It's my first time ever trying jjam bbong and jjangmeyon so I don't have anything to compare it to but it is extremely good. The soups came out piping hot which I so appreciate especially with the Daly City weather. Large servings. We got 3 different things but you could honestly come close to getting away ordering 1 for 2 people. The cream jjambbong was not spicy at all but the two others has some kick to it. They are also very generous with the seafood for the price . Highly highly recommend! We will definitely be back to try their chicken wings which also has very good reviews from here.

What a bummer. For…read moreyears, I had been dying to check out Raising Cane's. In no small part because of how popular they seem to be, but also because the Bay Area had been deprived of their presence for so long! I'm not ashamed to admit it - in this case, the FOMO had been especially strong. Now that I've been, though? Let's just say it makes me feel a lot better knowing that I actually hadn't been missing out on much that whole time. Ironically, from the moment I walked inside, things started off really well. For one, there was just one person in line ahead of me and there were just a handful of tables taken (it got a whole lot busier by the time I left). Secondly, even though I had ordered the 3 Finger Combo, I was actually given THE BOX COMBO ($14.49) instead, which comes with Four Chicken Fingers, a Cane's Sauce, Crinkle Cut Fries, Coleslaw, Texas Toast, and a Drink. When my order came out, which took a while as the workers realized their mistake before handing my tray to me, the first thing that struck me was how curiously pale everything looked. Sadly, that translated to how it all tasted. Although the Chicken Fingers were undeniably moist, they were tasteless without the Cane's Sauce (which really is great) and barely had any crispiness to them. The fries weren't very crispy either, but, unlike the chicken, they were way too seasoned/salty. As for the Texas Toast, it felt a bit greasy, but I liked how soft and lightly toasted it was. In the end, it's kind of crazy that the coleslaw was my favorite thing - fresh, crisp, and not drowning in dressing. Considering how underwhelmed I was, I really can't say I get the hype around Raising Cane's. I certainly understand the long lines to try this place when they first opened, but not how popular their food seems to be, which is really just a vessel to eat copious amounts of their Cane's Sauce (also, why so little for so many fingers?). That being said, given how ridiculously late they stay open (until 3am on weekdays, 3:30am on weekends), I can't entirely rule out the possibility of coming back, especially if/when those late night fast food cravings strike. Otherwise, I'll stick with my usual fast food favorites or Chick-Fil-A/Popeye's for chicken tenders.

It doesn't exactly taste like a seafood boil but the shrimp and crawfish still tasted good and not overcooked after i heated them up again. The potato was actually so yummy too. Anywho. * Seafood Boil For One ($15.98) - Choose two: Crawfish, shrimp, mussels, clams, or sausage - Includes rice, potato, and corn - Spice level: Mild, medium, or hot My pick: Shrimp & Sausage, HOT The highlights were the soft red potato, sweet corn kernels, and perfectly cooked white rice. The main event was ehhhh - the 5 pc head-on shrimp was overcooked and dry, while the sausage turned out to be sliced hot dogs. À la carte, the shrimp is $19.98/lb; IMO, overpriced for the size and quality. I think they may use their Nashville chicken spice mix for the Cajun sauce. It's savory, very oily, and mild for "hot". I wish they added fresh garlic to boost the overall flavor. Since you have to drive to Man Jose for good Cajun seafood boils, Burnin' Mouth is worth a try if you're in the area. This was a clean tasting dish with a good ratio of pork and shrimp filling. It was served on a bed of cabbage and came with a side of soy sauce, top off with cilantro to add flavor. Lighter dishes pair well with the heavier meat dishes like their double fried honey chili Korean fried chicken ("KFC".) They use a secret recipe batter that keeps the chicken crunchy when coated with the honey chili sauce. The meat was juicy and soft inside. This was a semi-sweet glaze with slice amount of spicy heat. My guess is they used Korean gochujang (fermented red chili paste) as part of the glaze. When my Hong Kong style crispy noodles shrimp $21 arrived, I knew I had to take some of this home. The chef knows how to make this dish well. Some places will saturate the noodles too much making it not crispy. I love how they put a medley of bok choy and choy sum vegetables in this dish to make it healthier. Service was excellent. Side notes: Jun the Korean women owner that created the menu, wasn't here today. Otherwise I would tell her in-person again how much I enjoyed her food. They gave us a tray for all our food which was super helpful when carrying it back to the car. Our favorite was the corned beef and the ham. The pastrami was good but there was some parts where it has too much fat. The chicken was ok, it was just expensive for the size. I think the next time we come back we'll just get the corned beef and ham. I hope to make this our go-to spot for our next Thanksgiving dinners in the years to come .
