If you want GOOD wings, this is the place for you! I had the bbq wings and they were amazing... the first 4 or 5 I had just how they come but the next 10 I ate I had them with the ranch dressing. I have to tell you that the ranch is just one of those things that won't let you stop eating those darn good wings even when you're like me ... a NON WING EATER! I was debating between 4 or 5 stars and I went with 5, the wings are just too darn good. This is always my go to spot for wings in Gainesville. Its true, the plaza its situated in is really sketchy but the wings, theyre worth it. I'm a cheese lover so i pretty much always go garlic parm to play it safe when it comes to wings. Thing is though, garlic parm at Wingstop isnt just safe, its the right choice, its the best choice. Unlike other supposed garlic parm wings ive had at other restaurants, Wingstop actually uses real parmesan cheese and they heap it on there. Pretty much every wing gets hit with parm and its finger licking good. Second, the fries. The fries are sweet and salty and by sweet, i mean mildly sweet so do not be deterred. Eating them fresh is best cause by the time we get them home they turn soggy. But we eat them anyway cause theyre equally as good. Not greeted when I came in, talking up another and did the same to others after me. Employees were nice, I'm just old school on greetings. It can set the tone of the interaction. The store was clean and the food was good. Just disliked they were out of the seasoning on the fries but salt would have helped a lot. I'd return but since I'm moving I won't be. DO NOT EAT HERE! This place gave me a SEVERE case of food poisoning! I ate nothing all day, and after finishing some wings there that night I was nearly hospitalized within 8 hours of finishing their wings. After I shared my experience with some people I worked with once I recovered enough to return back to work, 2 of the 5 people I talked to told me a similar story. Apparently, this wasn't anything new with this location?!!?!?! They all said this was why they wouldn't be going back. I was a bit put off by seeing the unclean "cooks" making food with no gloves and looking like washing their hands wasn't anything within the realm of normal routine. This is the worst Wingstop I've visited. Employees aren't friendly and for online orders, both times we've visited we've waited for 20-30 minutes for our order to be completed after the estimated time they gave. Not even really busy. The most aggravating part would be that there wasn't even an apology or explanation for the waits either time. Just a quick, "sorry for the wait!" when we finally received our food would have left the review a bit more positive. Also- I'm a fan of wingstop, I've visited various locations multiple times and their food isn't great. My wings weren't cooked properly, some even pink on the inside, the actual wings just weren't very good. The fries weren't a bit crispy and delicious like the usual wingstop standard.. The low rating is not for the wings or any of the food for that matter, its all decent for a chain Wing place. The low rating is for the management and location. The location is in what one could best describe as a "low rent" area, that while it is surrounded by college kid apartments is also surrounded by a not so great neighborhood. Most businesses in the plaza don't last longer than a year (or less), with the exception of the sketchy liquor store. Management (or what I perceive to be management) always seems to be flustered and unprepared. On multiple occasions I have put in orders online and when I arrived, the manager on duty stated, "oh, did you order online? our internet is down and we're not getting online orders." Last time it was followed with, "what did you order, I can put it in now and have it ready in 15 minutes." The point of ordering online, is to not have to wait. Move over to Butler Plaza/Archer Road and this place will make a killing and will avoid some of the sketchiness of the current location. Although it's a bit pricy for the size wings you get, I would go here for the garlic parmesan wings alone. The only downside is it's basically a take out only place. I went in today. I am a faithful customer. I decided to eat in today instead of getting to go. HUGE mistake. I notice a few people had come in after me & left. The young man sees me looking at my receipt, as I'm getting irritated & he asks me my name. He goes on to find my order stacked 3 orders down in a bag. I clearly told the young lady who took the order that it was dine in. The young man claims he called my name and no one answered. I was sitting by the counter so I know that is not true. The one other dine in family, I heard him clearly call their name. He never called anyone else. Aside from the cold food, drinks in machine were out or tasted like Alka Seltzer. I asked about & was informed they are out of syrup. Them knowing that, customers should be told that so we can make informed choices regarding where we want to eat. They said nothing & let us just discover. I asked for refund because I was over this. Told no! No apology or anything from cashier. The young man did try to make it better with some fresh fries, after I asked and a drink in the bottle (that part he was at least proactive on. Very POOR customer service! If you know your proper supplies are not in, be forthcoming. If you know someone is dine in, why is it even in a bag? But if it just must be, say the name loud and clear. Have been to other Wingstops and enjoyed the food and service. This location continues to disappoint. First I place my order and they tell me 25 minutes, which is no issue if the food is going to be fresh. When the food came out I left and My wife and I ate in the car. While my wings were fresh, it was obvious that her boneless wings and our Fries were ready before I even ordered. Also they left out the extra sauce we ordered. While I was waiting the staff was just hanging out in the lobby enjoying themselves and only when the owner(guessing he owns the place since he has a wingstop car and asked about business) did they rush back into the kitchen to get to work. Definitely some of the best wings in Gainesville although to echo another reviewer, the wings are rather small and seem decreasing in size from previous visits. The fries are fantastic and seasoned with a little bit of sugar. Seating is a little bit difficult as there aren't that many tables @the SW 20th location and it's located in what's getting to be one of the seedier parts of town....mostly students and it's right next to a liquor store. I ordered the garlic parmesan wings and what they made for me looked like a second grader with no hands could make. Literally, the wings were just naked wings with parmesan cheese thrown on top.
