Unlike other wing joints, Wing Stop doesn't have a built-out menu with burgers, nachos or quesadillas. And that's not necessarily a bad thing, unless of course, you're a person who gets wings as a side to something else. The other thing to note is that if you typically get 'naked' wings or grilled chicken sandwiches at places like this to eat a little more healthfully, there's no such option at Wing Stop. That's fine by me, but the wife asked the cashier "Do you have anything that's not deep-fried?" Hahaha. She got a blank stare. So if you go into this as a wing-lover and knowing that the only things on the menu are boneless wings or classic wings to which you can add a combo of fries and a drink, then you're good to go. OK, sure, they also have baked beans and potato salad and I think maybe chicken tenders or a breaded chicken sandwich. That's it though. I was a little shocked they didn't have a burger or pizza or nachos or a few other little items to add some variety to the menu. So if you're going to go all-out and stake your name and menu on nothing but specializing in wings, they'd better be good, right? How are the wings? Well, I had four different flavors of the classic wings, and I can tell you that they make pretty good wings here. They have a good range of rubs vs. sauces and of mild vs. spicy options. I saw a previous reviewer mention that they didn't have the sauces and hotness scale listed on the menu, but they do now, so must've just been something they were still putting together when they first opened. My favorite (and historically my favorite sauce at other wing places) was the mango habañero. The original hot buffalo sauce was pretty good too. I didn't try the atomic, but I will next time because the MH was supposed to be #2 in hotness and it wasn't that spicy (maybe a 7/10). The other wings I tried were rubs, which I personally am not a fan of and just thought they were OK -- but again, not a rub guy. The wings are perfectly crispy but not overdone. They're not super big and meaty, but for the price they're just right. Compared to pizza places and other restaurants, the wings are a great value. They clock in at 75 cents a wing, whereas somewhere like Papa Johns charges a full $1 per wing for what are typically smaller wings. I'd give these wings an A-, and say they're probably #2 on my favorite wings list right now, behind the big, meaty, saucy A+ Vesuvius wings at Vocelli Pizza. Oh, and the fries were pretty good too -- sort of like Wendy's. Now, the food is good, but the venue itself needs some work. It's just got that dark, musty, sticky sports bar look and feel -- except it's not a bar, there's no tap, which will be a total oversight on their part to some people. There's really no service to speak of -- you order, they call your name, and you do everything yourself. I will say that all the reviewers who talked about how slow they are may have been right because they had just opened recently, but they seem to have worked that out. It was pretty busy, but we still got our food quickly. Probably the thing that rubbed me the wrong way the most was that they don't have napkins or wet naps. TOTAL oversight as a wing place! But to make it even worse, they put a bathroom-grade brown paper towel roll up by the condiments and you have to roll and rip as much as you think you'll need for your table. Now just think about how flawed this is at a wing place -- you just finish gnawing on some wings, you've got sauce all over your fingers, and you start licking all up in there to get that sauciness off and then you realize you now need a napkin but you didn't roll off enough it seems. So you gotta take your wet, licked, sticky fingers up there and touch the same roll everyone else is going to need to touch in order to get more paper towels. SOME DISGUSTING POTENTIAL THERE! At the end of it all, my recommendation is to order the wings for pickup and eat them elsewhere, or if you don't feel like going out order Vocelli's wings because Wing Stop doesn't deliver. read more

This Wingstop really exceeds my expectations! The team there is extremely nice and always gives me the best customer service. Was in this past Sunday and witnessed an exchange - ok not exchange - customer yelling at the girl behind the counter - who happened to be keeping her cool very well. First off, Wingstop is pretty much the only wing place to customize your order - well done, burnt, sauce on the side. So, if that is not your thing, don't bother coming in. This woman was SCREAMING at the girl behind the counter, which, in my book is totally uncalled for. These are essential workers who are risking their lives to provide food to us people who don't want to cook. Thank you for your service! Do you think yelling at someone is going to make them want to help you? NO! I also saw some people get upset by the fact that the people in the kitchen were not wearing masks. If you have actually read Gov. Northam's Executive Order 63 and 67, it says employees who are customer facing need to wear masks - not everyone working in a restaurant. Oh, and for those who get freaked out because they aren't wearing gloves, there is NO mention of gloves in either Executive Order. Gloves are a false sense of security. I would much prefer watching the cashier and the person handing me my food wash their hands before and after. There has not been a case of COVID being transferred by food, so get over it. All restaurants have hand sanitizer stations near the door these days, so if you are afraid of germs, clean your hands and credit card there. Bottom line, I appreciate the essential workers who are out there every day risking their lives to give me food when I don't want to cook. There is no instance in my mind that warrants screaming at someone, even if your order is wrong. I wanted to order classic wings over the phone / internet so my wife could quickly pick them up while on her way home. You cannot order over the Internet without showing the same credit card (with matching name) when you pick them up. We've got the same card number but different names, so that option was shot. When I called in the order, I was told she'd need to pay with her card upon arrival. How frustrating. While I knew the order wouldn't include celery, we were both really surprised that dressing isn't included. Who does that? At home, we found the dressing to be pretty watery. As for the wings, my wife could tell just by the smell wafting through the car that the oil was old. They have really interesting flavors like Old Bay, Louisiana Rub, Hawaiian, etc. I had the Old Bay & the Original Buffalo and it was pretty tough deciding which one was better. They're made to order, so you have to wait about 8-10 minutes, but sooo worth the wait! Perfectly cooked until crispy & juicy with various dipping sauces. The blue cheese had huge chunks unlike many runny & subpar ones that's generally the norm these days. Heard a lot of great things about Wing Stop from friends, so decided to give it a go in its opening week. I can see the potential here, and I'm really rooting for this place to become a great hangout spot. There's ample parking right off of 7, and the inside is that sports-bar-y type of feel. They may need to get more seating somehow, but there's enough for customers at the moment. Order up at the counter, and wait for your order to be called out. I like how they will give you an estimate of how long your order will take to come out. For the menu, I'd recommend just looking at the right side for the a la carte stuff - the wings by themselves. Sure you can go for combos, but you don't have to. In fact, at first I was thrown off by the price because I was like "HOW much for an order of ten wings ???". I eventually figured it out, so no big deal. I opted to go for the bites instead of classic wings, because I wanted to compare them to the Buffalo Wing Factory eats. I got 15 wings split between two flavors, so that was pretty cool. Sad to say, I do prefer the BWF ones because the sauce was just not enough on the WS bites. Sooooo happy this has been added in this area! Wing stop was my favorite wing places in college and this location is just as good! The Wings are fresh, on point, and I think the prices are excellent! The inside of this location is nice enough if you would like to stay and have an informal dinner ---they have screens with sports channels on. You can purchase beer at this location as well and I think the prices started at 2.50. The baked beans are excellent and the yeast rolls are good too!!! The staff is very nice and helpful as we'll! I was pretty excited to see a Wing Stop opened in Sterling. Hoped for a better alternative to Hooters, BW3 or Glory Days. Based on the first go round Glory Days is still the king. Ordered for carryout at the counter, the meal for two with the wings being split between mild and garlic parmesan. Pricing seemed reasonable at $15.99. The wings themselves were good, decent sized and cooked well. However, the mild sauce had no flavor. I look for a little zing from mild wings. None to be found here. The garlic parm appeared to be sprinkled with parmesan cheese like my man Chef Boyardee sells at the grocery store. Interesting but not overly appetizing. Overall, nothing to complain about but nothing I would drop everything for either. On the plus side, they have a Coca Cola free style machine which is awesome. read more

After this visit I would definitely pick buffalo wing factory or glory days over this for wings but our meal wasn't bad. When we arrived the place was pretty much dead and we picked up our call in order with ease. Was a little upset the food was luke warm because it's not like they were busy. The wings weren't great but they weren't bad. Same with the fries, lacked crispiness and i'm not sure how i felt about the slight sweetness in them. For less than $45 we received 40 wings, family sized side (potato salad - delicious), three dipping sauces, and carrots/celery. I visited this place at around 1pm on Saturday 1/29/14 I was really looking forward to trying this place. The primary reason is that tey specialize in wings. Nothing else. ideally, classice wings should be cooked properly. Meaning, all the way through with a crispy skin. I picked one up and immediately my heart sank. The skin was very rubbery, soft feeling. And no it's not because of the moisture from the steam. That and this are two completely different textures. The sauce and meat itself were very bland. The meat itself was pretty tough. Based on my observations, I can only conclude that the oil was no where near hot enough for frying. it not like they were busy either consistencly frying wings. the oil should have been hot enough. As for the sauce, Thats my fault, I didn't realize that could have asked to try the sauce before ordering. I probably would have liked the Atomic better. I frequent this wing stop from time to time, let me start off by saying save your money, the food is not good & neither is the service. I came in to get a combo, I asked for Hot & Lemon Pepper wings, they make an excuse that if they are busy they cannot mix flavors but if they are not then they will. My money is consistent but I have to compromise on what I really want because they don't FEEL like it, because it takes 5 minutes to wash out the bowl they will have to use for my flavor. I took the food home didn't eat it, the next day I realized I am tired of wasting my money where they don't respect their customers and serve disgusting food. Wings were not well done as they should've been, the fries were undercooked, the roll was DRY and they keep giving me this excuse to why they can't make my food as I please. They also did not have on gloves, the cashier gave me my cup with his bare hands that he has touched peoples cards and cash with. So the next day I take what I could out the trash and brought it to get my money back, the owner's daughter says she can only give me half of my money because I only brought half of the food. I was not leaving without ALL of it because I am tired of them being lazy with my food & doing things when they feel like it when they should do what I ask not just sometimes, but every time.
