiar with Chinatown doctors, it is next to impossible to get an appointment. I was able to secure one a week later at a time that was convenient for me. Typically even with an appointment, you would expect to wait half an hour to an hour, but much to my surprise I only waited 10 minutes to be seen. I was there at the later part of the day and suspect I may be the last of his patients, but nonetheless Dr. Chan was very methodical in his process of evaluating my health. He took his time to go through everything and made suggestions which I valued. He did an EKG to insure my heart was in good order and recommended me to get bloodwork done in a nerby facility. A week later, Dr. Chan called me and told me everything checked out and no major concerns needed to be addressed at the moment. Typically, many doctors would prefer that I go in and wait half an hour to tell me the exact thing and Dr. Chan realize that we all have busy lives and providing my positive diagnosis over the phone was a very nice touch. read more

Let me sum up my review first: Dr. Chan is very thorough, takes the time needed, and I would highly recommend him as your primary care doctor. I haven't been to a doctor in about 10 years, and recently got insurance again and wanted to go in for a 'check up.' So I found him on my insurer's website and read the few reviews here before making the appointment. I will agree with the other reviewers on their positive ratings. He also has Saturday appointments which is great. I was sent into the patient's room very shortly after my scheduled appointment time. Dr. Chan basically interviewed me, asking questions about my body and medical history going from head to toe. At no point did I feel rushed like I have felt with other doctors I have dealt with in my past; he takes the time to be thorough. He referred me to some specialists for some things he does not specialize in, which I appreciate. What I REALLY appreciate is that he wants to try to get to the root of the problem, and is not quick to write a prescription, unlike other doctors I have seen in the past. As part of my check-up, he recommended I get a blood and urinalysis done at a specialty Lab. This Lab was efficient, and I was in and out there quickly. After the results came back I made another appointment, and again, I only had a wait a few minutes after my scheduled appointment to see Dr. Chan. We went over each item from the results practically line by line, and he recommended what changes I needed to make in my lifestyle to address the problem areas. Is he my go-to Doctor now? Yes he is!
