This Wingstop location in Oakbrook Terrace (Roosevelt Rd) is honestly just mid. Nothing fancy, nothing unique -- if you're craving Wingstop, you're probably better off visiting another location, especially if you have dietary restrictions like Halal. As someone who eats Halal, I appreciate that they offer it here, but it's only available for bone-in wings. You can place your order online, but then you have to call them separately to let them know it needs to be Halal -- which feels pretty inefficient. They do take the extra time to keep it clean and prep it properly, which I respect, but it usually takes an extra 20 minutes or more, so plan ahead if you're going that route. The wings themselves are solid -- nothing bad, just not outstanding. I will say the Mango Habanero is definitely a favorite -- great flavor with a nice kick. The other flavors are just okay, but if you're not big on spice, I'd recommend asking for extra ranch or blue cheese to cool it down. That really helps. This is hands-down the worst Wingstop experience I've ever had. I placed an order directly on Wingstop's own website, waited over an hour, and my food never arrived. When I called, the store casually told me the DoorDash driver "just never picked it up". To avoid serving my kids cold food, I drove to the store myself only to be told they would not give me my own order because DoorDash had to "release it," even though Wingstop took my payment. The order had been sitting there for over an hour, and the staff refused to remake it. Their attitude was basically: "Not our problem". DoorDash then told me the opposite that it was the store's responsibility because the order was placed through Wingstop's site. When I tried to cancel, Wingstop blamed DoorDash for the refund, and DoorDash immediately said they couldn't refund something they didn't charge. It was like watching two companies argue over who didn't want to help me. After almost ten minutes of back-and-forth nonsense, the store finally agreed to issue the refund. In the end, my kids and I got no food, I wasted an hour and a half, and the staff acted like they couldn't care less. I went out of my way to visit this wingstop because I heard they sell halal chicken wings. The store itself is difficult to access as the lanes to get in only allow to to come from one side so it's a mess on a very big and busy street I was told on arrival that the wings that were halal were the classic bone in. I got a combo meal with 2 flavors fries and an extra side. The chicken itself was very poor quality, I've not experience something like this before where it actually has the feeling of plastic and you can't hardly break it down when you chew. The sauces were not good. One was very salty the other really had no taste, the fries were good and had the peel still on them along with seasoning and they were very fresh. There is a 10 cent/wing charge when you purchase halal wings they do not tell you this upfront and I found that deceptive. The ranch sauce was not very amazing, I had heard such great things but it lacked flavor the time I got it. Overall the chicken was poor quality and quite underwhelming, fries were great but corn was too salty and drink was very watered down. We ordered the $16.99 meal deal which was 20 boneless wings with 4 flavors and a large fry. For our boneless wings, we went with the lemon pepper, garlic parmesan, Louisiana dry rub, and mild. All of the flavors were great! If we had to choose a favorite, it would be the garlic parmesan. We normally get bone in, but we really enjoyed the boneless wings. The wings had a tasty breading on them and were decent size. The fries were super tasty and I like their seasoning on it. My husband wasn't a fan and said the seasoning was too sweet. You can also order them without seasoning. Their service was prompt and food satisfied us. We would recommend this Wing Stop. read more

But according to the cashier it was "IMPOSSIBLE" to get all flats (they had the option for it online). Horrible customer service and mediocre wings for way too much money. I spoke with someone named Ahmad on the phone and ordered 2 large combos (10 pieces each combo) halal. I was trying to ask him questions about the combo but he was quick to cut me off. I assumed that maybe he's super busy and wasn't able to answer the phone correctly so I just went there and hoped for the best. The combo comes with 2 flavors + 1 dip + fries or veggies with a 20oz drink. Therefore if you order two combos the presumption is - as stated per their menu - that I would receive 4 flavors 2 20oz drinks, 2 orders of fries or veggies, and 20 wings (or 2 large combos). However when I went there Mr. Ahmad told me I would only receive 20 wings with a selection of 3 flavors. This did not make any sense! When I asked him about it at the store he told me that I am misunderstanding the clear language posted on his menu. I initially wanted to laugh at this comment but I held it in and politely asked him if it would be possible for him to explain that menu because his explanation of three flavors total for 2 large combos did not match up with the advertised 2 flavors per large combo on the menu. Mr. Ahmad then got upset at me for wanting an explanation. He said he would be voiding the order he put in and got upset at the fact that a receipt was being printed. He took his receipt and attempted to throw it at my buddy and specifically said, "you are wasting all of my paper." It shocked my conscious that someone would be so rude. I still can't believe he tried throwing a voided receipt at our face. He refused to explain the menu to me and rather stated you can have it or walk out. I chose to walk out and leave him this review. I hope he takes the time out to understand that customer service is very important. While I was not confused about the plain language stated on his menu, in the alternative, even if I were confused about his menu he should take the time out to explain it to make my day and continue our business relationship. I only came here to help another halal restaurant out despite their wings and sauces being mediocre at best but I don't think I will come back here for this exact reason. I have posted a photo to show you what their menu says. Don't let Ahmad lie to you and do not pay for something that is not par with what everyone else is getting. We thought it was going to be a pleasant meal but little did we know ... when we opened it smelled like a 50 year old locker room and had hair on our food. After tasting our food it was extremely oily and smelt very bad. After tasting disgusting wings we tried to wash our mouths out with a drink. I ordered a fruit punch and the lady thought she was a Turkish trick ice cream cart server and was moving the cup around to try and play with me. Sometimes, the fries are salty, greasy and cold. The staffs are friendly and helpful. My friends and I always come in 20-25 minutes before closing, but they do not seem to mind. I'll start by saying the food was delicious...when I finally got it! Placed an online order, it said it would take 16-21 minutes to be ready. Got there at the 18 minute mark, checked in the manager looked for my order and clearly found the ticket for it hanging in back waiting to be made. At some point one of the cooks went to the restroom, when he was done, he stopped by a table and started talking to some customers that he seemed to be friends with, he was also casually cleaning the tables, which was good because it looked like a dumpster in there. Meanwhile cook number 2 headed to the restroom. The manager then calls the name of someone who walked in 10 minutes after me and ordered at the counter, he got his food and left. At this point I am 40 minutes since my order was placed. I went to the counter and asked the manager when my food would be ready. He asked my name again, found my order ticket still hanging there to be made, went to the dining area and yelled something at cook number 1 who was still chatting with his friends. He then ran to the kitchen and quickly made my order. It was over 45 minutes from when I ordered and nearly 30 minutes from when I walked in.
