This restaurant began in Garland, Texas in 1994, and has grown very rapidly, bucking the trend of fast food spots over the last few years, becoming a bit of a food media darling! I've tried their Fried Chicken Sandwich ( small filet, middle of the pack overall), but not the wings. Today I ordered the classic wings, both the Original Hot and the Lemon Pepper dry rubbed - a 6 piece mix & match combo for $12.69, it comes with their famous, well seasoned FF and a large drink. I also got a side of Cajun Corn medallions. I got both the Blue Cheese and the Ranch sauces. The FF are rather unique for a fast food spot - freshly hand cut, with a bit of skin left on, sprinkled with a seasoning mix that gives the fries sweet, salty, and savory aspects. While these fries are very popular, I'm not a fan of the seasoning, don't care for the sweet flavor on fries. Without that sweetness, these would be very, very good fries in both taste and texture - as it is, I would pass on a combo on any future visits, or swap out the fries for celery or such. The corn medallions are sliced directly from the cob, deep fried, and then sprinkled with Cajun seasoning. The corn was tasty and in medallion form, easy to deal with, but a touch greasy. The medallion were easily handled with one hand, a convenient touch. Now let's talk about the wings. The wings served here are touted as never frozen , and are cooked to order. The cooked to order claim is simply not always the case - at heavy traffic times, full baskets are cooked in anticipation of orders to be received - just how broad is the "cooked to order" window? Since around 90% of Wingstop restaurants are franchised operations, I would guess there can be significant differences in the breadth of that window. As to the never frozen, this approach brings up logistical issues for the individual restaurants - dependable suppliers capable of frequent deliveries, determining proper delivery sizes - would locations be tempted to freeze chicken to reduce loss? Would cooked wings be "carried over" to the next day? Like always, get to know your restaurant if you expect you will visit more than just occasionally! As is my habit when visiting a restaurant, I arrived shortly after the posted opening time - here it is 10:30. As was the case at the other location ( and a good number of other restaurant spots), they weren't really ready to conduct, still prepping, organizing, turning on the fryers, checking their cell phone, getting ready for their day in the world of fast food service! Took just under 25 minutes to get my order, not exactly fast food speed. The Original Hot wings were very nice with the sauce providing the right amount of heat to complement the plumb, well cooked chicken. The texture was also excellent with the tender meat pulling cleanly off the bone. The wings were nicely sauced with a bit of residue at the bottom for more dipping, but not so much as to make the wings soggy in any way! The Lemon Pepper wings were much the same, though I found them as touch bland. The Blue Cheese was good, but not great. I thought the ranch was the stronger of the two! Would I come back for these wing - only if a convenient drive by. There are a number of spots locally that topped these wings, with comparable pricing and better service - Starting with Ronni's, Waldo's, Sixty-Six, and even Longhorn, for dry rub. And other very good choices include Pizza Hut (Yes, Pizza Hut), Chili's, East Coast Wings, Buffalo Wild Wings, Applebees, and of course Zaxby's! Long review, but for a reason - this chain is getting a lot of media attention - sometimes this works, sometimes it don't - we'll see, I think there are storms on the horizon, with the service aspect the most troubling! read more

A must try! There are no Wing Stops where I'm from so when I came across it on Yelp I figured I'd give it a shot and I'm glad I did. When I walked inside to pick up my order I was the only customer at that moment. The woman behind the counter immediately greeted me and asked if I had placed an online order with my name. I confirmed and she said she was finishing up making it at that very moment. She was very polite and welcoming. I got 15 boneless wings, lemon pepper and Louisiana dry rub as well as French fries well done with a Cajun seasoning. The chicken far exceeded my expectations. It was extremely juicy, full of flavor and crunchy!! The lemon pepper did not seem like it was lazily seasoned and tasted like they actually used real lemons to make it. The Louisiana rub seemed like it was just your classic Cajun seasoning but it was still good! As good as the chicken was, the fries did not match in quality. I opted to have them well done because I love any and all crispy foods (who doesn't?) But I was wrong in thinking that would make them extra crispy. They were super soggy, had zero crisp to them, and were basically just mush. The woman working hooked me up though. She made sure I had extra ranch, ketchup packets, napkins and silverware. She even threw in a brownie for me! I want so badly to be able to give them 5 stars based off our interaction and her level of customer service, but the fries were too bad for me to be able to give 5 stars. I will definitely be back! I came here on 12/17/20 at lunch time. I ordered online with my co worker and we picked it up. Staff were friendly and wearing a mask. Masks are required. Their dining room area is not open at this time. They do have hand sanitizer by the register. You are allowed to get your own beverage from the drink machine. My wings were nice and crispy. I got garlic Parmesan (dry rub) and lemon pepper (dry rub). I like the lemon pepper better, however. I got celery at my side instead of fries. I got a cheese sauce to dip and it was good. The 8 wing lunch combo was like $10. It wasn't bad at all and came with a drink. I will definitely be back. They have 60 cent wings on Monday and Tuesdays, per their website. I must say Wingstop has a perfect location. It is conveniently located in the plaza of where I grocery shop. It came on my radar about a year ago. I had always had intentions to stop, but for some reason or another, I could not stop because of some perishable items within my groceries. Recently had the time to give it a try. Well, I could've waited another year. Very small portions very overpriced and not worth the value. Very rudimentary spices and flavors utilized. It absolutely reeks of corporate intervention with regards to flavor, size of portions and overall bland service. The overall morale of its employees was very uninviting. I was very disappointed about my experience with wing stop. I was very excited and happy when I found out they started carrying thighs. I had been waiting for weeks to try them. For some reason the wing stop on windover always seems like it lacks structure. I went in there and ordered my thighs and waited about 25 minutes. When I finally got them they were so dry I only ate one of each flavor and threw the other ones in the garbage. I never knew thighs could be dry until I visited wingstop. These thighs were disgusting and a waste of money. I don't know if it's the location itself or the company all together but I had ordered their bone in wings and they weren't good. I've been searching for the best Wings in Winston and who knew I'd find them at a chain such as Wingstop?! They're not stingy with the seasoning and sauces like some places around here. Their ranch is just heavenly. Fries are so good with a sweet and savory seasoning. And the wings omg!!! Prices are also reasonable. You get a 10 pc wing, fries and drink for about 13. I paid 13.89 for just ten pieces at east coast last week. The only negative is that is soooooo far across town for me but I'll gladly make the drive. WOW !! I Love this place. It has to be the BEST Place to get wings in the Winstonsalem area. When it first opened I was going there at least twice a week to eat. They have many different Types of Rubs to choose from. And if you like Them HOT , They have them. You can taste each flavor if you like. They have seasoned Fries also. I also love their Sweet Tea. Brand new Wingstop here in Winston Salem. Staff was super friendly and attentive, restaurant was very clean and food was good! I had the 8 piece combo with veggies. Wings were pretty good and flavorful, and the veggies were crisp. You can tell they are working out some of those "brand new restaurant" kind of issues but they were busy and hopping so that's a good sign for their future! My favorite place for lemon pepper wings, arguably their most popular flavor. I've been eating Wingstop since I was a senior in high school so I was happy to find that Winston has one. It's super easy to order online. I prefer traditional wings but they also have boneless or mixed options. They also have an option for all flats or all drums for $1 more. For sides I usually get celery, fries, or their new Cajun fried corn. Once you place your order it takes about 25 minutes to be ready for pickup. Plenty of parking spaces. This is only my 4th time ever eating at a Wingstop location and per usual, I was extremely satisfied! Not only was the food fresh, hot, and it came out in a timely manner, but Qwandania, the young lady at the register was amazing! She offered suggestions on flavors (one in which we tried and I'm now hooked) and while there wasn't any customers in line, she made her way around the restaurant greeting, and conversing with customers. Gave this place two tries in order to form an honest review. Not impressed. The service was okay both times. However, the "hot" flavor is barely mild and the "atomic" will burn your tastebuds. Need to find a better middle ground for just regular hot wings. The fries were soggy, actually stopped somewhere else fries the second visit. Have to be willing to give up an hour of your day or be aggravating to get your food. I have tried every method of ordering and every time I have had to wait an hour when I got there. They will overlook you if you don't say something to them about your order. They have people walking around doing nothing and the tv being in there is the worst thing because those employees are always locked into whatever is on. My delivery was missing the chicken. 2 boxes of rolls and fries were delivered that should have been 1 box of rolls, tenders and fries. Honest mistake, someone bagged the wrong box. I tried to call the restaurant and was on hold for over 20 minutes. I stayed on hold and drove to the restaurant. 15 minute drive and at this point 35 minutes in and still on hold. I informed an employee my delivery was missing the chicken and I have been trying to call them. The employee got an attitude and said they haven't had a phone for 3 months! This while I'm still on their hold message saying they will be with me shortly. I told them I just need to get the missing tenders. The employee refused to get them for me. I showed him a picture of what I received. Still with an attitude he said I would have to drive home and bring back the extra rolls I received first. Assistant Manager heard his attitude and stepped in and said they would remake the order. I was fine with that. I just wanted the food I paid to have delivered. He was making it and the whole time the employee was talking about me. I told the assistant manager it has now been 2 hours since I ordered the food, paid for delivery, paid for tip, I don't deserve to be talked about by the employee while I'm waiting . I just want a refund. He would not refund me. A Manager (that was nice but had only worked there a week and didn't know how to use the register) then tried to refund me and the assistant manager physically would not let her. He said he would just refund for the tenders but would subtract the price of the rolls (that I did not even order) from the amount he gives me. He would not even refund for the delivery fee for the food I did not receive. The assistant manager said he cannot stop the employee from talking about me, because this isn't a dictatorship. I ended up leaving without food or money. $33 and still no tenders. Horrible customer service! Any other restaurant would have refunded the money, provided the food that I paid for, and told the employee to go to the back until it was handled. read more
