I met Dr Pedre many years ago when one of my doctors recommended that my son, who was misdiagnosed by a dermatologist, see Dr Pedre. My son was impressed, and suggested I see him too. I found him unique in so many wonderful ways-from his extensive medical knowledge to knowing his patients completely-beyond tests and bloodwork. He thinks out of the box for solutions. She really is a PCP in that she manages my care and all of my providers. My favorite part about this group is their email portal!!! I can email my Dr at whatever time and she usually responds ... quickly. If I need a refill, etc... they just do it after receiving an email. It's next level. He is charismatic, pleasant, knowledgeable, obviously has a lot of experience under his belt, helpful, practical, and on the same wave length agreeing with me that the less medication, the better. But as soon as I had something of a serious nature for the first time in my life, he for some reason is not able to accept my complaints as valid. And he breaks one of the rules of doctoring which is to believe the patient's complaints! He has actually for the past seven months been denying that what I describe as my symptoms are happening! This is the logical extension of his sunny disposition. I remember now that he has often been that way. I once told him that after wearing a heart monitor for 13 days, the result was first degree heart block. He said, "Oh, that's nothing!" My stepdaughter told him he had a spot on her lung of 0.5 centimeter. He said, "Oh, that's nothing!" And I remember how in past years, I always leave his office feeling better than when I came. But the day came seven months when I presented with a serious condition, and he has persisted and persisted since in saying, "Oh, that's nothing. It's all in your mind." (He has actually told me that the main thing wrong with me is my mind. I learned that that is called "gaslighting.") And I know that isn't true, and I know he is wrong. And if this same thing happens to you, you should be apprised that that is the day you must make a decision--whether to continue to put yourself in danger or to part ways.

After my doc left, I was referred to her, but her bedside manner left many things to be desired. In both my visits she dismissed a few of my medical issues and made out of the box suggestions which were fringe even for a DO. Her misunderstanding of modern western medicine and choice to believe studies not accepted in mainstream medicine, are both concerning and upsetting. When I discussed a suggestion she made to me with another physician, they were shocked, and confirmed that I was in fact right. If you want a hippy-dippy, not qualified DO, she's the one for you, otherwise run far, far from her.

He begins every appointment with a consultation at a desk and then the treatment is in a different room. This strikes me as a workflow filled with care. I had ample time to ask questions and he answered them honestly. He was happy to use the phrase "I don't know" when he didn't, a phrase which some doctors don't seem to have in their lexicon. His prices are extremely reasonable. He was in network for me, but the potential out of pocket costs are accessible. Tisch Hospital charges $4,000 for a rabies shot out of pocket. He charges $400. It's rare to go to a doctor without any worry of ruinous costs. He and his staff have what I would describe as New York attitudes, by which I mean they are honest, to the point, and don't BS you. If you require an extra calming doctor who will tuck you in to bed and kiss your forehead -- I completely appreciate if you do want that -- this is probably not the doctor for you. If you don't need a forehead kiss but just want cost-conscious, informed treatment, he's your guy.
