"When the food is fresh, oh man" Stopped in the Newark location for some late night grub. The wait time was a bit on the long side (about 20 minutes) but that's how you know things are made to order & fresh. we'll worth the wait. When the food is fresh, oh man theirs no topping it. I thought the fries had a weird sweet seasoning that I couldn't quite put my finger on nor could I necessarily get with, but this place is called "Wingstop" not "Fry-Stop" I ordered 2 orders of classic wings one garlic parmesan and the other lemon pepper. This place has great potential. There's parking on premises. You can order online. Delivery with Doordash available. Most importantly good wings. Unfortunately the customer service/staffing brings this place down. Ordered in advance and was given a pick up time for 50-63 minutes. Arrived after an hour and food wasn't ready. Waited another 20 mins upon arrival. Didn't see an item on the receipt that was ordered. It was questioned and staff stated even if the order was wrong it would be an extremely long wait to correct the mess up. Walk-in customers were being turned away. Each customer was told they weren't taking walk-ins due to a 90 mins wait, short staffing, shift change and Super Bowl Sunday. Needlessly to say, the thighs weren't cooked through. I'd recommend only wings. Also, try the wings with the Louisiana dry rub. I wish I could remember the girls name but she was extra rude. She stated she was the manager. I did an order via door dash and paid for a roll, the driver got there and they wouldn't give her the roll because it didn't show up on their end despite me being charged for it now the right thing to is look at the receipt that shows 79 cents was collected and give me a roll to me it's not worth loosing a customer. To make a long story short they had to make the process difficult I called up the girl was very rude and advised I would have to call door dash to refund me the 79cents for the roll and at some point hung up on me I called back advised I'm on my way (I never wanted a refund I wanted the roll I paid for) I got there again the same girl was very rude till someone else stepped in, I advised this is way to much for just a 79cents roll I'd like to get my roll and that I'd leave after. they eventually gave me the roll but I haven't met someone that rude in a while I couldn't believe she hung up the phone on a customer it be your own black people it's such a shame I will never order anything from there again!! My suggestion to management please train your staff on how to deal with upset customers, orders get messed up mistakes happen, errors happen but it's how you handle the issue. I don't really understand how this wing stop plans to stay open the way that it's being run. I called around 10:20 to double check how late they stayed open and they informed me that they stopped taking orders at 10:50 and the restaurant closes at 11. I spotted this gem one day leaving school and driving down Rt 21. I stopped in this week to grab some wings. I got a boneless 8 piece meal, 4 classic hot and 4 mild, with parmesan fries. The mild wings i probably would not get again, they were very mild indeed. The classic hot were just the right temperature for me though and i really enjoyed them. Nice white meat inside with a crispy outside. The resturant was very clean and the wait for my wings was about 10-15 minutes which makes me think they cook them to order, which is how it should always be done. I lived in Dallas in the 90's when very first Wing Stop was opened. Owner ran it at the time and was always packed- line out the door. Here it is 20 years later and amazed (but not surprised) he was able to franchise this place and now one is right here in NJ! But would it be the same?? Mango Habanero are fire, as in heat! The first bite is amazing and then your mouth starts burning. Either way, you fight through it because you remember how good the first bite was. Garlic Parm is nothing special and the Lemon Pepper at times tastes like you just ingested a spray of Lysol. Service is slow. An order of about 10 wings can easily take about 20-30 minutes. What I enjoy the most is the ability to divide an order of 8, 10 or 20 wings into different flavors. Open late, Wingstop naturally is busy even at 11pm. read more
