No idea who is running the desk at Dr. Dolinsky's office but it's been infuriating getting my old records.

I was a patient for 9 years until I move away about 10 years ago. I still tell people about the great doctor I had in NYC.

Dolinsky for almost 10 years, I started going to him when he had his practice in UES, then followed him to NYU.

His office was the only office to discover my mother's Thyroid cancer by doing those tests you say are unnecessary. NO ONE else found my mother cancers and he caught it early my mother was treated with iodine pill and survived. As for me Dr Kaplowitz found things with me that a lot of other Dr didn't find and due to him finally finding what was wrong I got the proper treatmwnt. I have been misdiagnosed for so many years until I got to him. He discovered I have chrons when I was been treating for Fibromyalgia which I don't have. My heart conditim he found were I was being told it was anxiety. Those unnecessary tests those other patients wrote about let's see when cancer pops up and when other Doctors will find it. It will be too late. I put my life in the hands of Dr Kaplowitz anytime.

Out of sheer inertia, I had been with Dr. Chavez for years until finally becoming fed up and…read moreswitching to a much more dedicated and focused physician. Dr. Chavez is disorganized, spacey, long-winded to the point of being confusing and lately I think borders on the unethical. Long standing problems have also included the interminable wait times at any clinic where Dr. Chavez works. I am talking two hour-plus waits before you get called in. The staff openly complain about him and apologize to the patients, it's all due to the way he repeats himself, forgets basic information, misplaces files, etc... I think this might be part of the reason he has been changing clinics so much. But the latest event that just really broke my heart was having a front row seat and watching the way Dr. Chavez just dumped patients. About two months ago I was waiting to see him (another two hour wait) and saw patient after patient show up for scheduled appointments only to be informed that Dr. Chavez was no longer taking their insurance starting on THAT day. One elderly guy explained that he had been seeing Dr. Chavez for twenty years and was there for a follow up visit because he was in the middle of treatment that Dr. Chavez prescribed for an infection. Could he be seen one last time? No. Would Dr. Chavez come out and explain what he should do next? No. Dude was weeping. It really chilled my blood. I saw three patients turned away that day and each was totally surprised; no one had called them. I was so gobsmacked that I went home and googled recommended protocols for when clinics change which insurance they take. Turns out clinics are suppose to offer notice, referrals and still accommodate patients who are in mid-treatment for something. Dr. Chavez did none of that. Cold hearted, if you ask me. Even though I wasn't affected, I just couldn't see myself going back to Dr. Chavez. His long standing disorganization now seems cruel to me. When I found a new PCP I asked her what her clinic does in these situations and she said they give THREE MONTH notice, give referrals to patients and set up a transition plan for them. When I told her how Dr. Chavez had handled the change she raised her eyebrows and said, No comment.

I am a manager for another hospital outpatient organization, I found this highly unprofessional and inconvenient. The Doctors secretary should be checking these errors as this was not a last minute appointment. This appointment was on the schedule for 2 weeks. Dr.Chavez's secretary was not empathetic or interpersonal at all and only offered me for the next day at 12:00pm. I suggest this office speak of having more attention to detail as patients schedule their days according to appointments. I was very upset to have wasted my time and travel. Accommodating me would have been continuing the visit with a physician assistant but this was not an option upon request. I do not recommend this place, front desk were the best part of the office.

Wilson who worked as the front desk receptionist was always pleasant and accompanying when it came to scheduling appointments and retrieving test results. Also notable was Cheri, who helped out up front as well for the care of patients in the back. That all being said, the overall office's professionalism and utmost care of patients has drastically changed for the worse with the new additional staff that was brought in. I was unknowingly assigned to Dr Pulcheri. She seemed professional at first but had many issues from prescriptions not being filled correctly when requested, to months of unavailability to see me and falsifying medical records from teladoc calls. I tried my best to accommodate her derelict of job duties but to no success. I even tried to get the new receptionist Natalie, who was hired after Wilson, to help facilitate my health needs. At first it seemed like she could handle the fast paced and demanding position of answering phones. but that was short lived. She quickly became unprofessional and contentious on the phone. She would over talk me, cut me off in mid speech and wouldn't relay my messages to Dr Pulcheri. This went on for the past year. I had to ultimately make the hard decision to leave the East Medical Practice. No ill will towards Dr Lusky or others at the practice not mentioned in my review. I just can't continue arguing with an unsuited receptionist and a doctor who seems more concerned about her travel plans and personal obligations ( as she would tell me when I visited ) than of her patients, leaving them with no medical care or alternative support.

The moment I opened the door I had a gut feeling something wasn't right. When I walked back to the room I was immediately instructed by the physician assistant to get undressed and put on a gown which was very odd to me. Usually when it's your first appointment establishing primary care you aren't asked to get undressed so I was a bit caught off guard and decided to wait to undressed until after talking with the doctor and going over what we would be doing at todays appointment that required me to get undressed. When Dr. Lyon came in (before introducing herself) she asked me in the rudest voice "why aren't you undressed?" And I said "I had a few questions before getting undressed" and she said "you could have still gotten undressed!" - I was so taken back as to why it was such an issue that I didn't get undressed immediately. She proceeded to ask me questions then abruptly interrupted me and said "you're not wearing a mask, let me get you one", she returned with a mask and I told her I didn't want to wear it (mind you the assistants in the office weren't wearing one, just her) and she told me "I had to wear it" I then responded with telling her I haven't had to wear a mask at a drs office in over a year, she proceeded to tell me to put it on. Given this woman's attitude I knew I couldn't trust her, so I told her we could end the appointment and I will go elsewhere. She immediately followed up with "okay! But you still owe me $50 for the appointment." When I was checking out I overheard the physician assistant say to the doctor "Dr. Lyon you were supposed to be better this year." So clearly this isn't the first time someone has left their appointments 10 minutes in. I'm honestly shocked by the amount of good reviews I see on Google. Her Yelp reviews are far more accurate, in which I'll note another girl had the same horrible experience with Dr. Lyon getting mad at her for not undressing right away. If I could give zero stars I would.
